Ji Lin led Freedom Gate through the tournament’s final battles, political upheaval, and escape from a devastated Mingdu. In Star Luo, he secured Xu Jiawei’s support, expanded Freedom Gate, and agreed to help rescue the contestants held by the Sun Moon Empire.

• Xu Jiujiu, Vina, and Zhang Lexuan coordinated with Shrek Academy, while Ji Lin pursued Jing Hongchen’s secret support and gained his cooperation through Chi Yuan and a weapon blueprint.
• Long Xiaoyao confronted Du Busi as Shrek Academy and its allies attacked Xu Tianran, but Xu Tianran survived and the attackers retreated after the palace defenses turned against them.

Ji Lin and Freedom Gate infiltrated Sunrise City and coordinated a breakout that freed nearly six hundred poisoned tournament contestants. After escaping the city, Ji Lin killed the Fourth Elder, Wu Yu, and much of the Evil Lord Soul Engineer Corps, while Xu Tianran prepared for a military meeting as war seemed increasingly likely.

• Ji Lin led Freedom Gate across the sea and entered Sunrise City disguised as merchants while Elder Xuan and Shrek’s other elders drew the Sun Moon Empire’s attention elsewhere.
• Ji Lin and Ye Guyi discovered an Evil Soul Master’s lair, killed the Spirit of Vengeance, and rescued Feng Ling, who revealed that the remaining contestants were held in a water prison beneath the southern moat.
• Ji Lin located the prison and learned the captives had been weakened by Soul Extinguishing Powder, so Nan Qiu Qiu provided her mother’s antidote and Chi Yuan secretly administered it.
• Ji Lin and the other rescue teams launched coordinated attacks on Sunrise City’s defenses, while Ji Lin freed the prisoners and led them out through the southern wall.
• The contestants escaped in groups on Flying Soul Tools, while Ji Lin returned for Feng Ling and drew Wu Yu, the Fourth Elder, and the Evil Lord Soul Engineer Corps away from the city.
• Ji Lin unleashed his Tribulation Annihilation Form on the wilderness plain, killing Wu Yu, the Fourth Elder, and more than a hundred Soul Engineers.

As the Sun Moon Empire launched its invasion, Ji Lin joined the fighting to protect Star Luo and help turn the war toward Heaven Dou. He led a strike against the Death God Soul Tool, faced Ye Xishui, and helped reclaim the Ming Dou Mountain Range before the Sun Moon Empire withdrew.

• Ji Lin visited his mother's grave, vowed to avenge her, and enlisted as an ordinary soldier in a reserve legion as war began.
• The Sun Moon Empire's bombardment devastated Star Luo's northwestern defenses, and Ji Lin intervened to help Dai Hao and the White Tiger Guards escape while stealing Ye Yulin's Sun Moon Divine Needle.
• After learning that the Sun Moon Empire had captured Heaven Dou City, Ji Lin urged Star Luo to attack through the Ming Dou Mountain Range and drew the enemy's forces away from its advance.
• Ji Lin stole more than twenty aerial detection Soul Tools, then worked with Star Luo's Titled Douluo to defeat Wang Yiheng and breach the defenses surrounding the Death God Soul Tool.
• Ye Xishui revealed herself as a level 99 Limit Douluo and overwhelmed the Star Luo attackers until Chi Yuan arrived to fight her.
• Ye Xishui used the Death God Tower's Death's Light to escape as the mountaintop collapsed, while Star Luo's Titled Douluo destroyed the enemy's Soul Tool positions and called in the army.
• The Sun Moon Empire withdrew from the Ming Dou Mountain Range, and Ji Lin explained that the attack had achieved its objective without risking a fight to the death against Ye Xishui.

Ji Lin enlisted the Far North’s soul beasts to destroy Ju Zi’s mining operation and secured rare metals for Xu Jiujiu’s research. As the war settled into a stalemate, he left for occupied Heaven Dou City to bring Meng Hongchen and Xiao Hongchen back to Freedom Gate.

• Ji Lin urged Wang Qiuer and the others to cultivate at Freedom Gate while Shrek prepared Soul Engineer legions and the Sun Moon Empire advanced through the Heaven Dou Empire.
• Ji Lin connected the Sun Moon Empire’s guarded mining operation near the Far North to Xuan Ziwen’s need for rare metals, then traveled north to seek the Snow Empress’s help.
• The Snow Empress secured A Tai’s support, and Ji Lin led the Titan Snow Demons toward Ju Zi’s camp after disabling its detection systems with a blizzard.
• Ji Lin and the soul beasts destroyed the camp’s mining equipment, detection tools, and Soul Tool Position, then withdrew after A Tai warned the humans to leave the Far North.
• Ji Lin returned to Freedom Gate with refined rare metals and the Snow Empress Token, and he and Xu Jiujiu discussed the Molten Fire Knight Armor’s energy problem with Xuan Ziwen.
