Classification

Supreme Beings are generally former Imperial Dao figures who performed a Self-Severing Slash on their Dao Fruits and entered Forbidden Zones to prolong their existence. Even in this diminished state, an ordinary Ninth Heaven Quasi-Emperor is considered unable to challenge them directly. 175

Their status is not identical to that of a complete Great Emperor. A Supreme Being who restores their Dao Fruit through ultimate sublimation becomes a true Emperor, a state described as incomparably greater than an ordinary Supreme Being or an Emperor Weapon. 195

The title can also be applied by combat equivalence rather than origin. The Underworld's Chaos Monster never became a true Emperor, but after merging with the Heaven-Piercing Nether Treasure, it possessed strength equivalent to a Supreme Being and could contend with a Great Emperor. 37

History

In an earlier era, Supreme Beings frequently emerged and fought so violently that their battles shattered the Great Dao. The Void opposed them to protect living beings, while outside forces united against the Forbidden Zones. 13

The Divine Ruins were known to contain several Supreme Beings in hibernation. Their direct descendants could be used as experiments, as shown when a Supreme Being of the Divine Ruins executed his own son and a Saint after their perceived betrayal. 25 34

Two Supreme Beings later emerged from the Divine Ruins intending to locate the Great Accomplishment Hegemon Body and the Demonic Emperor's remains. Zhang Huan had prepared a trap for them; both were killed, forcing the remaining Forbidden Zone Supremes to negotiate and surrender the Desolate Pagoda as compensation. 45

The revelation of the Undying One's crimes briefly aligned some Supreme Beings with their traditional enemies. The Primordial Ancient Mine offered to cooperate with Wushi the Great Emperor against the Undying One, seeking the Longevity Method and a share of the Undying One's body in return. 51 96
