Become Yourself, Improve a Little Every Day
Harry had a dream, a very beautiful dream.
He was wrapped in swaddling clothes next to a warm fireplace, warmer than not only the Dursleys' house, but even the fireplace in the Common Room.
Before him stood a woman with long, deep red hair and emerald green eyes. She spoke softly and gently, humming a lullaby to lull him to sleep.
He also saw a man with a hairstyle very similar to his own. If Aunt Petunia saw such a hairstyle, she would definitely say, "His hair is as messy as a bird's nest!"
A sound came from the foyer, a man's voice, "Lily, take Harry and run! It's him! I'll hold him off..."
It was a piercing chant, "Avada Kedavra!"
The warmth around them vanished, leaving only a blinding green light and the dull thud of a heavy object falling to the ground.
The beauty vanished, completely lost in the bumpy ride upstairs.
Harry was placed in the cradle, and he saw the woman's complex gaze—despair, fear, and determination...
At first, he was filled with fear and despair, but as the woman opened her arms to completely protect him, the despair and fear disappeared, leaving only a strong sense of determination.
All the woman could do now was, "Don't kill Harry... please... kill me! Have mercy... I'll do anything..."
That piercing voice wanted to say only this, "Avada Kedavra!"
"Dad! Mom!" Harry woke up with a start in the green light, his eyes snapping open.
He rubbed his eyes, which were full of tears and dust, and finally managed to make out the two figures in front of him. "Headmaster Dumbledore... Wizet?"
"Voldemort is back! I saw two Voldemort!" He jumped up and shouted like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.
"And Lockhart!" He noticed Lockhart lying on the ground and gestured wildly with his hands and feet. "He... is that young Voldemort's accomplice!"
"He brought me here... a huge cauldron, with lots of snakes inside... and then Voldemort came back to life, two Voldemort!"
Dumbledore patted Harry on the shoulder to calm him down and said gently, "Good boy, it's all taken care of!"
Wizet snatched the wand from Lockhart's hand and handed it to Harry. "This is your wand."
"Th... thank you!" Harry gripped his wand tightly, feeling the familiar touch, and his heart finally calmed down.
Phoenix the Fawkes appeared and led them back to Hogwarts Castle.
Even with such a magical travel experience, Harry didn't feel excited at all. His brows furrowed slightly, and his lips were tightly pursed, much like Professor McGonagall.
"Zombie Walk!" Dumbledore waved his wand, causing Lockhart to float behind him.
He looked at Harry, who remained silent. "Harry, are you feeling unwell? Should I take you to the Hospital Wing?"
Harry looked up at Dumbledore's kind face, and for some reason, he suddenly thought of the dream he had just had, the dream that destroyed his home.
He shook his head slightly and asked in a dejected tone, "Am I a useless person?"
Dumbledore and posed the question to Wizet, "Wizet, what do you think? I agree with you."
"Ahem..." Wizet coughed twice and asked in return, "Why would you think that?"
"You saved me again... I know all along..." Harry sighed deeply. "You saved me last school year too..."
"I watched Voldemort rise from the dead, and then I fainted... Just like back then, there was nothing I could do... I could only watch..."
"Did you really not do anything?" Wizet asked again. "Think carefully, how have you improved this time compared to last time?"
"Improvement?" Harry's tone was full of doubt. "Have I really improved?"
"Of course there is," Wizet said softly. "There is visible progress."
"I don't think I did anything..." Harry said uncertainly, "That... young Voldemort named Tom Riddle ..."
"He tried to grab me... to use me as a shield... and I resisted, but failed... Is that... progress?"
Wizet continued, "So what did you do last time?"
"I think I fainted... I didn't do anything." Harry tried to recall, his tone tinged with embarrassment. "But I do seem to have improved..."
He scratched his head and said with deep emotion, "I wish I could be like you... You're great at Quidditch... And great in class too..."
"And you also know how to duel... You've taught me a lot about Transfiguration... It seems like you can do everything... You're practically omnipotent..."
"Why do you want to become me?" Wizet retorted again. "You are me, and I am who I am, aren't I?"
"Huh?" Harry groaned, somewhat bewildered.
Wizet smiled slightly. "You're Gryffindor, I'm Ravenclaw. Are you planning to transfer here?"
"I..." Harry was speechless for a moment, not knowing what to say.
"That's where the difference lies..." Wizet said, spreading his hands. "Actually, just be yourself. Your resistance against Voldemort showed courage, and that's very important!"
"For me, it's enough to learn a little more each day, improve a little more each day, and make sure I'm a little better tomorrow than I am today... You can try doing that too."
Harry frowned slightly, a thoughtful expression on his face. "A little improvement every day?"
Wizet. "That's right! When you feel a little tired someday, you can look back and see how much you've improved. You'll feel a great sense of accomplishment and think you're really amazing."
"We are all students, and this is a very precious time. Only at this time can we study without any worries, focusing only on constantly surpassing ourselves, without having to think about anything else."
"That's right." Dumbledore agreement. "After that, you'll have more and more things to consider, and it will become more difficult to make progress."
Wizet chimed in, "If you have the chance, you could try asking your uncle."
Harry was a little confused. "Why do you need to ask him?"
"Teach him a sonnet," Wizet said. "Let's see if he can recite one from memory."
"He definitely can't recite a single poem!" Harry pursed his lips, trying hard to suppress a laugh, a picture flashing through his mind—
If you asked that question, Uncle Vernon would definitely blush and growl, "Why should I recite it to you?"
"But he's very good at drilling rigs..." He took a long breath and then exhaled it quickly.
"I understand what you mean!" A genuine smile appeared on his face. "Wizet, I really don't know how to thank you enough..."
Dumbledore wore a satisfied smile; what Wizet had just said was exactly what he had wanted to say.
Having Wizet say these words would certainly have a better effect than if he said them himself...
