Background / History

Tang San pursued the Titan Giant Ape alone after it abducted Xiao Wu. During this pursuit, he defeated and absorbed the Soul Ring of a Man-Faced Demon Spider, obtaining the Eight Spider Lances as an External Soul Bone. Dai Yao later forcibly separated the lances from him, causing Tang San severe pain. 117 118 119

As a Shrek Academy core member, Tang San revealed his Twin Spirits during the Soul Master competition. Dai Yao’s assault on Xiao Wu drove him to fight with the Clear Sky Hammer and Chaotic Wind Hammer Technique, beginning a long-running personal feud between the two. 197 214

Following the competition, Tang San negotiated with Dai Yao over knowledge of immortal herbs, remaining wary of Dai Yao’s concealed hostility. 183 After Xiao Wu’s identity as a hundred-thousand-year Soul Beast was exposed, Tang San openly affirmed his love and willingness to protect her; Tang Hao intervened to save them from Spirit Hall. 246

Under the identity Tang Yin, Tang San entered Slaughter City to improve his strength and settle his blood feuds. After Xiao Wu’s sacrifice and death, Tang San dedicated himself to avenging her against Dai Yao and Bibi Dong. The Sky Blue Bull Python advised him not to add Soul Rings to his Clear Sky Hammer prematurely, preserving its future potential until he reached the Titled Douluo realm. 318

Tang San later infiltrated Spirit Hall’s camp under the Tang Yin identity, ostensibly agreeing to serve as a spy within the Haotian Sect. He used the Blue Silver Domain to locate Xiao Wu in the Star Dou Great Forest, reunited with her, and escaped after Dai Yao exposed his identity. 313 314 315

The Haotian Sect eventually imposed three conditions for Tang San’s return: reach level 80 Soul Power within ten years, gain a Ten Thousand Year Spirit Ring as his eighth ring, and kill Dai Yao. Tang San accepted. 308 He also sought to establish the Tang Sect and preserve his hidden-weapon legacy, but Dai Yao seized Tang San’s hidden-weapon blueprints through Xiao Wu. 329 339

During the Heaven Dou Palace crisis, Tang San discovered Qian Renxue’s identity and challenged her to buy time for reinforcements. After Emperor Xue Ye’s death, Tang San became the Blue Sky King, received authority from the Haotian Sect, and assumed command of Heaven Dou’s defense. 370 371 377

As ruler, Tang San pursued Dai Yao and Qian Renxue relentlessly, later ordering the execution of coachmen involved in a decoy escape after realizing he had been deceived. 382 During the war against the Spirit Empire, he ordered a northern withdrawal, a scorched-earth policy, and the defense of Zhennan Pass. 462

Dai Yao later targeted Tang San with the divine attack Godfall. The Seventh Elder sacrificed eight Soul Rings to protect him, while an unknown expert ultimately saved Tang San from the attack. 477 478 In his final confrontation with Dai Yao, Tang San was confronted with revelations concerning his original destiny and alleged past actions.
