Ascension and Family

The Sealed Lord ascended after the sudden death of the previous Zen Lord, when the Eighteen Primordial Noble Families elected him to fill the vacant throne. The succession struggle that followed was marked by widespread bloodshed in Dijing. 1080

Before becoming Sealed Lord, he was married to the Former Lady and had a child with her: the Great Prince, his legitimate eldest daughter. After the Former Lady's death, he ordered the girl to dress as a man and bear the title of Lord. 1043

The turmoil surrounding his ascension left him psychologically scarred. His fixation on restoring the Former Lady became the motive for increasingly extreme actions, including defying Heaven to seek her resurrection. 1080

Resurrection Scheme
