Before long, the three of them found their room. The moment they opened the door and stepped inside, all three froze in stunned disbelief.

The entire room was decorated primarily in red and pink, right down to the furniture and carpet. Pink lighting illuminated scarlet rose petals scattered across the floor, filling the room with a sultry atmosphere as the unique fragrance of roses wafted over them.

In the center of the room hung a large heart-shaped bed suspended above the floor. A heart pattern made of roses adorned the thin bedding. With that floating bed alone, the room truly lived up to its name: "Inverted Phoenix."

Fine, those were just decorations. It was a love hotel, after all—those who knew, knew. Xu Changqing could accept that, but what the hell was with that completely transparent bathroom?

The three stood at the doorway, staring at one another. Ning Rongrong's originally fair face reddened at a visible speed, as though steam were rising from her head. Under the pink lights, she looked especially enticing, making one want to take a bite out of her.

Even the thick-skinned Xiao Wu realized something was off about this hotel. She stood there speechless, her face gradually turning from white to red as well.

It had to be said, this Rose Hotel really had something going for it. It was exceptionally good at creating a certain kind of atmosphere!

No wonder its prices were so high, yet business was still this good.

"We're already here, and we've booked the room. If we switch hotels now, they might all be full. How about we just make do for one day?" Xu Changqing rubbed his nose and said awkwardly.

"Th-then, okay... It's not like we'll be doing anything else." Ning Rongrong lowered her head, her toes scuffing at the carpet. Her reply was as soft as a mosquito's buzz and somewhat stuttered.

"What about you?" Xu Changqing looked at Xiao Wu.

"Me?" Xiao Wu puffed out her chest to encourage herself, raised her head, and said stubbornly, "I used to be the boss of Notting Academy. What haven't I seen? It's just a room with slightly strange decorations. What's the big deal? I've seen plenty."

She walked toward the heart-shaped bed as if nothing had happened, but her flushed little face gave her away. Her heart was probably far from calm too.

Xu Changqing rolled his eyes. Before entering this room, she probably hadn't even known what kind of hotel this was.

"You've been walking all morning, so you must be tired. Rest by yourselves first. I'll go buy lunch. While I'm gone, no fighting, got it!"

The instant Xu Changqing left, Xiao Wu and Ning Rongrong's gazes collided in the room.

"It's all your fault, you Rogue Rabbit! Of all the hotels you could've picked, you had to choose this one. Great, now everyone's embarrassed. Is this the kind of place people our age should be coming to?" Ning Rongrong sat on the soft sofa and angrily accused Xiao Wu.

"I wanted to. Anyway, I'm not embarrassed. If you're embarrassed, sleep on the sofa tonight! Changqing Gege and I will sleep on the bed, and it won't even be crowded!" Xiao Wu raised her chin and shot back without any courtesy.

"In your dreams!"

"Tch! You little vixen, always trying to steal him from me. If your grandfather weren't protecting you, see whether Sister Xiao Wu would beat you up!"

"You Rogue Rabbit, do you think I'm afraid of you? If you have the guts, fight me without using soul skills!"

"Come on, then! Sister Xiao Wu will give you one hand, so you won't make excuses and refuse to accept it when you lose later."

"You won?" he asked.

Dai Mubai, one of the original Shrek Seven Devils, had been crippled by Tang San just like that?

This was absurd beyond belief!

He did not even want to complain anymore. This was way too dramatic.

"You've misunderstood."

Tang San sneered. "That man brought two pretty sisters to a place like this. One look and it was obvious he was no good. Who knew how many decent girls he had harmed? I merely gave him a kick where it counted. You could say I indirectly rid the people of a scourge."

Why did Xu Changqing feel like this kid was hinting at something?

Thinking of Xiao Wu and Ning Rongrong in the room upstairs, Xu Changqing felt a chill between his legs. Tang San was a little too ruthless!

"This is probably worse than crippling him. Killing someone is merely taking their life, but this is killing the heart. He'll definitely hold a grudge against you from now on."

Xu Changqing shook his head speechlessly. If a man had lost even the ability to sleep with a woman, what was the point of living?

Dai Mubai probably hated Tang San to death right now.

When Tang San went to Shrek tomorrow, there would definitely be a spectacle.

Tang San turned sideways and watched Xu Changqing's departing back. Standing on the stairs, his gaze darkened slightly. "Killing the heart? Interesting. That's a good phrase. In his mind, sparing the other man's life was already an act of mercy. With Dai Mubai being such trash, the two of them probably would not have any dealings in the future. Tang San's eyes were sinister. His mood, which had only just improved somewhat, plunged back into the depths once more.

By the time Xu Changqing had personally prepared the ingredients in the hotel kitchen and returned to the second-floor room, half an hour had already passed.
