Luna had just wanted to soothe the owl when the stream in the distance suddenly began to churn, and a massive figure emerged from the water.
Thanks to the support of the Meditation Method, the sudden change of circumstances failed to affect Vizet.
He sensed the figure extending its tail and sweeping it toward the two of them.
At this critical moment, fear did not affect his decision-making.
Vizet grabbed Luna by the arm, and they both lunged forward at the same time, narrowly dodging the attack.
Bang!
The figure's tail grazed Vizet's shoulder before stabbing viciously into the grass.
The ground shook violently. The figure withdrew its tail, sending dust and bits of grass flying everywhere.
Hiss!
More water splashed into the air. The figure let out a sinister hiss and emerged from the stream, landing on the bank.
It was a strange serpent Vizet had never seen before. Its upright body stood at least two meters tall.
What surprised him most was that this strange serpent had three heads.
The three-headed snake was not only enormous and grotesque; its body was also covered in a layer of orange-red, thorn-like scales.
The orange-red scales were not particularly vivid. Instead, they carried a deathly gray hue, giving the serpent an aged and decrepit appearance.
As the three-headed snake hissed softly, Vizet could clearly see a pair of venomous fangs glowing with a faint green light inside the head on the right.
The three-headed snake was as thick as a wheel. Its body writhed as it lunged toward them.
Hiss!
The three-headed snake attacked again. The head on the right shot forward, opening its blood basin mouth and revealing the sharp fangs within.
Although the attack from that head was sudden, it was held back by the other two heads and failed to bite Vizet immediately.
Taking advantage of this opening, Vizet led Luna backward once more, narrowly avoiding the snake head's bite.
The snake head plunged into the grass, kicking up another cloud of dust and bits of grass.
"Vizet, this is a Runespoor. It might be old, so it isn't very agile." Luna's voice held no trace of panic. "All three of its heads have their own minds, so they can easily turn on each other."
At that moment, the middle head opened its eyes and let out a hissing sound, as if it were saying something.
The head on the left also flicked its tongue repeatedly, shaking its head as though scolding the other two.
The three heads glanced at one another. Each bared its teeth, and they actually began attacking each other.
Just as Luna had said, the Runespoor was fighting among its own heads.
"This is an XXXX-level Magical creature. Why would it appear here?" Luna climbed to her feet.
"You're hurt!" When she saw the blood seeping from Vizet's shoulder, her voice filled with panic.
Luna hurriedly pulled Vizet up and supported him as they ran toward home.
The Runespoor seemed to realize that its prey was about to escape. It stopped fighting among itself and chased after Vizet and Luna at incredible speed.
Through the Meditation Method, Vizet sensed the movement behind him.
The Runespoor moved as fast as a Motorcycle running at full throttle. It would probably be able to attack again in just a few seconds.
As he considered how to respond, Luna pushed him forward first and said in an unusually resolute tone, "Vizet, you're hurt. I'll lure it away."
Vizet was utterly stunned.
He had never expected Luna to do something like this in such a dangerous situation.
In his previous life, no one had ever treated him this way.
He abruptly looked back. Everything around him seemed to slow down.
The three snake heads drew closer and closer to Luna, while her Light golden long hair streamed through the air.
Looking into Luna's eyes, Vizet saw no panic at all—only composure and determination.
Protecting her family?
Vizet recalled his previous life. After realizing that he was living in a Welfare institution, he had once desperately wished for his family to come and take him away.
Any kind of family would have been enough. He would have paid any price.
At that moment, he understood Luna and why she had made such a decision—
Back then, Luna had been powerless and lost her family;
Now, she did not want history to repeat itself.
Vizet was the same. After finally gaining a family, he could not bear to see anything happen to them—especially not because they were protecting him.
The Details of Ancient Magic: Shield surfaced in his mind. Every detail was crystal clear.
He was confident that he could complete the spell now.
His wish was stronger than ever—the Runespoor absolutely could not hurt Luna!
Vizet pressed his hands together. The Obscurus was squeezed for powerful Ancient Magic Power, which surged violently through his body.
The Runespoor's venomous fangs were only inches away, almost touching Luna's slender neck.
His hand gesture flowed smoothly. Power gathered into a glowing orb between his hands and continued spreading outward...
The ball of light dissipated once more, but this time, the power did not return to Vizet's body.
In the next instant, Silver-Blue Light suffused Luna's entire body. It rapidly expanded outward, transforming into a Spherical barrier.
The barrier shone with dazzling Silver-Blue Light. When the Runespoor's fangs struck it, they shattered into countless sparks.
Seized by sudden inspiration, Vizet pulled apart his index fingers and thumbs, which had been pressed together.
The barrier immediately expanded outward, forcibly pushing the Runespoor back into the stream.
This was Vizet's first time casting the Shield Charm, yet the barrier's scale was astonishingly vast.
To maintain such a massive barrier, he continued squeezing power from the Obscurus.
The Obscurus consequently grew restless. The chains sealing it shook violently, as if they might break apart at any moment.
Hiss!
The Runespoor returned for another assault, all three heads letting out a synchronized roar.
After all, this was merely a Shield Charm. At least for now, it had no offensive power and could not inflict enough damage on the Runespoor.
Vizet tried to maintain the barrier, but dizziness overtook him, and the scene before his eyes grew dim.
The barrier also grew thinner and thinner, on the verge of vanishing at any moment.
Just then, a Tabby Cat suddenly darted out from the distance.
The Tabby Cat leaped into the air and rapidly transformed into human form.
An elderly witch appeared. She wore glasses and a Dark green robe, and held a Wand in her hand.
She pointed her Wand at the Runespoor and gave it a gentle flick...
The stream water around the Runespoor transformed into a Steel Cage, trapping the enraged serpent inside.
"Merlin's beard! Thank goodness neither of you was hurt! Episkey!" The witch hurried over to Vizet, and Emerald Green light appeared at the tip of her Wand.
Vizet felt a tingling sensation in his shoulder. Before he could take another breath, the blood and wound had completely disappeared.
"Is this magic too?" Vizet grabbed Luna's outstretched hand and sprang to his feet.
"Yes!" The witch pursed her lips. She barely showed her teeth when she spoke, giving her a somewhat stern appearance.
"You'll be able to learn all this magic at Hogwarts in the future. Fortunately, I arrived in time. If you had been bitten by the Runespoor, you might have had to return to St. Mungo's for treatment."
"Thank you!" Vizet thanked her repeatedly. "May I ask, madam... how should I address you?"
The witch offered a faint smile. "I forgot to introduce myself! Minerva McGonagall, Transfiguration professor at Hogwarts."
"Hogwarts' Admission Letter. My purpose in coming here is to deliver it to you." She took a Parchment envelope from her pocket and held it out to Vizet.
Vizet accepted the Parchment envelope with both hands. A Wax seal stamped with a Shield pattern crest marked its closure.
At the center of the crest was a capital "H," surrounded by a Lion, an Eagle, a Badger, and a Snake.
