Seeking Investments at Rose Hotel

Balak Kingdom, Suotuo City.

Compared to tiny Notting City, Suotuo City, the Balak Kingdom's grain reserve, was countless times more prosperous. Even in the blazing summer, its streets bustled with voices, pedestrians, and carriages flowing endlessly by.

It was just past noon, and the scorching sun burned overhead.

Three young people entered through Suotuo City's north gate—one boy and two girls. They looked no older than their teens, yet not a drop of sweat could be seen on their foreheads. The blistering midday heat of summer seemed to have no effect on them whatsoever.

The young man walking in the middle was tall and slender. His ink-black, shoulder-length hair spilled over his white robes, and his face was as fair as polished jade, his gaze bright and clear. Under the sunlight, a faint sheen seemed to flow across his pale skin. His loose white cross-collared robes fluttered elegantly with every step, giving him an immortal air—he was as dashing as the esteemed readers themselves.

The girls at either side were about a head shorter than him, roughly 1.6 meters tall. One wore a light pink short skirt, the other a pale blue one. Both exposed part of their slender, snow-white thighs, smooth as congealed cream. Their waists were slim enough to fit in one hand, and at a glance, their figures were equally impressive.

Judging by their appearances, one was playful and lively, looking at everything on the street with curiosity, while the other was gentle and serene, graceful and poised, with a sweet smile curling her lips. Both were strikingly beautiful, but their temperaments seemed entirely different.

The handsome boy and beautiful girls walking together drew countless passersby to look back at them repeatedly.

Around a dozen meters behind them, Tang San trailed from afar with a gloomy expression. Ning Rongrong had warned him not to get too close—he smelled too bad!

"Damn it! I clearly changed into a new pair of shoes before leaving today. How do I smell? Those bastards are obviously targeting me!"

Not only had he been force-fed affection all the way behind the trio, but he had also been scorned in turn by both girls. Xu Changqing had not even said a word to defend him. Tang San was so angry his nose nearly went crooked.

"Shrek Academy won't begin accepting students until tomorrow. Changqing Gege, why don't we find somewhere to rest first? We've been walking all morning, and my legs are sore," Ning Rongrong complained with a pained face, hugging Xu Changqing's arm.

Xiao Wu shot her a sidelong glance. "You refused when we said we could ride the dragon and fly there faster. You insisted on taking in the scenery along the way, yet you're already done after walking this little. Someone really can't change her Young Miss temperament. Why don't you go find somewhere to rest? I'll keep sightseeing with Changqing Gege."

"In your dreams!"

Seeing that the two were about to start fighting again, Xu Changqing immediately said with a headache, "Let's find a hotel and book a room first. There are quite a lot of people in Suotuo City. I've already seen plenty of young people around our age along the way. They're probably here to enroll at Shrek Academy too. If we book too late, we might end up sleeping on the streets tonight."

Though Shrek Academy was not much to speak of, its promise that graduates could obtain noble status still attracted many commoner Soul Masters, who came with their families to enroll.

There really were quite a few children around their age coming and going on the streets.

After Xu Changqing's reminder, the two stopped bickering for the moment. They should find a hotel and have lunch first.

Xu Changqing had come to Suotuo City twice before, so he was fairly familiar with the roads. The first time, he had passed through while heading to Star Dou Great Forest to hunt a Soul Ring and had briefly restocked here. The second time, he had brought Ning Rongrong to hunt her level-thirty Soul Ring. The two had stayed for two days then and toured all of Suotuo City.

However, after visiting several hotels, they received the same reply every time: fully booked. That was until they reached the busiest central street in Suotuo City.

"Huh! Is that a hotel too?" Xiao Wu asked curiously, pointing at an oddly shaped building ahead.

It was a three-story hotel. It was not particularly large, but its design was exceedingly unusual. The entire hotel was decorated in rose red, and the building as a whole resembled the petals of a blooming rose. Above the main entrance were the words: Rose Hotel.

"It should be." Xu Changqing's mouth twitched. Without realizing it, they had arrived at Suotuo City's sacred hookup spot for young people. What a coincidence.

"This hotel looks great, so pretty! I'll go ask whether they have any rooms left!" After saying that, Xiao Wu hurried into the hotel, leaving Xu Changqing and Ning Rongrong exchanging looks. Xiao Wu did not know what this hotel was for, but how could the two of them not know?

Although they had slept together for several years, seen plenty of things they should not have seen, and accidentally touched plenty of things they should not have touched, they had never pierced through that final layer of window paper.

Ning Rongrong could talk boldly, but when it came to the real thing, she was a little timid. Xu Changqing also awkwardly rubbed his nose.

"Come on, let's go in and take a look. A hotel is a hotel. As long as we can sleep and rest, that's enough," Ning Rongrong said, her pretty face slightly red as she tugged Xu Changqing along. The two then walked inside together.

Outside the hotel, Tang San stared at the incredibly improper-looking establishment and was full of questions. Was it really appropriate for a single guy like him to go in?

Forget it, he should go in and see whether there were any vacant rooms. It was just a hotel; as long as he could sleep, that was enough. He still had to go register at Shrek Academy with them tomorrow. It would be troublesome if they separated and had to meet up again.

With that thought, Tang San quickly stepped inside as well.

The interior of the hotel was permeated with a rich rose fragrance. At the counter, a young receptionist with loosely tied long hair and a black professional uniform was talking with Xiao Wu.

Xu Changqing and Ning Rongrong walked over.

"How is it? Are there any vacant rooms?" he asked.

"Yes, and I've already checked in. It's just a little expensive."

Xiao Wu turned back with a smile and shook the room key in her hand.

Xu Changqing nodded at that, though he found it a little strange. Had the check-in process really gone that smoothly?

Had something changed from the original story?

"Hello, I'd like a room." Tang San walked over at that moment and spoke to the uniformed receptionist.

The receptionist struggled to pull her gaze away from Xu Changqing's group. It was not as if she had never seen one man with two women before, but the three of them were simply too eye-catching.

She looked at Tang San, who had come alone, and her mind went blank. This was the first time their hotel had ever seen someone booking a room by himself. This was a love hotel; everyone knew people came here to hook up and vent their desires. Could he be... different?

Was he here to do that thing?

She asked doubtfully, "Hello, will it just be one person?"

Tang San's mouth twitched. He felt as though someone had stabbed him in the heart. Impatiently, he said, "Does your hotel have a rule that one person can't book a room?"

"Not at all. The hotel just happens to have one last room available. Would you like to check in?"

"Do it." Tang San let out a breath and nodded.

"Certainly. I'll register you now."

"Wait!"

A sharp shout suddenly came from outside.
