Background / History
Enik is a civilian Star Spirit administrator assigned to the Ai System. As its highest-ranking official, Enik oversees the system's affairs from the rear rather than serving as a frontline combatant. Their position makes them one of only four system leaders within the Star Spirit Civilization. 211 218 241
When the Galactic Civilization's Pixiu arrives in the Ai System, Enik personally receives Ding Yingzhong's aid team. Enik provides access to Star Spirit monitoring records, facilities, and the internal data space needed for the team's strategic analysis. Their first interactions reveal a major cultural gap: Enik mistakes a welcome banquet for a “Hongmen Banquet” and initially mistakes a forceful handshake for a sign of greater friendliness. 211 212 214
Enik becomes closely involved with the Galactic aid mission, observing Ding Yingzhong's tactical methods and the Galactic Civilization's broadly accessible virtual-space technology. The disparity between Star Spirit gene-based knowledge inheritance and Galactic methods of education, analysis, and military command leaves Enik both envious and eager to learn. 214 217
Although initially exempt from frontline service, Enik elects to accompany the Galactic fleet as an overseer for Star Spirit communications equipment. Enik arranges a successor for the Ai System before departing, insisting that Ding Yingzhong's group need not be responsible for their safety. 241
Appearance
Enik is a Star Spirit with hair covering the implant site beneath the back of the head. They later develop a noticeably bulging belly after prolonged exposure to Galactic cuisine. 212 241
- A thumbnail-sized new-generation multi-data processor is embedded below the back of the head and directly linked to the nerves. 212
- Wears specialized Star Spirit protective equipment during official meetings and exchanges. 212
- Wears the Star Spirit Civilization's highest-grade ceremonial attire during the Galactic Civilization's Hero's Homecoming ceremony. 267
- After a year in the Galactic Civilization's residential area, Enik and the other exchange students are described as having gained significant weight. 275
Personality
Enik is enthusiastic, curious, and unusually literal in cross-cultural exchanges. They openly ask questions when encountering unfamiliar customs or tactical concepts, even when the questions expose a lack of understanding. This includes confusing a welcome banquet with a hostile “Hongmen Banquet,” questioning why an incorrect prediction is not automatically a loss, and gripping Ding Yingzhong's hand hard enough to produce metallic grinding. 211 212
Food rapidly becomes Enik's greatest personal interest. After trying Galactic food, Enik undergoes a medical examination rather than immediately assuming it is safe, then requests additional meals for personal testing and for the Star Spirit leader. Enik later becomes willing to negotiate competitive-mecha prizes around priority access to gourmet food. 216 276
Despite this naivety, Enik adapts quickly. They recognize the fundamental cultural gap preventing Star Spirit students from understanding Galactic education, lead the request to extend their studies from the basics, and later show greater caution, tactical judgment, and political awareness. 271 303 394
Abilities & Skills
Ai System Administration
As the Ai System's highest-ranking official, Enik can coordinate personnel, arrange data retrieval, manage accommodations, and provide visiting allies access to Star Spirit facilities. 211 212
- Arranged monitoring-equipment repair records for Ding Yingzhong's strategic team. 211
- Prepared residences modified for Galactic visitors and explained the use of Star Spirit multi-data processors. 212
- Hosted the Galactic team inside the Star Spirit command center and internal data space. 214
- Represented the Star Spirit leader during exchanges with Galactic officials and students. 269
Data-Space Operations
Enik is familiar with the Star Spirit Civilization's internal data space, a virtual working environment accessed through multi-data processors. 214
- Guides users through physical connection procedures and entry into the internal data space. 214
- Understands the mental-fluctuation requirements that limit Star Spirit access to the system. 214
- Operates within the Ai System's multi-level command center, where Star Spirit personnel process projected data. 214
Tactical Analysis and Command
Enik initially struggles with Galactic strategic concepts but gradually develops practical tactical judgment through the aid mission and subsequent study. 211 270 271
- Questions enemy-movement predictions and learns the strategic value of acting on incomplete information. 211
- Criticizes the attempt to permanently encode a tactic based on inferred individual food preferences, arguing that the tactic cannot be generalized without deeper psychological analysis. 225
- Helps formulate tactics alongside Mumu, Duan, and the other Star Spirit exchange students during the conflict with the Invading Fleet. 303
- Participates in command decisions that help a force of one thousand warships drive back an enemy fleet of one hundred thousand. 303
- Identifies suspiciously identical movement and firing data from the Invading Fleet during repeated probing attacks. 335
Intercivilizational Diplomacy
Enik acts as an intermediary between the Star Spirit Civilization, the Galactic Civilization, and later the Omo Te civilizations. 211 275 398
- Explains Multiple Particle Fusion Technology to Guo Yi and the Galactic Chief Executive Officer after receiving the Star Spirit leader's permission. 277
- Refuses to negotiate special-particle exchanges beyond their authority, redirecting Black Cat to the Star Spirit leader. 275 277
- Deals more cautiously with Moster emissaries after learning how seemingly harmless wording can reveal strategic information. 379 394
- Attempts to reassure the Omo Te representatives during the lead-up to the second exchange meeting, though without revealing confidential details. 398
Equipment / Items
- New-generation multi-data processor — A bio-energy-powered neural processor embedded beneath the back of Enik's head; supports communication, data handling, and access to Star Spirit systems. 212
- Star Spirit special mech — Protective equipment worn during the first formal handshake with Ding Yingzhong; the handshake between their suits produces a metallic grinding sound. 212
- Star Spirit communication equipment — Enik joins the Pixiu as an overseer when Star Spirit communications devices are installed on Galactic warships and mecha. 241
Relationships
- Ding Yingzhong — Galactic aid-team commander, teacher, and semi-friend. Ding patiently explains Galactic customs and strategy to Enik, while Enik later chooses to accompany Ding's fleet to the front. 211 212 241
- Black Cat — Galactic liaison who recognizes Enik's obsession with food, negotiates the Mecha Competition with them, and repeatedly seeks access to Star Spirit special particles. 218 275 276
- Shadow — Works alongside Black Cat during discussions with Enik about food, special particles, and the Mecha Competition. 275 276
- Guo Yi — Galactic Pioneer whom Enik initially hopes will teach the Star Spirit exchange students. Enik later explains particle-fusion technology to Guo Yi and challenges the VF-Custom Fighter Jet's operational practicality. 269 277 290
- Star Spirit leader — Enik's superior. The leader authorizes Enik's actions, approves their Ai System succession plan, and later considers executing Enik after their careless wording confirms the Omo Te civilizations' suspicions. 241 394
- Mumu and Duan — Fellow Star Spirit representatives and exchange students. The three coordinate student discussions, pursue Galactic education together, and participate in tactical command. 271 303
Story Role / Major Arcs
Ai System Aid Mission
Enik welcomes the Pixiu to the Ai System, supports the Galactic military-aid team with records and access to Star Spirit data systems, and observes the practical value of Galactic tactical analysis. 211 214
During this period, Enik's interest in Galactic food becomes a recurring point of cultural exchange. After discovering that Star Spirits can safely consume it, Enik seeks further testing, requests meals for the Star Spirit leader, and becomes known among the Galactic personnel as a food enthusiast. 215 216 218
Frontline Overseer
Despite being a civilian official, Enik chooses to accompany Ding Yingzhong's forces as the Star Spirit communications overseer aboard the Pixiu. They arrange a replacement for their Ai System position before taking the assignment. 241
Enik provides intelligence concerning unfamiliar Star Spirit and enemy technologies, though they occasionally withhold information they are not authorized to disclose. 242 257 258
Galactic Exchange Student
Enik leads the Star Spirit exchange students studying on the Galactic Civilization's homeworld. Initially expecting direct knowledge inheritance, Enik is disappointed by human-led teaching but comes to recognize that the differences between the civilizations begin at the cultural foundation. 269 271
Enik proposes extending the study period so the students can learn Galactic basic culture before attempting more advanced subjects. The Star Spirit leader approves the plan. 271
Mecha Competition
Seeking entertainment and gourmet-food privileges, Enik proposes a Mecha Competition between the Star Spirit and Galactic Civilizations. 275 276
The Star Spirit entrants attempt to imitate Galactic competitive mecha by adding engine nozzles without understanding their calculations or testing requirements. Their machines repeatedly explode or disassemble during the events, leaving Enik shocked but determined to continue competing. 284
Omo Te Diplomacy
After returning from study, Enik displays a sharper and more teasing approach toward the Omo Te emissaries, exploiting their fear of Galactic and Star Spirit strength. 378 379
Enik later inadvertently helps the emissaries infer the existence of a living Pioneer and Shield Technology by saying the Star Spirit Civilization “dared not” trade special particles. The Chief Executive Officer protects Enik from execution and assigns a 1,000-word reflection report instead. 393 394
Notable Quotes

- Enik's first attempt to use chopsticks ends with them gripping the chopsticks like daggers and scooping food instead of picking it up. 216
- Enik and the Star Spirit exchange students later write a chopstick-training guide exceeding 100,000 characters. 375
- Enik treats Ancient Style Roast Duck as a scarce strategic resource and conspires with Mumu and Duan to obtain five ducks without sharing them with other Star Spirits. 275
