Background / History

Medusa rules the Snake-People Race in the Tagor Desert, where her people have been driven into an increasingly restricted territory by surrounding human empires. She regards their survival as her personal responsibility and is willing to risk her life to break the race’s bloodline bottleneck. 4 11

She discovers Ning Su in his black-snake form, recognizes that he is unusual, names him “Little Black,” and brings him back to the Snake-People Race. What begins as her treating him as a pet develops into protection, companionship, trust, and eventually a romantic relationship. 1 2 5 18

Seeking the strength to protect her people, Medusa captures the Green Lotus Core Flame and gathers Ice Spirit Cold Spring to restrain its heat. Although Heavenly Flames innately suppress snake-type beings, she chooses to undergo rebirth through fire rather than wait for a natural breakthrough while her race remains threatened. 4 7 11

Her first evolution appears to fail when her Purple Giant Serpent body is burned into a charred corpse by the Green Lotus Core Flame. She instead survives as a Seven-Colored Little Snake after merging incompletely with the Seven-Colored Sky-Swallowing Python. In this weakened state, Ning Su becomes her caretaker and feeds her Fire Lotus Seeds. 14 17

Medusa later gains temporary human form but remains vulnerable to being suppressed by the python soul. Ning Su obtains and refines the Spirit Fusion Pill, allowing her to complete the fusion, reach Three-Star Dou Zong, and fully return as ruler of the Snake-People Race. 18 19 36 53
