Background / History
Shrek Academy possesses a foundation spanning tens of thousands of years and is regarded as the continent's number one academy. Shrek City holds a transcendent status within the Sun Moon Federation and is excluded from its ordinary evaluations. 91 102
In the Ancient Era, the site of the present academy was Shrek City itself. After the Spirit Transfer Pagoda was founded, Shrek City expanded; the original city was incorporated into the academy, creating the city-scale institution now called Shrek Inner City. 109
For tens of thousands of years, Shrek maintained an undefeated myth in inter-academy competition. That record ended when Donghai Academy's Class Zero Representative Team defeated Shrek's temporary three-person team at the Tianhai Alliance Grand Competition. The loss became continent-wide news and dealt an unprecedented blow to the academy's reputation. 101 103
Campus & Governance
Shrek Inner City
Shrek Academy governs Shrek Inner City directly. The Inner City is quieter than the surrounding outer city, with broad Ancient Era-style streets, wooden buildings, and controlled access requiring academy-issued admission tokens. It maintains its own Law Enforcement Team independent of the Sun Moon Federation, giving it the character of a nation within a nation. 109
- Outer Court — The main instructional area and the busiest part of the Inner City, centered on Spirit Ice Plaza and surrounded by commercial streets and food stalls. 164
- Inner Court — A secluded, park-like complex in eastern Shrek Inner City. Its gate has no guards; the Inner Court's name itself serves as a deterrent. 109
- Sea God Island — Accessible for cultivation and study only to the most outstanding Inner Court students and direct disciples of Sea God's Pavilion Elders. 115
- Sea God's Pavilion — Located in a Golden Wooden House built against an ancient tree at the center of Sea God Island; it serves as the core of the academy and of Shrek City. 104
- Sparring Arena — A 100-meter-diameter arena in the Outer Court Main Teaching Building, outfitted with protection, analysis, and recording instruments. 110
- Mimicry Training Grounds — The Main Teaching Building contains 108 types of specialized cultivation grounds. 145
Sea God's Pavilion
Sea God's Pavilion is led by Pavilion Master Yun Ming and its elders. It determines major academy policy, including whether to intervene in exceptional students' development and how to handle disputes involving outside powers. 104 112
Admissions & Education
Admission Assessment

| Typical admission rate | Approximately one-fifth of applicants are admitted. 137 |
| Alternative placement | Candidates with notable Martial Souls, potential, skills, or special qualities may study as Work-Study Students even if they fail the standard assessment. 137 |
| Assessment venue | Shrek Building, the circular structure north of Spirit Ice Plaza. 137 |
Outer Court
The Outer Court has six grades, each with one class of roughly one hundred students, for a total enrollment of more than seven hundred. The first three grades gather the students with the greatest potential to enter the Inner Court. 138
- Inner Court qualification — Students may qualify by becoming a One-Word Battle Armor Master before age twenty; another stated route is becoming a Two-Word Dou Kai Master before age thirty-five. 138 186
- Outer Court graduation — Students must become One-Word Battle Armor Masters before age thirty-five. 138 186
- Core philosophy — Shrek prioritizes strength and results. Class officers are selected through competitive contests rather than conventional elections. 139 140
- Class-officer contest — First Grade Class One's selection melee placed 106 students in an Illusory Space, allowing temporary teams and unrestricted methods before judging results. 139 140
- Curriculum — Formal instruction assumes students have completed basic Martial Soul cultivation; Mecha Manufacturing is taught as a foundation for creating Battle Armor. 147
Contribution Points
Contribution Points are the academy's internal resource currency. They are required for access to facilities, high-grade food, and cultivation opportunities. 138 152
- Official students receive free, highly nutritious cafeteria meals, while superior dishes require Contribution Points. 152
- Outer Court Exclusive Training Grounds can provide cultivation amplification equivalent to Sea God Island, but students must pay Contribution Points to use them. 152
- The academy provides common Thousand Refinements First Grade rare metals for student Dou Kai creation, while allowing students to use rarer personal materials. 157
Reputation & Major Events
Tianhai Alliance Grand Competition
Shrek initially demonstrated its strength by crushing the Skysea Alliance Representative Team in less than a minute. Its decisive advantage came from Yu Yaoye's Ten-Thousand-Year Fourth Soul Skill and the team's support capabilities. 94
After Ye Xinglan provoked Donghai Academy's Class Zero, Shrek entered the group stage specifically to face them. The academy arranged for its team to participate in only that single match, regardless of the result, to limit the incident's impact on the competition. 97
Shrek's team—Yu Yaoye, Wu Rui, and Ye Xinglan—was defeated by Yu Nanyuan, Gu Yue, and Xu Xiaoyan. The result broke Shrek's undefeated myth and triggered widespread public debate across the Federation and beyond. 101 102
Challenge at Shrek's Gates
More than two years after the Tianhai defeat, Yu Nanyuan publicly challenged every Shrek student on the Young Talent List at the academy's main entrance. The challenge drew students from First Grade Class One and Second Grade Class One to the Sparring Arena. 109 110
The challenge forced Shrek's students and faculty to confront the gap between their confidence in the academy's legacy and Yu Nanyuan's power. Sea God's Pavilion Master Yun Ming and other elders personally observed the confrontations. 112
Class Zero's Enrollment
Despite their earlier victory over Shrek, every member of Donghai Academy's Class Zero Group later passed Shrek Academy's admission assessment and entered the Outer Court. 137
Yu Nanyuan subsequently became First Grade Class One's class monitor and was assigned Design, Manufacturing, Repair, and Forging committee positions because of his sub-professional ability. 144
External Representation
Shrek Academy later sent student teams to represent it in inter-academy events.
- Donghai Academy sparring competition — Gu Yue and Xu Xiaoyan represented Shrek in a two-versus-two match, while Yu Nanyuan fought Xu Xiaoyu in a one-versus-one match. 189
- Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy — Yu Nanyuan captained Shrek's team and defeated Sun Moon's captain, Long Chen, with one punch. 196
- Star Luo exchange — Yu Nanyuan led Shrek's delegation aboard the Star Luo for a year-long exchange trip to the Star Luo Continent. 230 238
Relationships
- Sea God's Pavilion — Shrek Academy's highest governing authority, based on Sea God Island. 104
- Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy — The only top-tier academy described as comparable to Shrek; the two institutions have a long-standing hostility rooted in historical conflict. 91 102
- Spirit Transfer Pagoda — Its founding contributed to Shrek City's expansion; current relations are described as superficially harmonious. 109 102
- Donghai Academy / Class Zero — Class Zero ended Shrek's undefeated myth before later enrolling as Shrek students. 101 137
- Star Luo Royal Academy — Participated in an exchange delegation with Shrek Academy, including an exhibition match arranged by both academies' senior representatives. 238 244
