Bibi Dong became Pope of Spirit Hall five years before Ye Xiaobao's awakening, but her authority remained constrained. The Worship Hall refused to involve itself in palace affairs, while only Yue Guan and Gui Mei reliably obeyed her within the Hall of Elders. Qian Daoliu had supported her ascent after sparing her life for the sake of the child she carried, but he focused on raising Qian Renxue to inherit the Angel God's power rather than supporting Bibi Dong's political plans. 3
