Background / History

The Lin Family emerged from the Mortal Dust Domain, a Ninth-grade Star Domain, and rose to the Seventh-grade Star Domain through the efforts of its elders. Its survival depended heavily on Lin You, the sole descendant left by the deceased former patriarch; Lin You's mother died after giving birth to him. The elders' high cultivation had also made producing further heirs exceedingly difficult. 1

At the beginning of the story, the family faced demotion if Lin You failed the Heavenly Pride Competition. Its core consisted only of eight elders and Lin You, with no collateral branches. 1 20 Lin You's victory in the competition secured the family's promotion, but also intensified its long-standing blood feud with the other Five Great Families of the Tianluo Star Domain. 6 14 16

Following the subsequent clan-extermination conflict, the family relocated to Mengbo Star Domain in a Sixth-grade Star Domain.
