Herpo pressed his lips together, his gaze still a little unfocused as he looked toward the door.
Voldemort tossed The Daily Prophet onto the table, and his voice broke the silence. "Herpo, that matter that was troubling us before... I've already found the answer."
Herpo adjusted his sitting posture slightly and shifted his gaze to Voldemort. "Oh? What matter?"
"Those anomalies among the 'Werewolf Wizards,' of course..." Voldemort's voice grew much softer, but the red light in his eyes flickered dangerously.
"Herpo, is it because you've lived too long? Has a pile of useless memories built up in your head and made you slow and forgetful?"
"Perhaps." Herpo answered carelessly, not even bothering to refute the obvious sarcasm in those words.
When he thought of Voldemort actually having a servant like Barty Crouch Jr., and then thought of the band of traitors in the Isaiah Society, he really had little interest in dealing with Voldemort right now.
"Herpo, you seem to have forgotten something..." Voldemort's voice grew even softer, but the red light in his eyes became increasingly clear, blazing like leaping flames.
"The reason we were able to reach a partnership was not only because you provided the plan to exile Vizet, but also because you were willing to provide intelligence support."
"Do you still remember what you said back then? You sounded so solemn and certain, claiming that you had the latest intelligence from every Ministry of Magic, and what happened!"
He suddenly flicked his fingers. The Daily Prophet before him instantly stretched taut and hardened, turning into a sharp silver sword that stabbed straight toward Herpo with a sound of tearing air.
Herpo turned his wrist, and his Wand had already slid into his palm. He gave the silver sword shooting toward him a gentle flick.
