Background

Tang San originated as a Tang Sect disciple from Shu. In his previous life, he secretly learned the inner sect manuals, created Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus, and jumped from a cliff to prove his resolve before arriving in Douluo Continent. He retained techniques including Mysterious Heaven Skill, Purple Demon Eyes, Mysterious Jade Hand, Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, and Tang Sect hidden-weapon methods. 9

He grew up in Holy Soul Village as Tang Hao's son. For six years before his Martial Soul awakening, Xia Tianling educated him daily, emphasizing critical thought, skepticism, and considering matters from multiple perspectives. This guidance changed Tang San from indifference to calm acceptance and later made him question Yu Xiaogang's unusually eager offer of discipleship. 1 6

Tang San enrolled at Nuoding City Junior Soul Master Academy with Old Jack's support. Rather than immediately accepting Yu Xiaogang as his master, he agreed only to become a Registered Disciple after Yu promised help obtaining his first two Soul Rings. 6 7

Personality

Tang San is cautious, analytical, and pragmatic. He evaluates motives before accepting help, notably questioning why Yu Xiaogang wanted to take him as a disciple and weighing the Grand Master's weak practical record against his theoretical knowledge. 6 7

He is intensely devoted to cultivation, forging, and research. His genuine fascination with forging led him to seek Xia Tianling's advanced methods without hesitation, while his later work in the Spirit Research Institute demonstrates sustained interest in practical technological development. 138 326 439

His relationship with Tang Hao became a lasting source of anger. Tang San resented being neglected and forced to care for his father in childhood, though he still sought strength to revive Ah Yin. Over time, Xia Tianling's influence reshaped him into someone described as cultured, reasonable, and humble toward others. 181 444
