Arc 2The Evil Bodhisattva

Chen Shi’s cultivation and violent clash with the Zhao family lead him into a growing mystery surrounding a porcelain kiln and the True King’s Tomb. When the kiln’s sealed demon awakens and spreads its domain, Granny Sha, Prince Xiao, Jin Hongying, and Li Jindou converge to confront it.

  • Granny Sha summoned Chen Shi from the Underworld, and he returned with the Ram Horn Heavenly Spirit Lamp before beginning to cultivate at the Mountain Lord Temple.
  • After transforming his true blood and surviving hunger in the mountains, Chen Shi reached the Five Viscera Complete Truth stage and returned to Huangpo Village.
  • Zhao Yue’s Imperial Guards killed Sanwang and pursued Chen Shi, who killed the guards, Zhao Yue, Zhao Xue'e, other Zhao family members, and He Lian Zheng.
  • Prince Xiao guided Chen Shi through the Big Dipper’s talismanic stars, then brought him to Wuwang, where Chen Shi saw Jin Hongying attack Prince Xiao with cannons.
  • Chen Shi rescued the wounded Prince Xiao and took him to Mirror Lake Villa, where Grandpa drove off Jin Hongying’s paper figures and warned Prince Xiao about Chen Shi’s growing Azure Ghost Hand.
  • Chen Shi completed the tempering of his true bones, while Li Jindou investigated a ghostly kiln and Li Tianqing confronted Chen Shi about the deaths near Huangpo Village.
  • Li Jindou discovered that the kiln’s domain centered on a movable Eight-Armed Mother Bodhisattva statue, and Chen Shi and Li Tianqing found a petrified Great Ming Treasure Ship nearby.
  • Zhao Yanlong sent Zhao Cunyi to kill Chen Shi and Chen Yindu, but Grandpa revealed himself as Ganyang Mountain Person and burned Zhao Yanlong to ashes with a fire talisman.
  • The Evil Bodhisattva awakened in the kiln, turning Zhao family forces and the surrounding land to porcelain as Granny Sha, Prince Xiao, Jin Hongying, and Li Jindou gathered to fight it.
Chapters 27–52 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 27The River of Forgetfulness's Bottom, Ram Horn Copper Lamp

Granny Sha tried to summon Chen Shi back from the Underworld while he searched the River of Forgetfulness for the bronze lamp she had lost. After discovering the lamp in the grasp of a colossal skeleton, Chen Shi heard Granny Sha’s drum and reached for it, causing the skeleton to stir.

  • Granny Sha used her heart-blood to draw a Soul Summoning Talisman, then built an altar and opened a path toward the Underworld with King Wen’s Drum.
  • Chen Shi escaped Great Gu’s mouth as both he and the fish became skeletons, then searched the riverbed for Granny Sha’s bronze lamp.
  • A boy hiding inside a seashell sheltered Chen Shi from a thin, tall figure on a passing boat, which seized and swallowed another child.
  • Chen Shi realized the children hiding in the shells were drowned ghosts and followed a distant lamp light through increasingly heavy riverbed pressure.
  • Chen Shi found the bronze lamp in the hand of a colossal, bird-headed skeleton and heard Granny Sha call him back to the Yang World.
  • Chen Shi grabbed the lamp’s sheep-horn handle, and the tall skeleton quivered and shook off its accumulated sediment.

Ch. 28Eight Trigrams Stir the Winds and Clouds, Two Realms Shuttle and Leap the Dragon Gate

Chen Shi fled the River of Forgetfulness with the copper lamp while Granny Sha fought the Underworld monsters to bring him back to the Yang World. He emerged safely with Great Gu, but the injured Yin messenger pursuing him also crossed over.

  • Chen Shi stole the copper lamp from the awakened tall, thin skeleton and swam toward the surface as it pursued him.
  • Granny Sha stepped onto the bluestone path and used her Supreme Eight Trigrams Body Protection Art to fight the Yin messengers and guide Chen Shi toward the Yang World.
  • Chen Shi rode Great Gu through the turbulent river, evaded the skeleton inside the fish, and was swept across with them as the bluestone path collapsed.
  • Granny Sha returned to the altar, believing Chen Shi had been lost, before Great Gu leaped from the river and spat Chen Shi onto the riverbank.
  • The tall, thin skeleton crossed into the Yang World after Chen Shi, but Great Gu swallowed it and plunged back into the river.

Ch. 29As Reverence for the Gods

Chen Shi returned the Ram Horn Heavenly Spirit Lamp to Granny Sha, who recalled how her son Xiang Tianyu had died after she sent him into the Underworld for the Three Lives Stone. The next day, Granny Sha took Chen Shi into Ganyang Mountain to find an ancient temple, while Grandpa realized Chen Shi had concealed his trip to the Underworld and worried Granny Sha might endanger him again.

  • Granny Sha embraced Chen Shi after he returned with the lamp, then remembered how Xiang Tianyu had died in the Underworld while seeking the Three Lives Stone for her.
  • Granny Sha used the Ram Horn Heavenly Spirit Lamp to search the Underworld for her lost son, while Chen Shi went home and hid from Grandpa that he had already entered the Underworld.
  • Grandpa learned from Black Pot that Chen Shi had lied about his journey and grew angry at both the boy and Granny Sha.
  • Granny Sha fed Chen Shi and led him into Ganyang Mountain, where they offered incense to Granny Zhuang and received passage from a giant black snake spirit.

Ch. 30The Mountain Lord Temple's Sunlight

Chen Shi discovered the ruined Mountain Lord Temple hidden in Ganyang Mountain and made it his place to cultivate, befriending the mountain spirits as he restored it. After only a few days, he transformed his blood and saw sunlight from another world enter the hall, where he glimpsed a rising sun and wondered whether he could cross into that world.

  • Granny Sha led Chen Shi through Ganyang Mountain’s spirits to the Mountain Lord Temple, which had appeared after an earthquake and lay hidden beneath a vast tree.
  • Chen Shi found that the temple held dense, unusual incense power and that he could cultivate there, so he began cleaning and repairing the main hall while Granny Sha brought him food.
  • Chen Shi returned the next day with offerings, befriended the mountain spirits, and spent five days restoring the temple with their help.
  • Chen Shi found a huge turtle shell and an unopenable stone casket among the temple’s ruins, then continued burning incense as the temple’s extraordinary power accumulated.
  • After cultivating in the temple, Chen Shi achieved the first sign of transforming true blood and saw sunlight from another world illuminate the hall.
  • Chen Shi looked toward the other world’s rising sun and wondered whether he could cross through its radiance.

Ch. 31Relying on the Mountain to Eat from the Mountain

Chen Shi’s rapid cultivation left him dangerously hungry, so he was rescued by Granny Zhuang and the ginseng babies before hunting a Feng Xi for food. After cooking the spirit beast by a stream, he approached the long-fasting Xuan Shan with a roasted hind leg.

  • Chen Shi learned that transforming his true blood consumed food so quickly that he risked starving if he could not replenish himself.
  • Chen Shi collapsed from hunger on the mountain and was carried to Granny Zhuang’s tree hollow, where she fed him Ginseng Grass Fruits.
  • Granny Zhuang recalled that thunder-fire had destroyed her main body roughly six thousand years earlier, frightening her as she remembered the event.
  • After exhausting the food supplies of his family and nearby villages, Chen Shi went into the mountains to hunt.
  • Chen Shi killed a Feng Xi, prepared and roasted its meat by a stream, and shared a hind leg with the watching Xuan Shan.

Ch. 32Acting Like a Tyrant

Chen Shi completed the transformation of his true blood, returned to Huangpo Village, and shared spirit beast meat with the villagers and his family. Meanwhile, Zhao Yue arrived in Huangyang Village with his relatives and Imperial Guards to investigate Iron Brush Old Man’s death, accusing the villagers of hiring assassins.

  • The Great Serpent Xuan Shan ate Chen Shi’s roasted Feng Xi leg, then guided him through cultivation in his dreams until his true blood transformed.
  • Chen Shi reached the Five Viscera Complete Truth stage and left the mountains with a pot full of spirit beast meat.
  • Chen Shi distributed meat to Granny Sha, Grandma Yuzhu, and other villagers before returning home, where Grandpa welcomed him with new clothes.
  • Grandpa told Chen Shi how he subdued a donkey that had become an evil entity and sold it back to the Wang family, prompting Chen Shi to wonder whether Black Pot could become one too.
  • Liu Fugui was kicked into a ditch by a young man accompanying Zhao Yue, and he landed on a large white carp.
  • Zhao Yue reprimanded his companions for mistreating villagers, then questioned Huangyang Village about Iron Brush Old Man’s death and accused them of hiring assassins.

Ch. 33Ambush

Zhao Yue’s Imperial Guards tortured Yangcun’s villagers until a woman revealed that Chen Shi had killed Iron Brush Old Man and Steward Zhao Ming. The Zhao family ambushed Chen Shi on his way to the Mountain Lord Temple, but he broke their talisman trap and struck down Fu Shank.

  • Zhao Yue threatened Yangcun’s villagers until Sanwang stood up to defend them, and He Lian Zheng killed him with the Three-Eyed Firearm.
  • After Imperial Guards tortured a woman into confessing, Zhao Yue learned that Chen Shi of Huangpo Village had killed Iron Brush Old Man and Steward Zhao Ming.
  • Sanwang’s ghost reached Chen Shi’s courtyard and tried to warn him, but Chen Shi mistook the encounter for a dream.
  • The next morning, Fu Shank and three Zhao family Imperial Guards ambushed Chen Shi with talismans and confiscated his two Jia Ma Talismans.
  • Chen Shi broke free of the Spirit Snake Talisman and shattered Fu Shank’s throat and neck with a swift strike.

Ch. 34Feet Swift as Horses, Palms Slay Elites

Chen Shi defeated Fu Shank and two Zhao family Imperial Guards after they tried to capture him, then returned home and set out for Huangyang Village to find Third Young Master Zhao. The chapter left Chen Shi quietly entering the village, determined to settle the trouble himself and protect his grandfather and the villagers.

  • Chen Shi killed Fu Shank and evaded the Imperial Guard's Zi Wu Zhan Xie Sword after the guard's collision with him proved fatal.
  • Two Imperial Guards pursued Chen Shi through a cornfield with sword qi, but he ambushed and killed them after the Mountain Moving Talisman expired.
  • Chen Shi collected talismans from the dead, left their silver behind, and wondered whether Sanwang's dream warning meant something had happened in Huangyang Village.
  • Chen Shi returned home, changed his torn clothes, and told Heishuo he was going to kill someone.
  • Chen Shi went to Huangyang Village, identified Third Young Master Zhao as his likely target, and vaulted over the southwest wall rather than enter through the village gate.

Ch. 35Certain Kill

Chen Shi entered Huangyang Village and discovered that Sanwang had been killed while the villagers were being forced to prepare a meal for the Zhao Family’s party. When Zhao Yue realized Chen Shi had escaped corporal punishment and exposed himself, Chen Shi attacked, killing Zhao Yue and striking Zhao Xue'e as He Lian Zheng moved to stop him.

  • Chen Shi left Fugui’s house and found the villagers injured and forced by Imperial Guards to prepare a banquet.
  • Chen Shi saw Sanwang’s body outside the temple and steadied himself before entering.
  • Chen Shi served the food to Zhao Yue, Zhao Xue'e, and the other Zhao Family disciples while He Lian Zheng watched him closely.
  • He Lian Zheng ordered Chen Shi to taste every dish, and Chen Shi used the meal to assess his chance to strike.
  • Zhao Yue noticed Chen Shi had no whip marks and alerted He Lian Zheng, who reached for his firearm.
  • Chen Shi drove a chopstick through Zhao Yue’s head and stabbed Zhao Xue'e in the heart.

Ch. 36Opening the Banquet

Chen Shi launched a sudden attack in the ancient temple and killed Zhao Yue, Zhao Xue'e, and the Zhao family guards despite He Lian Zheng's attempts to stop him. He ended the fight by killing the last Zhao family member, Zhao Rui, and left the provincial Zhao family with no survivors.

  • Chen Shi killed Zhao Yue and Zhao Xue'e with chopsticks, then attacked the Imperial Guards as He Lian Zheng charged at him.
  • Chen Shi killed several Imperial Guards and Zhao Yan in the temple's chaotic melee, using fists, chair legs, and a porcelain shard.
  • An Imperial Guard's sword qi killed another Zhao family disciple, while He Lian Zheng struck Chen Shi with his Three-Eyed Firearm and blasted apart part of the temple wall.
  • Chen Shi dodged He Lian Zheng's shots and sword qi, then slipped back inside the temple instead of fleeing through the opening.
  • He Lian Zheng returned to the temple and saw Chen Shi kill Zhao Rui, leaving all six members of the Zhao family dead.

Ch. 37Revenge Requires Blood, Cutting Weeds Requires Eradicating the Roots

Chen Shi escaped He Lian Zheng’s sword attack and pursued him after the Imperial Guards scattered, determined to avenge the peasant He Lian Zheng had killed. When Floating Skulls lifted He Lian Zheng into the air at night, Chen Shi used the opening to kill him and leave.

  • He Lian Zheng’s close-range sword Qi wounded Chen Shi, who escaped the temple by using a corpse to block He Lian Zheng’s view.
  • Chen Shi fought past Imperial Guards as he fled, while He Lian Zheng stopped the pursuit and dismissed his men rather than face the Zhao family’s punishment.
  • Chen Shi confronted He Lian Zheng about the peasant’s death and refused his offer of silver, following him as He Lian Zheng tried to walk away.
  • After night fell, Floating Skulls emerged from the forest and one of them strangled and hoisted He Lian Zheng into the air.
  • Chen Shi attacked He Lian Zheng while he was caught by the Floating Skull, killed him, and escaped before the other skulls could surround him.

Ch. 38Seven Refinements of the Big Dipper

During a deadly heart episode on the post road, Chen Shi encountered Prince Xiao, who taught him how to use the Big Dipper’s star talismans to temper his body and suppress the ghost hand. Chen Shi survived and mastered the Seven Refinements, but his newly refined true qi still vanished from his dantian.

  • Chen Shi fled the floating skulls with the Jia Ma Talisman’s speed, but the bloody case at Huangyang Village triggered a severe heart episode as other sui pursued him.
  • Red shoes appeared across the road and further disoriented Chen Shi until Prince Xiao arrived in a lantern-lit carriage, scattering the evil sui.
  • Prince Xiao explained the talismanic structures within the Big Dipper stars and guided Chen Shi to step on Tian Shu, refining his bones and easing the pain.
  • Chen Shi followed the shifting star talismans through the seven stars, refining his blood, sinews, muscles, skin, true qi, and spirit as the ghost hand loosened its grip.
  • After the heart pain vanished, Chen Shi tried to gather his qi and blood into his dantian, but his true qi dissipated; Prince Xiao wondered whether Master Chen had never taught him these methods.

Ch. 39Wu Wang

Chen Shi accompanied Prince Xiao to Wuwang, a city where lies were punished, and learned that his seemingly ordinary Grandpa Chen Yindu had once become a nearly invincible cultivator through persistence. The chapter ended as a mysterious woman in red arrived to meet Prince Xiao and flirted with Chen Shi.

  • Chen Shi told Prince Xiao how he had fought the Zhao Family’s assassins and pursued their leader, and Prince Xiao praised his cultivation technique and chivalrous nature.
  • Prince Xiao offered to escort Chen Shi home after finishing his business, and encouraged him by telling the story of Chen Yindu’s rise from a poor cultivator to a mighty figure.
  • Chen Shi realized Prince Xiao’s story was about his grandfather and worried that the aging Chen Yindu needed someone to care for him.
  • Prince Xiao brought Chen Shi to Wuwang, a lively city of ghosts where anyone who lied had their tongue pulled out.
  • At a teahouse, Prince Xiao identified their arriving guest as a woman in red, who sat beside Chen Shi and asked whether he wanted to sleep with her.

Ch. 40Lightning Strike

Chen Shi waited in Wuwang City while Prince Xiao went to face Jin Hongying and the Divine Machine Battalion, then watched a fierce bombardment strike a mountain outside the city. As dawn approached, Chen Shi fled by carriage and discovered the damaged Hongyi Cannon and talisman-marked cannonballs that had fired on Prince Xiao.

  • Jin Hongying demanded that Prince Xiao return the Divine Machine Battalion's stolen treasure, and Prince Xiao refused before leaving to meet her in battle.
  • Chen Shi learned that Wuwang City punished lies by pulling out the liar's tongue and realized it was a Ghost and God Domain governed by truth.
  • Chen Shi watched lightning bombard a mountain for over an hour, where a tiny flash of cold light tried to intercept the strikes.
  • As dawn neared, Chen Shi escaped Wuwang City in Prince Xiao's carriage, which sped over the crowd and out through the city gate.
  • Chen Shi found a severed Hongyi Cannon and talisman-marked cannonballs along the road and realized the lightning had been cannon fire aimed at Prince Xiao.

Ch. 41Rescuing

Chen Shi found Prince Xiao gravely wounded after his swords had defeated the Divine Machine Battalion, and rescued him from the mountain. He brought Prince Xiao to Mirror Lake Villa for protection and recovery, then turned his thoughts to the Hongyi cannons and ascending the throne.

  • Chen Shi saw the Divine Machine Battalion soldiers and Hongyi cannons destroyed along the road, then witnessed Jin Hongying flee after Prince Xiao cut down a colossal goddess with his sword.
  • Chen Shi climbed the stone pillar and found Prince Xiao unconscious, but Prince Xiao’s two sentient swords initially threatened him.
  • Chen Shi used incense to calm the swords, checked that Prince Xiao was alive, and carried him down from the pillar with help from the long sword’s scabbard.
  • Chen Shi took Prince Xiao to Granny Zhuang, whose Ginseng Grass Fruit stabilized him but could not heal his severe thunder and spell injuries.
  • Chen Shi brought Prince Xiao to Mirror Lake Villa and placed him in his coffin, where the long sword joined him and the small sword kept watch outside.
  • Chen Shi concluded that Mirror Lake Villa could protect Prince Xiao from Jin Hongying and looked toward the carriage, thinking about the cannons and ascending the throne.

Ch. 42Clear Dream Suppresses the Star River

Chen Shi recovered a Hongyi Cannon, visited Huangyang Village, and resumed cultivating at the Mountain Lord Temple, where his body advanced toward the Saint Embryo Body. Meanwhile, Jin Hongying found Mirror Lake Villa and sent paper figures to attack Prince Xiao’s coffin, leaving the Bailao Sword facing a growing force.

  • Chen Shi took a Hongyi Cannon and its projectiles from Thunder-Hit Mountain to Huangpo Village, then hid his savings from Black Pot and agreed to buy the dog meat in exchange for its silence and blood for talismans.
  • Chen Shi bought Black Pot exotic beast meat and toys, reassured Huangyang Village that he would handle the Zhao family, and forgave Guanghao's wife after striking her twice.
  • Chen Shi offered incense to the mountain spirits and fruit spirits, then cultivated at the Mountain Lord Temple until his divine shrine stabilized and his body neared the Saint Embryo Body.
  • Jin Hongying tracked Prince Xiao to Mirror Lake Villa, suffered the villa’s pressure, and sent two paper figures inside to attack his coffin.
  • The Bailao Sword defeated the two paper figures, but more than a dozen arrived with paper weapons and prepared to attack the villa.

Ch. 43An Alternative Descent

Jin Hongying attacked Mirror Lake Villa but was driven away by Grandpa Chen, who then revealed to Prince Xiao that Chen Shi’s Azure Ghost Hand was consuming the souls of those he killed. Grandpa sought a godmother to suppress the threat, while Chen Shi advanced his cultivation and forged the Saint Embryo Body.

  • Jin Hongying sent an army of paper figures into Mirror Lake Villa, but Grandpa Chen’s voice shattered her attack and forced her to flee.
  • Grandpa Chen and Prince Xiao opened the coffins and found Prince Xiao awake; Grandpa explained that he had secretly followed Little Eleven to protect him.
  • Grandpa told Prince Xiao that Chen Shi’s Azure Ghost Hand was growing stronger and that the souls of people Chen Shi killed had vanished.
  • Grandpa admitted he feared Chen Shi could lose control and bring about a calamity, then asked Prince Xiao to become Chen Shi’s godmother, but Prince Xiao refused.
  • Grandpa resolved to find someone powerful enough to protect Chen Shi, even as he struggled with the possibility of having to kill his grandson.
  • Chen Shi cultivated the Five Viscera Complete Truth and completed the tempering of his true bones, realizing his physical body had become his Divine Embryo.

Ch. 44Accept It As It Comes

Chen Shi tested the power of his Sacred Embryo and welcomed Li Tianqing and his grandfather to Huangpo Village after they investigated Li Kefu’s death and deduced that the True King’s Tomb was nearby. The chapter ended with Chen Shi bringing the two guests to his home for the night.

  • Chen Shi tested his Sacred Embryo’s combat power, but his divine shrine and true qi still began to fade without a genuine divine embryo.
  • Chen Shi offered incense to stone tablet godmother and studied the Analects with Scholar Zhu while Li Tianqing and his grandfather searched near Yellow Earth Slope for clues about Li Kefu’s death.
  • Li Tianqing identified kaolin on the slope and deduced that a nearby kiln and the True King’s Tomb had once been there; he also proposed asking the hanging scholars for information about Li Kefu’s killer.
  • Li Tianqing’s grandfather tried to approach Yellow Earth Slope but retreated when an unseen force made the slope seem immense, then paid respects to Huangpo Village’s Godmother before entering.
  • Chen Shi introduced himself to Li Tianqing and invited him and his grandfather to stay at his home, and his grandfather accepted.

Ch. 45Sneaky Dog

Li Tianqing and Li Jindou stayed at Chen Shi’s home, where Li Jindou tested Chen Yindu’s mysterious power and was injured by it. Chen Shi led Li Tianqing and Li Jindou into the mountains, showing them the spirits he honored along the paths and explaining how they protected travelers.

  • Li Jindou noticed Chen Yindu’s name on a mourning tablet and sensed that the apparently living old man was becoming a malevolent Sui.
  • When Li Jindou tested Chen Yindu by exchanging silver, a sudden gale swept through the sky, and Li Jindou later suffered a backlash that forced him to swallow a spiritual pill.
  • Chen Shi and Li Tianqing prepared to fire the Hongyi Cannon, but Li Jindou stopped them and asked Chen Shi to lead the group to the kiln.
  • Li Tianqing briefly forgot his investigation into Seventh Uncle’s disappearance as he chatted and laughed with Chen Shi on the way into the mountains.
  • Chen Shi replaced red cloth strips and offered incense to mountain spirits, and Li Tianqing used a Heavenly Eye Talisman to see their faint forms.
  • Chen Shi explained that the spirits protected mountain travelers from beasts, bandits, and malevolent Sui, recalling how a tree spirit once saved him.

Ch. 46A Gentleman's Duel

Li Jindou entered the True King's Tomb kiln factory to investigate its ghost and god domain, while Li Tianqing confronted Chen Shi outside and revealed that he knew Chen Shi had killed Li Xiaoding. With his family’s survival at stake, Li Tianqing challenged Chen Shi to a duel, and Chen Shi showed him his newly strengthened body and footwork.

  • Li Jindou recognized the kiln factory’s ghost and god domain, marked its boundaries, and entered alone after telling Li Tianqing how to protect his mother and himself if he failed to return.
  • Inside the kiln factory, Li Jindou and his divine shrine and embryo rapidly turned into porcelain, while his Primordial Spirit continued investigating.
  • Li Tianqing accused Chen Shi of killing Li Xiaoding and linked him and his grandfather to the disappearances near Huangpo Village, but said Chen Shi had been protecting the villagers from treasure seekers.
  • Li Tianqing explained that he needed to earn credit to protect his mother and keep his place in the Li Family, then prepared to fight Chen Shi with the Six Yin Jade Wheel Art.
  • Chen Shi revealed that he had forged the Saint Embryo Body and demonstrated his speed, strength, and Big Dipper footwork before inviting Li Tianqing to fight.

Ch. 47The Kiln Factory is Terrifying, I Want to Return to the Village

Chen Shi and Li Tianqing fought fiercely with their respective techniques, then stopped before either could kill the other and became friends after sharing the truth about Li Xiaoding. Their conversation was interrupted when Li Jindou fled the kiln workshop in porcelain form, unable to resist the Ghost and God Domain's alienation, and pleaded to be taken back to the village.

  • Chen Shi sensed and evaded Li Tianqing's Six Yin Jade Wheels, then used a fallen tree and flying splinters to press him with a deadly punch.
  • Chen Shi realized Li Tianqing was trying to force him into the Ghost and God Domain, but Li Jindou pulled him back before the fight could end in death.
  • Chen Shi explained why he had killed Li Xiaoding, and Li Tianqing promised not to expose Chen Shi's involvement in Li Kefu's death.
  • Chen Shi invited Li Tianqing to help catch macaques, and the two made plans to work together.
  • Li Jindou burst out of the kiln workshop pursued by three kiln workers, but his body began turning to porcelain again despite his primordial spirit's efforts.
  • Li Jindou shouted for Chen Shi and Li Tianqing to take him back to the village, but they could not understand him.

Ch. 48Great Ming Treasure Ship

Chen Shi and Li Tianqing learned that a gigantic movable porcelain Bodhisattva was the source of the kiln workshop’s Ghost and God Domain, then followed an ancient road to a petrified ship that Li Tianqing identified as a Great Ming Treasure Ship. The ship connected their present world to the lost ancestral land of Great Ming, though its fate and any route home remained unknown.

  • Li Jindou communicated that he had found the kiln workshop’s origin: a huge, movable porcelain statue of the Eight-Armed Mother Bodhisattva, and he slowly worked to reverse his porcelanization in Huangpo Village.
  • Li Tianqing discovered an ancient road near the kiln workshop that he believed had once carried fired pottery to the True King’s Tomb, but Chen Shi said it did not lead there.
  • Chen Shi and Li Tianqing followed the broken road down to a dried riverbed, where they found a massive petrified ship and fossilized aquatic creatures from the former course of the Dejiang River.
  • Li Tianqing recognized the vessel as a Great Ming Treasure Ship and explained that Sanbao had led a fleet from Great Ming to settle the Western Ox Continent, whose people had lost contact with their ancestral land for over six thousand years.

Ch. 50Ganyang Mountain Man

Chen Shi and Li Tianqing discovered a petrified ship whose ghost and god domain briefly restored an ancient river, then escaped its reach. After Zhao Minrou returned to the Zhao Family and revealed the kiln, Zhao Yanlong sent Zhao Cunyi to kill Chen Shi and Chen Yindu, but Zhao Cunyi revealed that he was the legendary Ganyang Mountain Person and killed Zhao Yanlong with a simple fire talisman.

  • Li Tianqing nearly touched the petrified ship, triggering its ghost and god domain, and Chen Shi carried him out of the spreading grass before it reached them.
  • Li Tianqing said finding the ship would let him and his family report back to the Quanzhou Li Family, and Chen Shi warned him not to approach unknown things out of curiosity.
  • Zhao Minrou survived a perilous journey to the provincial capital, where she told Zhao Yanlong about the kiln and its four-headed, eight-armed porcelain statue.
  • Zhao Yanlong realized the statue might be the source of the ghost and god domain, then ordered Zhao Cunyi to kill Chen Shi and Chen Yindu.
  • Zhao Cunyi arrived at the Chen residence and found Chen Yindu in the mourning hall, where he revealed that he was Ganyang Mountain Person and burned Zhao Yanlong to ashes with a fire talisman.
  • Li Jindou watched from the west wing and recognized Grandpa as the author of Compendium of Talismans and creator of Heavenly Heart Righteous Qi Art.

Ch. 51Auntie Chen Shaved Ice

Li Jindou realized Ganyang Mountain Person was the legendary creator of the Heavenly Heart Righteous Qi Art, while Chen Shi and Li Tianqing spent the day catching macaques and enjoying the market. At the kiln factory, Zhao Yanlong’s expedition awakened the Eight-Armed Mother Bodhisattva statue, unleashing a spreading demonic domain that porcelanized everything in its path.

  • Li Jindou recognized the old man hosting him as Ganyang Mountain Person and wondered where Li Tianqing had gone.
  • Chen Shi and Li Tianqing caught six macaques, sold them for three taels of silver, and spent the day eating in town with Black Dog.
  • Zhao Yanlong led Xuan Ying Mansion’s disciples and Imperial Guards into the kiln factory, where they turned into porcelain dolls as they searched for the four-headed, eight-armed statue.
  • Chen Shi and Li Tianqing encountered a blocked mountain road and discovered that fish in a stream were turning into porcelain.
  • The Eight-Armed Mother Bodhisattva statue grew enormous, smashed Zhao Yanlong’s siblings, and sent a wave of porcelanization across the surrounding land.
  • Zhao Yanlong fled the kiln factory as Li Jindou realized a demon sealed inside the statue was spreading its domain.

Ch. 52Not Asking About Right or Wrong, Not Caring About Grudges, Not Considering the Future

A demon-grade disaster erupted around Ganyang Mountain as the Evil Bodhisattva awakened and its domain began turning living things into porcelain. Prince Xiao, Jin Hongying, Granny Sha, and Li Jindou joined forces to attack it, while fleeing Zhao family survivors discovered the demon domain’s boundary looped them back inside.

  • Li Jindou realized the kiln’s aura signaled a demon-grade disaster and hurried out to find help, while Prince Xiao, Granny Sha, and Jin Hongying also set out to confront the threat.
  • Prince Xiao and Jin Hongying agreed to put aside their feud temporarily, and Granny Sha and Li Jindou joined them near the kiln.
  • Zhao Cuns turned into a porcelain doll, Zhao Cunxiang was crushed by the Evil Bodhisattva’s pestle, and Zhao Cunping fled before an arrow pinned him to a mountain.
  • The four fighters faced the blue-and-white Evil Bodhisattva and its kiln workers, then launched their attacks at the workers while Granny Sha searched for the demon soul.
  • Zhao family guards tried to escape with porcelain-fied Zhao Yanlong, but the demon domain’s Corridor returned them inside and dropped many riders from the sky.
