Background / History

Tang San grew up in Holy Soul Village under the care of his father, the blacksmith Tang Hao. He spent his early years training, forging, and practicing the Mysterious Heaven Skill. Having lived two lives, he had little interest in playing with the other village children; Wu Liang and Kanna were his only childhood companions. 1 3

At his martial-soul awakening, Tang San manifested Blue Silver Grass and Innate Full Soul Power. Though Su Yuntao dismissed Blue Silver Grass as useless, Tang San recognized that it was linked to his Mysterious Heaven Skill and became determined to understand the Soul Master path. 4 5

After enrolling at Notting City Junior Spirit Master Academy, Tang San became Yu Xiaogang’s disciple through a formal kneeling ceremony. Master guided him toward the control system and led him to obtain a Mandala Serpent Soul Ring, which altered his Blue Silver Grass into a darker, tougher, venomous form. 7 9 10

Tang Hao later left Tang San a letter and disappeared, entrusting his son to Master. Xiao Wu remained with Tang San at the blacksmith shop, helping him through the loss and declaring that he still had friends and family beside him. 25

Tang San eventually learned that Tang Hao was Clear Sky Douluo and that his mother, Ah Yin, had been a 100,000-year transformed Blue Silver Emperor. Ah Yin sacrificed herself to protect Tang Hao and Tang San from Martial Soul Hall, enabling Tang Hao to become a Titled Douluo. Tang San resolved to revive her. 161
