Qin Yun held a Bolter in one hand and gripped a Power Sword tightly in the other as he strode at the very front of the team.
The Bolter roared, and Mutants exploded on impact.
Chunks of blood and flesh scattered in every direction, leaving bloody streaks across the bulkheads.
The Power Sword hummed, its ion field-wreathed blade tearing through the air.
Grotesque bodies of rotten flesh were sliced apart like tofu.
The Players followed closely behind Qin Yun, mopping up the remaining enemies.
The Mutants along the way were slaughtered before they could even react.
Even the slower Players could not get any kills.
"Damn it, you fucking Canyon kill-stealers, can't you slow down a little?!"
Scalp watched the Mutant before him get blown apart by a single shot. He turned toward the culprit, his face full of displeasure.
"If you suck, practice more. If you can't handle losing, don't play."
Old Bird blew the smoke from his muzzle, looking like some Wild West gunslinger.
"Fuck!" Scalp gave Old Bird the middle finger. "I'd like to see who sucks. It's time to make you bastard remember the terror brought by the CF Gun King."
Whoosh!
A laser shot through the air, piercing Scalp's thigh and sending him to the ground screaming.
"Haha, CF gun—ah!"
Before Old Bird could finish speaking, another laser bolt came flying in and struck his shoulder, making him scream as well.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Sharp whistles tore through the air one after another.
Dense ruby-red beams cut through the stagnant air.
They left scorching burn marks across the metal walls.
Seeing that things were going badly, the other Players hurried behind cover.
After observing for a moment, they discovered a group of corrupted armed crewmen standing atop a domed bridge in front of the Chapel of Prayers.
Their bodies were covered in Chaos markings. Holding Lasguns, they rained fire down on the Players from above.
The enemy firepower was fierce, and they held the high ground, so even Qin Yun had to temporarily avoid their edge.
He took cover behind a metal pedestal.
Every so often, he leaned out and fired his Bolter at the corrupted armed crewmen.
His aim was extremely accurate; one Bolter round was usually enough to take down an enemy.
"My leg!!"
Little Fatty, who had been trying to flank the enemy, was hit in the right leg while running. He ducked behind cover and screamed.
"You're injured. Do you want to fall back with the other wounded and get treated first?"
Twisted Man extended a hand and helped Little Fatty up.
"With an injury this minor, how can I leave the front line? What if I fall behind in kills? What if the progress for unlocking the new map slows down?"
"Keep charging. Don't worry about me. For the Emperor."
Without even a second of hesitation, Little Fatty directly rejected his teammate's suggestion.
The next second, he staggered to his feet and continued firing at the distant enemies.
Seeing this, the injured Scalp and Old Bird also climbed back to their feet.
"For the Emperor."
"For the Emperor."
They shouted as they fired at the enemy.
Seeing this, Qin Yun silently gave them a thumbs-up in his heart.
A team ranking and a new map had hooked these Players like eager fish.
Even wounded, they still had to remain loyal to the Emperor.
What was loyalty? This was loyalty.
"Feel the wrath of the Warp."
Ten-Timer gathered Warp energy between his hands.
He condensed an Aether Shard like an ice crystal.
Then threw it out.
In an instant, it blew the heads off two helmeted armed crewmen.
Psychic flames and blood gushed from the necks of the headless corpses.
"This psychic power just keeps getting stronger the more you use it. It can one-shot anyone wearing a helmet." Old Bird looked envious.
Ten-Timer flicked his hair and said coolly, "Get ready to cling to my thigh. The strongest mage in the Warhammer universe is about to be born."
"I'll kick Tzeentch and beat up Khorne—there's no one like me in Warhammer."
A short while later, Ten-Timer overused his psychic powers and dropped to his knees, clutching his head and screaming.
"Uh, looks like this thigh isn't very reliable."
The Warmaster pulled Ten-Timer to his feet.
"You're passable at killing enemies, but you're getting more and more practiced at kneeling."
Ten-Timer's face reddened, veins bulging across his forehead as he argued.
"How can a Psyker's kneeling be called kneeling? This is a reverent posture for resonating with the Warp."
This was followed by a string of remarks about the Emperor's blessings, how he would definitely become the strongest Psyker someday, punch Ahriman, kick One-Eyed Ogryn, and so on.
The other Players all burst into laughter.
For a moment, the battlefield was filled with cheer.
After a grueling battle.
Qin Yun and the Players finally shot down the corrupted armed crewmen one by one.
Afterward, they reached the Chapel of Prayers.
This should have been the most sacred place on the entire warship.
Now, it had become a filthy, horrifying place.
The rows of heroic statues had had their heads cut off and replaced with Mutants' heads bearing the Chaos mark of the Eight-Pointed Star.
The corpses of many Priests and Sisters hung from hooks and iron chains.
Their deaths were horribly miserable; each had suffered inhuman torment before dying.
Two Priests had also been impaled upon the sacred gates with profane iron thorns, like Christ on the cross.
The angel reliefs that had once decorated the gates had been ruined beyond recognition.
Undried blood and the bodily fluids of unknown creatures had left the floor sticky.
"Warhammer Online can even be played as a horror game!" Strategist frowned at the chapel's surroundings.
As soon as he spoke, heavy footsteps echoed out.
Two hulking figures over two meters tall emerged from the depths of the chapel, clad in heavy armor and covered in Chaos markings.
Their bodies had undergone severe mutation, sprouting bone spurs that made them look grotesque and terrifying.
A massive fuel tank was strapped to each of their backs, while their thick arms had fused with flamethrowers.
Upon seeing the Players, they let out low roars.
Then their pitch-black muzzles spewed streams of scorching fire at the Players.
The blazing flames swept toward them, forcing the Players to scatter for cover.
"Corrupted Ecclesiarchy executioners?"
"The fuel tanks on their backs should contain Promethium. That stuff is hard to put out, so be careful. If even a little gets on you, you'll burn to death alive."
Ten-Timer hid behind a colonnade and shouted at the other Players.
Though the rushing flames were blocked by the pillar, the heat still made his hair curl slightly and filled the air with the stench of singed hair.
"Burned to death alive? This game is realistic enough to let us burn to death?" Bald Monk's eyes widened.
Brother Zhong fired several shots, then hurried behind cover when flames came his way. He said to Bald Monk, "Given the official team's obsession with realism, at most they'll reduce the pain so you won't scream quite so miserably."
The executioners armed with flamethrowers suppressed the Players so thoroughly that they could barely move.
Even Qin Yun did not dare act rashly.
When Players were injured, their sense of pain would automatically be reduced.
Or, once the pain reached a certain threshold, they would disconnect and return to the real world.
But Qin Yun could not.
If the flames hit him, he would have to experience the entire process of being burned alive.
That was not something pleasant to endure.
While both executioners were occupied with the Players, intending to turn them into barbecue.
Qin Yun leaned out and fired at one of the executioners.
Bang!
With a gunshot, the executioner's head exploded, and its headless body crashed to the ground.
"Fire in the hole!"
Bald Monk threw a fragmentation grenade at the sole remaining executioner.
Boom!
The explosion blasted the enemy off its feet.
The fuel tank cracked from the impact, spilling Promethium everywhere and setting itself ablaze, releasing a horrifying stench.
With the two executioners dealt with, there were no enemies left.
Qin Yun strode into the grand Chapel of Prayers and lit the brazier before the Emperor's statue.
He could feel holy power instantly filling the Chapel of Prayers.
With that, control of the entire Bridge had been reclaimed.
Qin Yun distributed the Contribution Points for completing the mission, then assigned the Players tasks to gather spoils and clear the various compartments.
Since they could earn Contribution Points, the Players were highly enthusiastic.
However, some Players still had work during the day and chose to log off.
After saluting before the Emperor's statue, the logged-off Players' bodies turned into light and vanished into the Shrine.
After issuing missions to the Players who remained, Qin Yun checked his own gains.
PS: Chaos Four Gods: Damn it, there are robbers.
