Background / History

Ye Xiaobao transmigrated into the body of a six-year-old boy living in Spirit City with his older brother, Ye Dabao. Their parents had reportedly died six months earlier in a conflict involving Soul Masters, leaving Ye Dabao to support them through their father’s blacksmith shop. When their uncle violently seized the shop, Ye Xiaobao resolved to gain power and avenge those who had wronged his family. 1

His Martial Soul awakening revealed the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, a staff-type Tool Martial Soul whose pressure exhausted the awakening official’s Soul Power. His Innate Soul Power tested at the maximum level. 2 Recognizing both his potential and the danger posed by knowledge of it, Bibi Dong concealed the secret, eliminated the Purple-robed Bishop who knew too much, and accepted Ye Xiaobao as her disciple. 4

Bibi Dong personally taught him a meditation method and furnished him with resources, while Thousand Jun Douluo and Demon Subduing Douluo later trained him in cudgel techniques, weighted combat, and practical fighting. His rapid gains earned him an Enshrinement Token granting direct access to the Worship Hall. 4 10

Ye Xiaobao eventually reclaimed the family blacksmith shop for Ye Dabao, paying his uncle and cousin ten thousand Gold Soul Coins while continuing to investigate the circumstances behind his parents’ deaths. His hostility toward the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect became a central motive in his later actions. 14 15

Following deep meditation shortly after his awakening, Ye Xiaobao’s body becomes taller and stronger, with jade-like pale skin and more refined features. His appearance can be altered through the Transformation Method when he wishes to conceal his identity. 5 20

Ye Xiaobao is calculating, ambitious, and intensely focused on gaining enough strength to protect himself and those close to him. He is willing to align with Bibi Dong and Spirit Hall because they offer both protection and the means to pursue power, yet he remains independently strategic in deciding how to use that influence. 4 44

He generally remains calm when challenged, often refusing fights he sees as pointless or using overwhelming force only after his opponents persist. His confidence can become overconfidence, however; his confrontation with Tang Hao leaves him severely injured and forces him to acknowledge the limitations of his strength. 11 12 36

Despite his ruthlessness toward enemies and political obstacles, Ye Xiaobao is protective of people he considers family or allies.
