Chen Shi traveled across the provinces reviving gods and protecting people while his sealed memories began to return. As the Divine Capital and Despair Slope converged on Beilai City, Chen Yindu led his companions toward Despair Slope to capture Heavenly Dao Walkers and infiltrate it.

• Chen Shi succumbed to the Blood Transformation Divine Blade and killed Zhong Wuwang's rescuer Daoist Wei Luowei after Daoist Wei tried to suppress the blade and explain the loss of Chen Shi's Innate Dao Embryo.
• Chen Shi killed Ren Xiao and the forces in Bozhou, then escaped the Divine Capital's emissaries with Fairy Xiaoduan and transformed ghost tribes into human descendants of Great Shang through his Dao field.
• Chen Shi gathered companions, revived deities, helped Yang Bi rebuild his life, and persuaded Saintess Xuan to join the Red Mountain Hall Talisman Association.

• Chen Shi’s demonic dao field restored transformed beings and steadied evil qi, while the Grand Libationer warned him that Despair Slope’s Heavenly Dao Walkers were hunting him.
• Chen Shi returned to Huangpo Village, reunited with his family, and helped Fairy Xiaoduan witness the awakening of Empress Houtu’s temple before restoring the ghost races of Tianchi Capital City to their human forms.
• Chen Shi and Fairy Xiaoduan found the ruins of Great Shang and saw Chen Yindu’s group perform the Pu Tian Great Offering, which awakened the True God and restored the sun.
• Chen Shi reunited Chen Yindu with the villagers, killed Yan Xianshi, and awakened the sealed rogue cultivators before setting out to reclaim the Immortal Capital and destroy the Yan family.

Chen Shi uncovered the Heavenly Venerate’s role in the demonic corruption, forged a new path to immortality, and prepared to challenge Despair Slope. Empress Houtu named him the True King as Chen Tang organized his rebellion and the forces began gathering at New Xiang City.

• Yan Shaoxuan tested Chen Shi’s Dao Field with fourteen techniques, but he defeated her and declared her vitality cut off as she fell into the Dejiang River.
• Chen Shi fought Zhong Wuwang, then joined him and Yang Bi in exploring the ruined Great Shang Heavenly Court, where they found Wu Qi’s remains and studied the Undying Immortal Method.
• Chen Shi completed a new immortal cultivation method and survived his tribulation as the Fog Moon attacked, while his allies helped split the moon and wound the Heavenly Lord.
• Empress Houtu revived and aided Chen Shi’s allies, while Chen Shi studied the Dao and urged others to pursue a new path that did not rely on divine embryos.
• Zhong Wuwang achieved Dao Integration through his own Void Realm, but the Heavenly Lord later executed him after he investigated the demonic corruption with Immortal Kou.

• Empress Houtu named Chen Shi the True King and gave him the West King's Jade Seal, while Chen Tang recruited officials and rogue cultivators and marched with the Divine Machine Battalion toward New Xiang City.
