History

Early influence and recruitment

Spirit Hall was already a major continental force before Dai Yao's involvement. Though it nominally led all Soul Masters, the Heaven Dou and Star Luo royal families, as well as the Upper Three Sects, publicly acknowledged its authority while resisting it in practice. 48

Bishop Ferdinand took note of Dai Yao's exceptional potential while he was still a Star Luo prince. When Dai Yao sought registration at the Star Luo Imperial City branch, Ferdinand recognized that the request was a calculated attempt to seek Spirit Hall's backing against the imperial succession struggle. 16 48

Spirit Hall subsequently helped Dai Yao and Zhu Zhuqing leave the Star Luo Empire. In Heaven Dou, Salas received them on Ferdinand's recommendation and became Dai Yao's principal protector within the organization. 60 72

Dai Yao's accession

When Dai Yao disappeared from Oakland Academy, Salas mobilized Spirit Hall's hidden agents across Heaven Dou Imperial City despite the risk of exposing them. He openly treated Dai Yao as a member of Spirit Hall before Dai Yao had formally joined. 96

Bibi Dong allowed Dai Yao to remain in the Heaven Dou Empire and compete in the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament, intending for his talent to pressure the Golden Generation into further cultivation. 158

After defeating the Spirit Hall Battle Team in the tournament final, Dai Yao publicly declared that he would join Spirit Hall. The organization held a high-honor ceremony for his accession, attended by hundreds of red-robed bishops. 255 259

Internal conflict and departure

Dai Yao's position remained politically unstable. Some elders distrusted his Star Luo background and his ties to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, while others objected to the preferential treatment given to him by Ferdinand and Salas. 152 158 305

At the Soul Hunting Assembly, Dai Yao opposed the proposed destruction of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect, attracting criticism from bishops and elders. 271

Although he established the Cyan Lotus Sect as a contingency against being excluded from Spirit Hall, Dai Yao initially remained within the organization. 307 He ultimately departed after learning that Bibi Dong intended to kill him. Zhu Zhuqing, Feng Wutong, and his maids left Spirit City with him. 416

Despite Dai Yao's apparent betrayal, Bibi Dong prevented the bishops from pursuing him and suppressed their demands for retaliation. 486

Spirit Hall Empire

Spirit Hall placed Qian Renxue in the Heaven Dou Empire under the identity of Crown Prince Xue Qinghe, intending to control the empire and prepare the way for continental unification. 360 370

The scheme was exposed during the Heaven Dou palace coup, bringing Spirit Hall into open conflict with the Clear Sky Sect and the Heaven Dou Empire's defenders. 370 371 373

Three years before Dai Yao's later return to Spirit City, Bibi Dong founded the Spirit Hall Empire and launched war against both great empires. By this period, Spirit Hall had become the continent's central power in both name and reality. 461 528

Internal Politics

Spirit Hall's leadership is divided between the Pope and the Great Enshrinement. The Pope controls the Pope's Palace and its administrative power, while the Great Enshrinement governs the Worship Hall and matters of divine inheritance. 230

This division produces persistent factional conflict. Salas warns that competing factions operate throughout Spirit Hall, while Dugu Bo considers its internal struggles more dangerous than Dai Yao realizes. 152 202

Bibi Dong's supporters dominate the Pope's Palace, but the Worship Hall retains its own authority under Qian Daoliu. Tensions deepen after the Worship Hall discovers Dai Yao's Twin Martial Souls and suspects Bibi Dong has deliberately protected him. 271 353 356
