Background

Tang San was reborn with memories of a previous life in which he had been an outer disciple of the Tang Sect. He retained its secret techniques and talent for hidden-weapon crafting after arriving in Soul Land as Tang Hao’s infant son. 1 33

Tang Hao secluded himself with Tang San in Holy Soul Village following a severe injury. There, Tang San grew up alongside Su Ming, whom he came to regard sincerely as an elder brother. Their years of sparring sharpened Tang San’s combat ability well beyond that of ordinary children. 1 25

After his Martial Soul awakening, Tang San confided the secret of his Twin Martial Souls to Su Ming. Su Ming identified the potential of Tang San’s Blue Silver Grass and proposed developing it along a food- and support-type route while preserving the Clear Sky Hammer for direct combat. Tang San accepted Su Ming’s long-term cultivation guidance and agreed to help him seek revenge once they became strong enough. 6 7 32 33

At Nuoding Academy, Tang San rejected Yu Xiaogang’s recommendation to develop Blue Silver Grass through toughness and poison. Drawing on Su Ming’s teachings, he instead committed to using life-attribute plant Spirit Rings to pursue an eventual Blue Silver King evolution. 13 37

Appearance

Tang San is initially described as an ordinary-looking boy. As his cultivation progressed, his temperament became more serene and approachable, giving him a subtly handsome presence. 1 21

  • Ordinary facial features in childhood. 1
  • Calm, approachable bearing after following his revised cultivation path. 21
  • Often carries the storage Soul Tool Twenty-Four Bridges Moonlight Night. 51

Personality

Tang San is grateful toward those who care for him, particularly Su Ming and Old Jack’s household. He considers Su Ming a genuine elder brother and repeatedly seeks to repay his assistance rather than accepting help without reservation. 9 18 33

He has developed a strong sense of independence, declining Su Ming’s offer to move into a better dormitory because he does not want to rely on his brother for every non-essential need. 12 36

Tang San is protective of Xiao Wu and can become dangerously impulsive when she is harmed. When Zhao Wuji injured her, Tang San abandoned the team’s original plan, deployed his hidden weapons and Tang Sect techniques, and intended to make Zhao Wuji pay for it. 51

He is also notably generous with resources. After obtaining Moon Lotus Seeds, he shared them with his companions and teachers instead of keeping their benefits for himself. 98

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer, with his Innate Full Soul Power attributed to the quality of his second Martial Soul. 6 7

  • Blue Silver Grass — developed as a food- and support-type Martial Soul rather than a poison-control type. 16 17
  • Clear Sky Hammer — his second Martial Soul, intended for conventional combat development. 7 17
  • Blue Silver King potential — his Blue Silver Grass is believed to possess the bloodline and potential necessary to awaken into a Blue Silver King through suitable cultivation, life-attribute Spirit Rings, physical conditioning, Soul Power quality, and external treasures. 7 17 41
  • Twin-Martial-Soul synergy — he can consume food produced through Blue Silver Grass for buffs before switching to the Clear Sky Hammer; the food effects persist after the switch. 17

Tang San’s first Soul Skill, obtained from a nearly four-hundred-year Ice Peppermint Grass. 18

  • Produces peppermint-like Blue Silver Grass for consumption. 18
  • Stimulates the consumer, briefly improves mental strength and focus, and has no stated side effects. 18 42
  • Particularly useful when Tang San uses hidden weapons, since it improves alertness and concentration. 18

Blue Silver Sugarcane

Tang San’s second Soul Skill. 52

  • Activated in preparation to assist Su Ming’s recovery after battle. 52
  • Its precise effects are not specified. 52
