Boom! Boom!
Two Quinjets standing by nearby were blasted into fireballs. Along with the pilots and several S.H.I.E.L.D. Strike Team agents, they were all buried in the flames.
A figure flashed past as the fully armed Wang Khan leaped into the cabin of the last Quinjet.
"S.H.I.E.L.D., today I'm wiping every last one of you out. Die!"
Several gunshots rang out as the quickest agents drew their pistols and fired at Wang Khan. Unfortunately, Wang Khan had already activated the Quake Force Field, blocking every bullet without suffering so much as a scratch.
He raised the Vibranium Gauntlet and slammed it downward. Like a palm strike descending from the heavens, it instantly blasted out a crater more than thirty meters across.
The five agents within the crater's range were instantly reduced to pulp.
"Get out of here! Split up and run!"
Coulson felt as though he had been traumatized by the beating, but Wang Khan's actions this time were unlike before, when he would retreat after a brief fight. This time, just as he had said, he had come to kill.
Purple light flared. Wang Khan first delivered a heavy blow to the Quinjet beneath his feet, and the aircraft visibly broke down into scrap metal.
Then Wang Khan landed on the ground, pressing his right hand, clad in the Vibranium Gauntlet, against the earth. Violent vibrations spread outward in wave after wave like ocean surf.
Every agent fleeing outward lost their balance and fell. As the shockwaves grew stronger, they bounced uncontrollably as if they were on trampolines.
Not only people, but S.H.I.E.L.D.'s SUVs, jeeps, and even armored vehicles began bouncing as well.
At first, they only rose a few dozen centimeters off the ground, but after ten or so seconds, they were already several meters in the air.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
After a series of impacts, every vehicle was wrecked. Several engines were even thrown out from beneath their hoods.
If the vehicles had been battered so badly, the people were in even worse shape. Everyone, Coulson included, felt as though they had been tossed into a cocktail shaker and shaken violently in every direction dozens of times.
It felt as if their organs were about to spill from their mouths. Nearly seventy percent of them had snapped their necks or broken their spines amid the relentless shaking and had stopped breathing.
Wang Khan looked around and found that the only person still able to stand was Skye, whose arms were in casts.
An injured person like her could have stayed behind at the rear base instead of coming to the scene.
"I have to say, S.H.I.E.L.D. is pretty damn good at brainwashing. It hasn't even been that long, yet you're already so devoted to risking your life for them. What exactly are you hoping to gain?"
With both arms injured, Skye could not use Shockwave right now. However, a body modified by the Green Goblin Serum could not be dealt with by a few falls.
"Who the hell are you? Why did you modify me? Why did you turn me into a monster?! What do you have to do with my parents?"
Enduring the pain in her arms, Skye staggered toward him. Wang Khan raised his right hand and pressed it lightly in her direction.
A medium-strength shockwave blasted out and sent Skye flying. Before she could rise, Wang Khan rushed over and planted a foot on her chest.
"Heh, I didn't realize you had such a nice figure. Feels pretty good."
"You bastard, get off me!"
Skye was furious and humiliated, but with her arms severely injured, she had less than thirty percent of her fighting strength left. Unable to use Shockwave, she had no chance of fighting back against Wang Khan, whose physical strength matched her own.
"Listen carefully, stupid girl. The S.H.I.E.L.D. you serve is nothing more than a lawless violent organization. What they do best is create trouble themselves, then go solve that trouble. They look like saviors every day, but without them, this world would be far more peaceful."
"Y-you... who are you? Why are you doing this to me?!"
Skye's eyes reddened, tears welling in them.
Wang Khan bent down and leaned close to Skye.
"As for the abilities you have now, honestly, part of them really are my doing. Exceptional test subjects like you are rare even across the entire world. But the other part is power you possessed from birth. I merely awakened it ahead of time."
With that, Wang Khan slapped his left hand against the ground. Without the Vibranium Gauntlet's boost, this shockwave was not particularly powerful, but it was enough to launch Coulson through the air toward him.
He reached out, grabbed Coulson by the collar, and lifted the half-dead middle-aged man.
"Go back and tell that One-Eyed Dragon Director of yours that the gears of a new age have begun to turn. What that man failed to accomplish decades ago, we inheritors will certainly achieve. And only we can protect this Earth. S.H.I.E.L.D. can eat shit."
He threw Coulson to the ground, knocking him completely unconscious. Then Wang Khan walked over to the Destroyer Armor and hoisted it onto his shoulder.
At that moment, a faint engine hum arose. Skye turned her head, but saw nothing. Then an even stranger sight unfolded: Wang Khan carried the Destroyer Armor forward step by step, and after walking five or six meters, he suddenly vanished.
It was as if he had walked into an invisible house. Skye froze for a moment, then the faint engine noise gradually faded away until she could no longer hear it.
"An invisible plane? That guy has an invisible plane too?!"
Inside the new Quinjet, Wang Khan removed his helmet and looked toward the secured Destroyer Armor.
"Not a bad haul. Even in Asgard, this armor is a one-of-a-kind treasure. Only a spendthrift like Thor would throw it away without batting an eye. I have to say, what an idiot."
"But then again, he's the prince of Asgard and the future God-King. One set of armor really is nothing to him."
"Guardian, did you deliberately spare Coulson earlier so he could pass that message on to Nick Fury?"
Wang Khan sat back in the pilot's seat and chuckled.
"What do you think?"
"Based on my analysis of Nick Fury's personality, he will not fall for it so easily. Your attempt to use this to provoke a split within S.H.I.E.L.D. will likely have limited results."
"Heh, you're right. If S.H.I.E.L.D. were truly united, then what I said just now would indeed have no effect. But unfortunately, today's S.H.I.E.L.D. is practically a breeding ground for Hydra. As long as Nick Fury has even the slightest suspicion, it will trigger a magnitude-ten earthquake. Then all we need to do is watch from the sidelines as they fight each other to the death."
Red Queen did not ask where Wang Khan's intelligence had come from.
"What are we doing next? Continuing to cause trouble for S.H.I.E.L.D. and making them fully believe it?"
"There's no need. This is enough for now. If we go too far, it could backfire and leave us at a disadvantage. Next, we'll focus on researching Thor's bloodline and this armor. Oh, and Vibranium too. I'm extremely satisfied with the Vibranium Gauntlet's performance in this battle. Now I'm really looking forward to seeing the power of a full Vibranium suit."
Wang Khan returned from New Mexico with a full haul, while S.H.I.E.L.D. suffered devastating casualties and gained absolutely nothing. When Nick Fury arrived at Coulson's hospital room and heard the message relayed by him, his face immediately turned black as the bottom of a pot.
