Background / History

Su Ming arrived in the Soul Land Plane as a transmigrator seeking to harvest Willpower/Votive Power by changing major plot events and provoking emotional shifts in important figures. He created Alter Egos from characters in his memories and placed them among different forces to expand this influence. 25

As an infant, he was found with the Three-One Jade Pendant and raised by Old Jack as a grandson. Though his original abilities were sealed, Su Ming resolved to repay Old Jack’s care and eventually bring him to the God Realm. 2

At six, Su Ming underwent Spirit Awakening alongside Tang San. He unveiled the Qi Martial Soul as a supposed inherited family Martial Soul, using its ethereal manifestation to strengthen the impression that he came from a hidden sect. He refused Su Yuntao’s offer to join Spirit Hall, instead identifying himself as the Sect Master of the Trinity Gate. 3 4

Su Ming deliberately redirected Tang San away from Yu Xiaogang’s guidance, offering him a personalized cultivation plan for both Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. Tang San accepted him wholeheartedly as an elder brother, while Tang Hao came to rely on Su Ming’s knowledge and assistance. 9 16 17

After graduating from Nuoding Academy, Su Ming traveled with Tang San and Xiao Wu to Shrek Academy. His three-ring configuration and level thirty-nine cultivation made him an immediate sensation; after defeating Zhao Wuji, he became Shrek’s sole School Board Director. 23 52 85

During the Star Dou Great Forest expedition, he acquired the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger’s Spirit Ring and External Spirit Bone, then demonstrated enough strength to confront the Titan Giant Ape and Sky Azure Bull Python. These events brought him into contact with Da Ming, Di Tian, and other high-level Soul Beasts. 96 100 106

Appearance

Su Ming is notably handsome and carries an unusual, noble aura that becomes increasingly difficult to conceal as his cultivation rises. Tang San compares his presence to that of an immortal from ancient texts. 11 21

  • During Qi Martial Soul manifestation, his body is covered in milky-white Qi and life-filled mist. 3
  • He can float without external support while his Martial Soul is active. 3
  • In a fully Qi-transformed state, attacks can pass through his body without drawing blood. 144
  • Sage Mode can give him white robes, flowing Qi-like hair, and an entirely Qi-composed body. 51
  • Evil God Transformation replaces his immortal-like presence with a terrifying evil aura. 100

Personality

Su Ming is calculating, ambitious, and exceptionally confident. He treats plot deviations, emotional reactions, and displays of overwhelming strength as opportunities to harvest Willpower/Votive Power. He prefers gradual manipulation over crude interference, believing that controlled changes provide greater long-term returns. 3 33

He is usually calm even when facing powerful opponents, and he plans years ahead: cultivating Tang San as an ally, establishing the Trinity Gate, influencing the Spirit Battle system, and eventually expanding into the God Realm. 31 56 113

His kindness is selective but genuine toward people he considers his own. He protects and educates Tang San, respects Old Jack’s care, helps Tang Hao seek a way to revive Ah Yin, and treats Xiao Wu as a younger sibling. However, he is willing to eliminate allies who become uncontrollable threats to his plans. 2 15 33 103

Abilities & Skills

Willpower/Votive Power Harvesting

Su Ming gains Willpower/Votive Power by changing the established storyline and causing substantial emotional fluctuations in influential people.

  • Creates Alter Egos and places them within major factions to create new plot developments. 25
  • Uses carefully staged revelations, battles, and prophecies to maximize reactions from witnesses. 4 53 113
  • Can use Willpower/Votive Power to develop techniques and temporarily strengthen himself. 52 102

Qi Martial Soul

Su Ming’s self-designed Martial Soul is based on the Trinity Gate’s Triple Reverse Cultivation and inspired by Hitori no Shita: The Outcast. He states that its quality exceeds that of a Super Martial Soul. 5 13

  • Produces life-filled white Qi that can cover and reinforce his body. 3
  • Allows levitation and aerial movement. 3
  • Enables complete Qi transformation, allowing physical attacks and elemental constructs to pass through him. 144
  • Has no fixed attribute, letting Su Ming incorporate attributes from absorbed Spirit Rings without corrupting the Martial Soul itself. 96 166

Transformation Path

Su Ming’s first Spirit Ability, obtained from a hundred-year Mirror Image Beast.

  • Transforms his Qi into another person’s Martial Soul after sensing it. 14 39
  • Can replicate the transformed Martial Soul’s Spirit Skills at the original user’s level. 39
  • Has been used to form Tang Hao’s Clear Sky Hammer from Qi. 14 52
  • Becomes substantially stronger when combined with Gathering Qi and Sage Mode. 52

One Qi Great Hand Seal

A self-created Qi technique used for suppression and direct offense.

  • Forms a massive handprint of white Qi. 18
  • Can subdue Soul Beasts, restrain opponents, shatter defenses, and refine incoming projectiles. 18 144
  • Its power is sufficient to crack Bai Ningbing’s reinforced ice shield and pin her movement. 144

Gathering Qi

Su Ming’s second Spirit Ability.

  • Raises his Soul Power and strengthens the Qi he manifests. 52
  • Enhances both Transformation Path and the Spirit Skills used through copied Martial Souls. 52
  • Remains useful at higher cultivation because it is a self-amplification ability rather than a fixed attack. 52

Formless

Su Ming’s third Spirit Ability, derived from a six-thousand-year Phantom Spirit Chameleon.

  • Minimizes his presence to the point that opponents can temporarily overlook or forget him. 52
  • Exploits the Phantom Spirit Chameleon’s extreme camouflage and presence-reduction traits. 52
  • Allowed him to evade Zhao Wuji’s awareness during their Shrek entrance battle. 52

Sage Mode

A special cultivation state Su Ming developed through continued research into his Qi Martial Soul and concepts drawn from Triple Reverse Cultivation.

  • Greatly increases his overall battle prowess. 52
  • Integrates Transformation Path with Replication, allowing him to use copied Martial Souls offensively. 52
  • Enables Divine Spirit, which re-sorts Spirit Ability effects back into raw Soul Power. 52
  • Divine Spirit can neutralize many Qi- or Soul Power-based attacks, but is not yet capable of completely dismantling every special technique. 52

Evil God Transformation

Su Ming’s fourth Soul Skill, obtained from the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger.

  • Greatly enhances his physical attributes and releases a powerful evil aura. 100
  • Lets him wield extreme evil Qi in techniques such as the Great Unity Wind Curtain. 103
  • The Great Unity Wind Curtain creates a rotating field of extreme evil Qi that erodes life force and resists powerful attacks. 103

Evil God Hook

An External Spirit Bone gained from the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger. Its cultivation rose from thirty thousand years to 170,000 years after Su Ming absorbed Myriad Year Cold Marrow. 96 170

  • Possesses the abilities Life-Death Arena, Evil God Thorn, and Devour. 170
  • Can form Evil God Armor, which enhances all of Su Ming’s states by 200%. 170
  • Evil God Armor has a 50% chance to mark attackers with the Mark of the Evil God and reflects 70% of incoming damage. 170

Dark Demon Evil God Tiger Soul Spirit

Su Ming created an artificial Soul Spirit in the form of a semi-transparent Dark Demon Evil God Tiger. 166

  • Wind Lightning Wings — Creates enormous wings of wind and lightning, improving speed and enabling storm-like afterimages and winged arrows. 166
  • Spatial-Temporal Warp — Places marks on terrain and allows rapid short-range teleportation between them. 167
  • Soul Devourer Break — A wide-area technique that drains life force and Soul Power from living targets within its range. Its lethality makes Su Ming cautious about using it openly. 167

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Three-One Jade Pendant — A special Soul Tool found with Su Ming as an infant. He later used it as the Trinity Gate’s sect token and stored a vast collection of texts within it. 2 5
  • Azure Nether Needle Talisman Treasure — A replicated talisman weapon stored in the pendant; it killed the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger in a single strike and still retained two uses afterward. 96

  • Tang San — Sworn younger brother, student, and intended long-term subordinate. Su Ming guides his Martial Soul development, while Tang San trusts him completely and vows to help him without hesitation. 1 9 17
  • Tang HaoTang San’s father and a powerful ally. Tang Hao assists Su Ming’s cultivation and Spirit Ring hunts in exchange for help seeking Ah Yin’s revival. 15 16
  • Xiao Wu — Treated by Su Ming as a younger sibling, though their relationship is often teasing and disciplinary. He knew she was a hundred-thousand-year Soul Beast from their first meeting. 21 103
