Background
Morgan was Artoria's half-sister and initially a gentle, steadfast protector. When Artoria was bullied as a village girl, Morgan defended her; she later accompanied Artoria and Merlin on the pilgrimage that led to Artoria drawing the Sword in the Stone and becoming Albion's king. Morgan pledged to support their shared ambitions and helped prepare the pair for public appearances, including making their coronation robes. 3 102
Her relationship with them ruptured when Arthur proposed appointing Merlin as queen. Morgan's smile disappeared, and Buckingham Palace collapsed after Arthur repeated the proposal. By the time Hebe returned to the Secret History Simulator decades later, Morgan had become the Daylight-ranked Bewitching Consort and vanished from Arthur and Merlin's lives. 3
Morgan subsequently devised repeated schemes to ruin Albion. She created Mordred as an instrument against Arthur, arranged a rebellion intended to collapse the kingdom, and used the Twin Kings' uprising to bring her own great work close to completion. Arthur defeated and imprisoned her in the Tower of London after an earlier failure, but Morgan later escaped and became the Twin Kings' principal support. 1 3 6
During the Battle of Twilight, Morgan confronted Hebe directly. Her plan depended on Albion's decline and Arthur's eventual collapse; Hebe dismantled her conspiracies and defeated her through illusion magic. Despite this setback, Morgan's destruction of old Albion ultimately enabled her great work to be fulfilled anew. 3 4 5
In the modern era, Morgan searched obsessively for a woman identical to Merlin and used costly divination rituals to locate Hebe in Alfi Square. After fighting the Burning Witch in the Atlantic, she was excommunicated by Skyflint, leaving her with a mechanical heart. Hebe healed her with Avalon. 32 99 102
Hebe appointed Morgan as the Island Council of Blanckug's Standing Director and Director of Continuance. Morgan accepted responsibility for protecting Blanckug's freedom and secrets, later acting as its representative at the United Nations General Assembly. 103 105 163 171
Appearance
Morgan is a poised, aristocratic woman who normally takes great care with her presentation. Even before Arthur's coronation, she was responsible for arranging the clothing and accessories of those appearing in public. 102
- Long white hair, described as floating like withered seaweed when she was severely injured. 102
- Light-colored eyes. 102
- Slender hands and fingers used in both ritual gestures and curse-work. 100 105
- Four Great Marks manifest as halos behind her head in battle. 100
- Often carries herself with the pride and bearing of a queen. 103
Personality
Morgan is proud, exacting, and highly conscious of status. She values propriety, speaks coldly when displeased, and holds others to severe standards—particularly Toyokawa Shoko, whom she considers inadequate as an Ascender despite recognizing her potential as a Librarian. 102 104
She is also calculating and possessive. Morgan regards London as her territory, resents the presence of other powerful figures there, and carefully seeks to make the Silent Bookstore's relationships depend on her influence. Her long-term plan is to use her authority, her teaching relationship with Shoko, and her position on the Island Council to make herself indispensable to Hebe. 99 109 177
Her fixation on Hebe is both affection and obsession. Morgan spent years searching for her, calls Hebe her “lighthouse,” and is deeply distressed by Hebe's repeated attempts to endanger herself for others. 32 103 108 110
Despite her hostility toward Arthur and her destructive ambitions, Morgan is capable of regret and concern. She pitied Artoria after old Albion's destruction, worried over Hebe's injuries, and accepted a formal duty to maintain Blanckug's stability. 5 103 170
Abilities & Skills
Twilight of the Path of Calamity
Morgan is one of the few Twilight-level beings active in the modern era. Her high Status allows her to trigger disasters with comparatively little cost, while her imagery and symbolism can affect conflicts on a national scale. 156 163
- Commanded the battlefield against the Burning Witch by turning tides, weather, islands, and flames in her favor. 100
- Her clash with the Burning Witch altered ocean currents and created new islands in the Atlantic. 100
- Can contend with other Twilight-level opponents, though Skyflint's Excommunication severely injured her. 99 100 102
Royal Authority of the Island
Morgan inherited the Royal Authority of the Island as a Fae of the Lake. This authority supports her willfulness and her claim over Albion's fate. 4 99
- Used the First Seal, Fairy Eye, to observe and anchor a possible future onto the Twin Kings. 4
- Mortgaged this authority to obtain a weakened pseudo-merit and advance ahead of time. 4 17
- Invoked the authority with a Gaelic chant to raise rugged islands from the sea. 100
- Holds a significant environmental advantage when supported by the Atlantic Ocean and Tower Arts. 99
Mirror, Tower, Garden, and Coffin Sorceries
Morgan developed four major systems of sorcery to compensate for her functional weaknesses: Mirror, Tower, Garden, and Coffin. Their effects remain viable even against Twilight-level beings. 99
- Mirror Sorcery — enables spatial transfer, evasion, and teleportation. 99
- Water Mirror — used for divination and relocation; Morgan transferred both herself and the Burning Witch from London to the Atlantic. 99
- Tower Arts — can descend alongside her teleportation and reinforce her advantage over the sea. 99
- Limitation: Morgan lost access to Water Mirror Divination after using it to help Arthur investigate Merlin. 32
Divination and Fairy Eye
Morgan is an accomplished diviner whose Status makes ordinary divination unusually effective. When necessary, she uses large-scale rituals and borrowed Status to force answers from difficult targets. 32
- Located Hebe by using a Mist-Shifter as a ritual vessel and exploiting its connection to the Wasteland. 32
- Can perceive bloodlines and ancestors through Fairy Eye. 104
- Her perception was blocked by an unexplained white mist when examining Toyokawa Shoko and tracing her own bloodline toward the origins of the lake spirits. 100 104
Curse-work and Mark Invocation
Morgan can combine traditional curse gestures with the power of her Marks and Royal Authority. 100
- Pointing at an opponent serves as the opening motion for a Norman curse. 100
- Expanded the halos of her Four Great Marks before attacking the Burning Witch. 100
- Her own fire originated primarily from Cruel Wolf and later incorporated characteristics of Mr. Day. 99
Instruction and Secret Knowledge
Morgan possesses extensive knowledge of sorcery, history, bloodlines, Atlantis, and the Secret History. She is a harsh but effective instructor. 104 105
- Trained Toyokawa Shoko into a qualified Dawn Apprentice through intensive study and practical exercises. 104 105
- Explained the eras of history, the Secret History's blank periods, and the exceptional nature of the Knower. 105
- Knows that Atlantis—also called Ys or Agor—possesses a means to break free from fate, though her knowledge is incomplete. 110
Equipment / Items
- Sapphire — Morgan's multifunctional vessel; it can transform between a cruise ship, yacht, fishing boat, submarine, and aircraft carrier. 110
- Lance — wielded during her battle against the Burning Witch. 100
- Pearl Ring — a silver Authority Ring set with a rose-colored pearl; represents the Director of Continuance and is associated with the June Archon's holy artifact. 105
- Water Mirrors — used as defensive privacy measures when discussing sensitive information, particularly Atlantis. 110
Relationships
- Hebe Stanton / Merlin Ambrosius — Former pilgrimage companion and the object of Morgan's long-held affection and obsession. Morgan searched for her across many years, calls her a lighthouse, and ultimately serves under her as Blanckug's Director of Continuance. 3 32 103
- Arthur / Artoria — Half-sister and longtime rival. Morgan once supported Arthur's rise to kingship, but Arthur's proposal to make Merlin queen shattered their relationship; their hostility remains intense in the present. 3 171 176
- Mordred — Morgan's homunculus daughter, created from Arthur's blood and shaped by Morgan. Morgan raised her to hate Arthur and attempted to use her in a plan to destroy Albion. 6 32
- Toyokawa Shoko — Fellow Island Council member and Morgan's reluctant student. Morgan considers Shoko immature as an Ascender but suitable as a Librarian, while also attempting to exploit Shoko's desire for Hebe's affection. 104 109 177
- Burning Witch / Jeanne d'Arc — Twilight-level adversary. Their Atlantic battle caused islands and violent weather to form, and its altered outcome later created a divergence in history. 99 100 156
- Agravain — A creation of Morgan's early techniques; she implanted her sorcerous insights into him and forced him onto the Authority Path before Hebe placed him under Arthur's service. 97
Story Role / Major Arcs
Albion Lostbelt
Morgan serves as the central opposing force to Hebe's effort to preserve Arthur's Albion. By supporting the Twin Kings and exploiting her observed future, she attempts to fulfill her great work through Albion's destruction. 1 3 4
Search for Merlin
After returning to the modern era, Morgan reacts violently to reports of a woman identical to Merlin. She performs a major ritual to trace Hebe to Blanckug and continues pursuing her even after the two reunite. 32 103
Battle with the Burning Witch
Morgan forcibly moved the Burning Witch from London to the Atlantic and fought her with the support of the ocean, Tower Arts, and Royal Authority. The battle reshaped the sea and ended with Skyflint's Excommunication affecting both combatants. 99 100 156
Blanckug Island Council
Following Hebe's intervention and healing, Morgan becomes Blanckug's highest-Status Standing Director. She teaches Shoko, advises Hebe on Atlantis and Secret History, protects the Silent Bookstore's interests, and represents Blanckug internationally. 103 104 105 171
Conflict with Arthur's Return
