Background / History

Qing Lin grew up in Stone Desert City as a mixed-blood girl with both human and Snake-People heritage. Taken in by Xiao Ding and Xiao Li, she nevertheless endured discrimination and exhausting servant work within the Iron Mercenary Group. She possessed no cultivation at the time and was treated as an aberration because of her bloodline. 20

While returning to Stone Desert City, her mercenary companions surrendered her to Luo Bu and the Sand Mercenary Group to save themselves. Luo Bu delivered her to Mo Ran of the Mo Family, who intended to take her away; Ning Su intervened and rescued her. 20 21

Initially hesitant to abandon the only life she knew, Qing Lin accepts Ning Su's invitation after he tells her to live for herself rather than endure an unhappy life. She chooses to leave Stone Desert City with him after learning that he is a Magical Beast and deciding that his kindness matters more than her fear. 21 23

Ning Su brings her to the Snake-People Race, where her mixed heritage again draws uneasy attention. Medusa recognizes her legendary Triple Jade-Green Snake Flower Pupils, permits her to stay, and orders that suitable cultivation methods be found for her. 35 37 38

Qing Lin is a petite young woman whose appearance combines a youthful, delicate bearing with traits inherited from the Snake-People. When Ning Su first meets her, her face is dusty from labor, but he notes her natural beauty; as she gains security and cultivation, she becomes more confident in her appearance. 21 24
