"Enough playing around. Ask him what's going on here, and whether there are any truly intelligent races."
Chen Cheng blushed and urged Fox on.
Fox covered her mouth with a soft laugh, then clucked at the giant bird before her.
After hearing her, the bird flapped its wings and let out a shrill cry.
Chen Cheng didn't need to ask Fox to know the bird was furious.
"What happened? Did you ask him something painful? How did you make him so angry?"
As the bird lunged at Fox with its sharp beak, Chen Cheng subdued it and turned to her.
Fox's pretty face went pale. She told Chen Cheng:
"There are giants here. He's a war eagle they raised. That cry just alerted them."
Chen Cheng frowned. He had read about the Giant race in ancient texts. They had still existed in the savage age, but the Orc race had wiped them out.
He hadn't expected this ancient race to survive inside the ruins.
Thud, thud, thud. The earth rumbled, followed by the sound of great trees snapping. The giants the bird had called were clearly coming.
Chen Cheng recalled how the bird had joked with Fox earlier to stall for time. It clearly had some intelligence.
He summoned the Dragon Horn Sword, pressed it to the bird's forehead, and said:
"Submit or die."
Beside him, Fox translated his words for the bird.
In truth, the bird had begun trembling the moment Chen Cheng drew the Dragon Horn Sword. Though the dragon horn had been refined into a sword, no other materials had been mixed into it, so the blade still carried the Dragon Emperor's oppressive aura in full force.
Dragons ruled over all beasts in this world. Magic Beasts and ordinary animals alike had to prostrate themselves before one.
