Three phoenixes?
Besides Fawkes, there were two more phoenixes?
Carcas's envy and complaints made Voldemort realize that something was obviously wrong.
Dumbledore's luck was indeed quite good. Being favored by a phoenix was proof enough of that.
Yet having three phoenixes at once could no longer be described as simply having "good luck."
Dumbledore had never concealed the fact that he possessed a phoenix.
Back then, to resist the Death Eaters' actions, Dumbledore had formed an organization called the "Order of the Phoenix."
When members of the Order of the Phoenix carried out missions, they would occasionally receive support from phoenixes.
Voldemort also knew a rumor: supposedly, "whenever a member of the Dumbledore family encountered danger, a phoenix would appear."
Thus, Dumbledore having one phoenix was nothing surprising to him.
But... three phoenixes?
He recalled that not long ago, Carcas had reported to him that a second phoenix had appeared in the skies above Hogwarts.
At the time, he had heard Dumbledore sigh, "This is a good omen." Preoccupied with savoring the cruel thrill rising within him, he had overlooked certain details, such as... how that second phoenix had appeared.
But now, combined with Carcas's report that another phoenix had appeared at Hogwarts, his state of mind had completely changed.
Could those two additional phoenixes be...

At that thought, Voldemort narrowed his eyes slightly, and distinct magical ripples spread outward from him.
Behind Voldemort, both Carcas and the Wizards standing in formation sensed the magical fluctuations radiating from him.
From what they knew of Voldemort, whenever he entered this sort of state, some unfortunate soul would easily suffer for it.
