As he prepared to pursue a Purple Mansion breakthrough, a message lured him to Qingxin Courtyard, where Soul Returnless and Blood Consort held Old Ghost Chihuo captive.

• Song Changsheng and Bai Zhengchun defeated the Eighth Adjudicator of Thunder King Hall after Song Changsheng dismantled the formation trapping Song Lutong and Song Luyun.
• Song Changsheng joined Sunset City's team for the Arena Competition, where his formation and combat skills helped the team advance to the final against the Golden Crow Sect.
• Song Changsheng defeated Xia Qingxue by awakening dharma power, winning Tuo Province for Sunset City and choosing Five Elements Peak as the Song Clan's new territory.
• Song Changsheng and his companions killed the Five Elements Spirit Beast, claimed the treasures within the mountain, and established a base while he forged the Five Elements Creation Seal.
• Song Changsheng brought clan reinforcements to Five Elements Peak, built a teleportation array, organized development of Zhangye County, and planned a Purple Mansion breakthrough in Sunset City.

Song Changsheng entered seclusion to break through to the Purple Mansion while the Blazing Sun Sect and Rong Clan attacked the Song Clan. After emerging, he was ambushed and killed He Tai, then faced Vast Sea and Rong Mingtao with his new Yin-Yang Annihilation ability beginning to awaken.

• Song Changsheng recovered the Heavenly Clarity Demon-Purging Mirror and the Demon Subduing Hall dead from the Blood Demon Sect’s Small World, then returned to Vast Peak and entered seclusion.
• While Song Changsheng cultivated, the Song Clan took in Song Yulong and Song Yushi’s refugees, and Song Xianming began teaching Song Qingyun.
• He Tai allied with Rong Mingtao and the Black Robe Persons, and their forces attacked the Song Clan’s strongholds as Song Luzhou rallied clan members and allies to defend them.
• The Song Clan repelled several assaults, though Song Changjun died in battle, while Song Qingxing helped defeat Zhang Hongguang’s force at Wangyue Market.
• Song Changsheng broke through to the Purple Mansion, discovered his Yin-Yang Annihilation divine ability, and hurried back to aid the clan.
• He Tai, Vast Sea, and Rong Mingtao ambushed Song Changsheng, but he escaped their formation, killed He Tai, and annihilated his soul.
• Vast Sea and Rong Mingtao caught up with Song Changsheng, who used Shen Qingxiu’s Exhausting Body Pill and invoked Yin-Yang Annihilation as enormous eyes began to open behind him.

Song Changsheng survived the ambush, destroyed the Blazing Sun Sect, and forced the Rong Clan to make amends while strengthening the Song Clan. After Song Xianyun’s death and a hidden attack by Su Ding, Song Changsheng set out for Gusu when Zhuang Yuechan’s Soul Lamp dimmed.

• Song Changsheng survived the battle with Vast Sea and Rong Mingtao, returned to his clan, and led the Song Clan in an assault that destroyed the Blazing Sun Sect and punished the Rong Clan.
• Song Changsheng reorganized the Song Clan, completed the Five Beast Battle Body trial, survived his Heavenly Lightning Tribulation, and held his Violet Palace Grand Ceremony.
• Su Ding attacked Song Changsheng through the Golden Crow Sect’s gift, but Song Changsheng broke free and destroyed Su Ding’s divine soul projection.
• Song Xianyun gave Song Changsheng his records before dying, and the Song Clan mourned him and appointed new elders.
• Song Changsheng approved Song Luyun’s contribution-point system, while Song Qingxing and Song Qingxi confessed their feelings and agreed to become Dao companions.
• Song Changsheng acquired the Violet Void Divine Fire, which consumed most of his Earth Core Cold Flame and began devouring purple qi.
• Niu Dazhuang told Song Changsheng that Zhuang Yuechan had stopped reporting and that her Soul Lamp had dimmed, so Song Changsheng left for Gusu with him.

Song Changsheng rescued Zhuang Yuechan, strengthened the Song Clan, and helped defeat the Blood Demon Sect’s plan to build a Sky Battleship. Years later, Song Qingyun’s first Combat Trial uncovered an immortal’s cave beneath Big Willow Village and brought the mysterious Coffin-Bearer into the story.

• Song Changsheng and Niu Dazhuang tracked Zhuang Yuechan to the Meteorite Mountain Range, where they joined Purple Fiend’s group and fought him after reaching an underground palace.
• Yusu tried to take over Zhuang Yuechan through a Conversion Array, but Song Changsheng destroyed Yusu’s Nascent Soul and rescued Yuechan.
• Song Changsheng brought the unconscious Zhuang Yuechan to the Black Market, where she gave him the Geng Metal Qi and he promised to wait for her.
• Song Changsheng mediated a dispute between the Azure Ape Wang Clan and the Heavenly Sword Sect, then helped organize an assault on the Blood Demon Sect’s stronghold at Blazing Mountain.
• The rescuers freed the kidnapped cultivators and destroyed the Blood Demon Sect’s unfinished Sky Battleship, and Lu Tianchou agreed to join the Song Clan to build a new one.
• Several young Song Clan members established Foundation and became Dao companions, while Song Changsheng entered seclusion and Song Qingyun began his first Combat Trial.
• Song Qingyun and his companions confronted Can Hun and his Corpse Ghosts in Big Willow Village, killed them, and uncovered the remains of an immortal’s cave after an earthquake.
