Nature and Cosmology
The Primordial Wilderness is an infinite realm of Existence, created by Great God Pangu. Unlike ordinary worlds, it is not constrained by finite spiritual energy or material resources: all things arise from Existence, and the realm continues expanding over time. Houtu estimates that it produces the equivalent of one Great Luo Supreme roughly every thousand Yuan Hui. 24 57 73
Buzhou Mountain is its defining landmark: a majestic pillar supporting heaven and earth, with the sun and moon circling it and stars guarding it. 2
- Heavenly Dao — The governing order of the realm; its recognition determines whether outsiders can properly establish themselves within the Primordial Wilderness. 36 37 42
- Heavenly Dao Origin — The manifested foundation of the Heavenly Dao, containing infinite laws and divine principles. It can preserve high-level scriptures, reinforce cultivation conditions, and be employed as an inexhaustible defensive power within the realm. 258 361 444
- River of Time — Great Luo beings may traverse and affect time nodes, while major conflicts can leave consequences across the realm’s timeline. 9 34 137
- Chaos — The outer expanse beyond the world, inhabited or traversed by remnants of pre-world-opening Gods and Devils, Chaos Demon Gods, and external worlds. 21 108 279
History
Creation and early eras
Great God Pangu created the Primordial Wilderness as the supreme creation of Existence. The later revelation surrounding the Myriad Heavens Dao Tree states that Pangu once felled the original tree and harvested the Myriad Heavens and Worlds to forge the Primordial Wilderness. 24 452
Following the Dragon-Han Calamity, Buzhou Mountain remains a major center of Innate life. Innate Divine Saints dominate this period, though they are later joined by races that reproduce and develop through bloodline inheritance. 2 36
The Great Luo era
Nuwa becomes the First Great Luo of the Primordial Wilderness, establishing the precedent of a being with a fully native Primordial Wilderness origin attaining the realm. Her breakthrough causes the world’s Great Dao to resonate throughout time and space. 8 9
The Primordial Wilderness undergoes a further transformation when three thousand Innate Divine Saints attain Great Luo simultaneously. Their completed Daos deepen the realm itself and disturb Chaos beyond its borders. 21
Dao Ancestor and the rise of the Human Race
Hongjun’s sermons at Purple Firmament Palace organize the dominant cultivation paths of the era. The Innate Divine Saints’ recognition of him provides the karmic foundation for his intended integration with the Heavenly Dao. 21 36
Nuwa subsequently creates the Human Race with the Heavenly Dao’s recognition. The resulting descent of merit establishes humanity as a central force in the future of the Primordial Wilderness. 38
Calamities and reconstruction
The Witch-Demon conflict devastates the realm on a massive scale. Although ruined mountains and spirit veins are later restored to their prior time nodes, fallen Great Luo Supremes and Quasi-Saints remain dead, leaving only their Innate Indestructible Spiritual Lights. The Witch Clan also relocates to the Underworld after establishing reincarnation. 137
Heavenly Dao Great Perfection
The filling of Heavenly Court divine positions leads to Heavenly Dao Great Perfection. The Heavenly Dao Origin manifests openly, while Chaos Pure Light spreads through Buzhou Mountain, major sacred mountains, Earth Veins, and the Six Paths of Reincarnation. 258
Era expansion and external war
World fragments returned by Chaos Demon Gods are integrated into the Primordial Wilderness, including a continent comparable to nearly half the Western Lands and the Karma Demon God’s world of countless universes. 279
Fang Xun later leads Primordial Great Luo Golden Immortals in assimilating Wuji Worlds. These acquisitions strengthen the Heavenly Dao Origin but also draw the Primordial Era into direct competition with the Mythological Worlds. 360 361
The conflict escalates into a war between the Primordial Wilderness Myriad Heavens and the Mythological Worlds. Fang Xun eventually declares total war, centralizing resources under the Heavenly Court and granting Selfless Limitless existences unrestricted access to the Heavenly Dao Origin. 447 474
Inhabitants and Civilization
- Innate Divine Saints — The earliest dominant population. Even the weakest are True Immortals, born with cultivation knowledge, strong talent, and immense lifespans. 36
- Human Race — Created by Nuwa and later guided by figures including Fang Xun and Hong Yi. Humanity develops from vulnerable settlements into a major civilization with immense destiny. 38 44 175
- Witch Clan — A body-refining race lacking Primordial Spirits. Though few in number, they rule the Underworld and control the Six Paths of Reincarnation. 32 137 253
- Demon Race — One of the largest powers in the realm, formed from numerous Innate Divine Saints and later absorbing developing bloodline races. 36 253
- Dragon, Phoenix, and Kirin Clans — Ancient hegemonic races whose aquatic, avian, and terrestrial vassal races span the Primordial Wilderness. 181
- Witch, Demon, and Human Tribes — Together account for more than ninety percent of the realm’s living beings and form the basis for the broader Human Path fortune. 253 254
Cultivation System
Immortal and Golden Immortal realms
Immortals possess infinite lifespans and do not age. Golden Immortals may revive through their Golden Immortal Dao Fruits so long as those fruits remain intact. 95
Great Luo Dao Realm
The Great Luo Dao Realm represents the pinnacle of Existence in the early Primordial Wilderness system. A Great Luo possesses infinite time and space, freedom across past, present, and future, and an Innate Indestructible Spiritual Light. 34 95
Paths beyond Great Luo
- Three Corpses Method — A path toward Nothingness, based on slaying the Three Corpses. 34
- Reversing to Limitlessness — Requires ascending the Innate Five Primes; described by Hongjun as the direct path toward Limitlessness. 24
- Merit Sainthood — Great merit and a Heavenly Dao token may grant the fruit of a Heavenly Dao Sage. 24
- Method of Reducing to Seek Emptiness — A later introduced path of Nothingness that broadens the options available to Zenith Heaven Golden Immortals of the Origin. 282
- Path of Existence — Demonstrated by Hong Yi, who proves that cultivation focused on Existence can advance beyond conventional expectations. 151 444
