History

The Soul Banner gained the ability to condense Yin Soul Pills when it advanced to High-Grade Artifact status. At this stage, the ability was listed as Soul Gathering Pill, using Yin Souls and Sha Qi as its materials 22.

Tu Shan Jun first tested the pill on Old Man Xiang after determining that it might help a martial artist's Internal Qi advance. Old Man Xiang initially feared the egg-sized black pill, but survived its severe cold and gained enough Internal Qi to return to quasi First-Rate Expert status. A second pill allowed him to enter the Viscera Refining Realm and regain First-Rate Expert strength 38 40 41.

The pills later became central to Wen Yue's cultivation. Although Wen Yue could not fully absorb their potency at first, repeated controlled use enabled him to progress far beyond what his poor aptitude would normally allow 64 89 123.

After Ding Xie demonstrated that the pills benefited Foundation Establishment cultivators, Tu Shan Jun began selling them. Meteor Heart Pill Pavilion purchased four hundred Yin Soul Pills for 15,000 low-grade Spirit Stones, while Zi Shaoqing recognized their fast absorption and Divine Soul-nourishing properties 158 159.

The pills eventually became a major resource of the Taiyi Sect. Their reputation spread through Qianyuan, where they were regarded as the foremost cultivation medicinal pill and helped large numbers of Qi Condensation cultivators reach Foundation Establishment 648.

Under Meng Zhi, the Venerable Soul Banner's pill production became a strategic bargaining tool. The Yu Family agreed to exchange one Soul Transformation Yin Spirit for one hundred thousand Yin Soul Pills of the same realm, seeking to use the pills to strengthen its long-term foundation 875.
