Just as A Tai was about to throw out the compressed fireball, a blinding blue light appeared in the sky. A massive blue sphere came hurtling down at incredible speed toward the ground ahead of us.
We were all dumbfounded, and A Tai stopped what he was doing.
I saw the giant-like Beelzebub suddenly retreat as well.
The hellhounds, however, remained completely unaware. Only when the enormous blue sphere crashed down did we hear a deafening boom. Then it transformed into a mass of blue flames that spread like an ocean in the blink of an eye, swallowing up the hellhounds.
The hellhounds were utterly unable to resist. They let out mournful, agonized cries, and every hellhound touched by the blue flames was burned to ashes.
Yet the ocean formed by those blue flames did not engulf us as well. It was as though something had isolated us from that sea of blue fire.
At that moment, I heard Beelzebub roar, "Abaddon, look what you've done!"
Abaddon!
Wasn't he one of the seven demons under Satan as well?
The legendary King of Plague.
"Beelzebub, aren't you afraid the master will kill you for doing such things behind his back?"
A figure appeared before us. He was a middle-aged man dressed in a simple white robe. He looked handsome and unrestrained, with a heroic air between his brows.
He was Abaddon? No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't associate him with plague. In my mind, the King of Plague should have been some filthy, revolting-looking creature. I hadn't expected him to be this good-looking.
"Beelzebub, I'm very curious. What benefits did the Church offer you that made you betray the master?"
Abaddon slowly stepped forward. Beelzebub looked at him. "Didn't they send people to stop you? Could it be..."
