Background / History

Konoha was founded when the Senju Clan and Uchiha Clan formed a joint army and signed an agreement with the Land of Fire. The village became the Daimyo's standing army, while the Daimyo supplied operating funds and agreed not to employ rival ninja clans; Konoha retained its own military discretion. 314

During the Chūnin Exams, the village continued hosting foreign feudal lords and dignitaries despite Orochimaru's threat, as cancelling the event would damage Konoha's prestige.
