Ch. 421The Three-Cup Witches Arrived

Concise Chapter Summary

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Isaac and Moens organize a new series of experiments to investigate the essence of Mad Witches and the mysterious unknown concept connected to them.
  • The experiments involve:
    • Legendary Wizards performing trading rituals to locate the unknown concept.
    • Arcane Masters testing rituals involving Outer Gods, True Gods, and Virtual Deities.
    • Isaac personally attempting a more dangerous Cooperative Contract Ritual.
  • The first round produces a major breakthrough: all Legendary Wizards succeed, ten of twelve Arcane Masters succeed, and the unknown conceptual power is captured twice.
  • Isaac confirms that the unknown concept is related to the changes occurring in Mad Witches, though he cannot yet determine whether it causes the Mad Witch Trait or merely contributes to it.
  • True God experiments achieve mixed results, with six of twelve trades succeeding.
  • All Virtual Deity trades fail because Virtual Deities cannot permanently transfer portions of their power through trading rituals. Their power can be bestowed on followers but cannot truly be traded away.
  • Isaac modifies the ritual to observe and locate the unknown concept rather than repeatedly collect it, preserving the captured samples for later research.
  • Anjie arrives unexpectedly with three Three-Cup Witches from Witch Country to inspect Isaac’s newly developed Witch Elixirs.
  • Anjie reveals that the war among the major factions has intensified because Caesar, Isaac’s Third Tier elder brother, killed a Fourth Tier Miracle Knight. Terra wants Caesar eliminated before he grows stronger, while the Orc Empire and Kingdom Alliance protect him.
  • Isaac presents several elixirs:
    • High Witch Elixir, which can raise a Witch by one minor rank.
    • Bloodline Harmonizing Elixir, designed for Witches at the peak of their tier.
    • Inferior Witch Elixir, cheaper and potentially just as powerful, though the Witches dislike its ingredients.
  • The chapter ends as Isaac prepares to reveal or explain the silver elixir, his apparent alternative to the unpopular Inferior Witch Elixir.

Character Developments

  • Isaac makes significant progress in understanding the origins of Mad Witches and demonstrates a methodical, flexible approach to research. He also expands his commercial ambitions through Witch Elixirs and becomes increasingly interested in Caesar’s mysterious power and fate.
  • Moens collaborates closely with Isaac, though her limited familiarity with conceptual research means Isaac must independently anchor and investigate the unknown concept.
  • Anjie acts as the link between Isaac and Witch Country. She provides critical information about the escalating war and Caesar’s astonishing victory.
  • Caesar is revealed to be extraordinarily powerful, having defeated a healthy Fourth Tier opponent while only Third Tier. His achievement makes him a strategic threat and a target for assassination.
  • The Three-Cup Witches arrive as representatives of Witch Country. Their shared disgust toward the gray elixir emphasizes their strict and hypocritical standards regarding ingredients, despite Isaac’s insistence that it is highly effective.
  • Isaac’s family reputation grows more remarkable: three of the four Solomon siblings are described as exceptional, with only Remington comparatively ordinary.

Significant Themes

  • Scientific research and uncertainty: Each discovery creates further questions, showing that progress in unknown fields is gradual and incomplete.
  • Power and limitations: The experiments reveal important distinctions between true divine power and the unstable, “virtual” existence of Virtual Deities.
  • The nature of identity and ownership: Virtual Deities can give power to followers without losing ownership, but they cannot permanently transfer that power through contracts.
  • Family and fate: Caesar’s impossible victory suggests that the Solomon family may be influenced by extraordinary destiny or hidden divine forces.
  • War and political balance: Caesar’s rise threatens the existing power structure, causing the war to intensify and forcing rival factions to protect or eliminate him.
  • Pragmatism versus prejudice: Isaac values effectiveness and mass production, while the Witches reject the Inferior Witch Elixir because of its ingredients, even though it may be stronger and cheaper.

Character Interactions

  • Isaac and Moens cooperate closely in designing and analyzing the rituals, with Isaac taking responsibility for the most dangerous procedure.
  • Isaac communicates with Anjie about bringing Witch Country representatives to inspect the elixirs.
  • Anjie informs Isaac of Caesar’s battlefield achievement and the resulting political crisis, surprising him and prompting him to consider visiting Caesar.
  • The Three-Cup Witches silently evaluate Isaac and react with surprise to his family’s reputation.
  • Isaac attempts to persuade the Witches to accept the Inferior Witch Elixir, but their disgust at its ingredients clashes with his practical sales argument, setting up the next exchange over the silver potion.

Ch. 422Great deeds just became more valuable

Chapter Summary: “The Value of a Great Deed Has Increased”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Isaac presents a third potion, Silver Dawn, to the Witch auditors. Unlike his earlier potion, it uses relatively ordinary ingredients, though its formula incorporates principles from Arcane Master potion-making.
  • The Small Cup Witch questions whether the potion can truly affect Witch Bloodlines. Isaac explains that legendary potions rely not on the physical ingredients themselves, but on the concepts those ingredients contain.
  • Isaac reveals that the potion requires the concept of [Witch Advancement], which can be gathered during a Witch’s advancement ritual. This allows the potion to work specifically on the otherwise difficult-to-develop Witch Bloodlines.
  • He provides the auditors with extensive experimental data and explanations, hoping to establish trust and secure future cooperation with Witch Country.
  • Isaac brews the potion while Anjie and Angel watch. His smooth, culinary-looking brewing process causes Angel and Anjie to internally compare it to cooking.
  • After confirming the potion is successful, the auditors declare the research complete and highly valuable to Witch Country. The Witch Elixir could greatly improve the development of younger Witches and make advancement beyond Third Tier more accessible.
  • Isaac reflects that, despite the invention’s enormous impact, it has not qualified as a Great Deed. It has only produced a faint connection to his self-Legend grimoire.
  • He concludes that Great Deeds likely require changes to the world’s underlying rules, not merely major technological or social progress. His previous Great Deeds—the creation of the Spellbreaker Swordsman and Star Wizard paths—introduced entirely new forms of supernatural power.
  • Isaac worries that other projects, such as Authority Crystals, may also be highly useful but incapable of contributing to a Great Deed. Nevertheless, he continues working on them because of their importance, financial value, and relevance to the escalating war.
  • He considers creating the Endless Star Domain, which would almost certainly become a Great Creation, but feels using it merely to obtain a Great Deed would be wasteful.

Character Developments

  • Isaac demonstrates both confidence and strategic diplomacy. Although he mocks the auditors’ lack of understanding, he deliberately gives them detailed information to avoid suspicion and preserve cooperation with Witch Country.
  • His perfectionist and ambitious nature becomes clearer. He is proud of the Witch Elixir’s significance but frustrated that it does not meet the higher standard required for a Great Deed.
  • Isaac also reveals a practical willingness to continue valuable research even when it offers no direct advancement toward his personal goals.
  • The Three-Cup Witches begin skeptical and irritated by Isaac’s attitude, but their doubts fade as they recognize the potion’s effectiveness and the importance of his research. The Medium Cup Witch proves more restrained and sensible than the Small Cup Witch by preventing a premature confrontation.
  • Anjie remains suspicious of Isaac because of his reputation as a Mad Witch, despite trusting him enough to conduct business. Her concern over inspecting the freshly brewed potion shows her cautious, pragmatic attitude.
  • Angel acts as an observer and companion, silently reacting to the absurdly culinary appearance of Isaac’s brewing process.

Significant Themes

  • Concept over material form: The chapter emphasizes that legendary alchemy depends on the concepts embodied by ingredients rather than their physical properties.
  • Innovation versus fundamental change: A technological breakthrough may transform society without qualifying as a world-changing deed in the metaphysical sense. True Great Deeds apparently require the creation or alteration of fundamental supernatural laws.
  • Recognition and achievement: Isaac’s frustration reflects the difference between objectively benefiting the world and receiving formal recognition or advancement for doing so.
  • Trust and cooperation: Isaac carefully balances arrogance with transparency, understanding that successful collaboration with Witch Country requires him to prove his sincerity.
  • Practical value versus personal ambition: Even when a project cannot help him achieve a Great Deed or advance to Fifth Tier, Isaac continues pursuing it because it remains useful to his allies, his research, and the war effort.

Character Interactions

  • Isaac teases and dismisses the Witches’ assumptions about his relationship with Anjie, while they view his denial of “flirting” as hypocritical given his own dangerous reputation.
  • The Small Cup Witch challenges Isaac’s potion theory, but the Medium Cup Witch restrains her and encourages a more cautious evaluation.
  • Isaac explains the potion’s conceptual basis to the auditors, transforming their initial skepticism into admiration.
  • Anjie watches Isaac brew the potion and becomes concerned when he appears troubled, briefly recognizing that even someone as powerful as him has disappointments.
  • The Three-Cup Witches ultimately praise the completed research, particularly the low-cost Witch Elixir, though they privately acknowledge that they would prefer not to consume its unpleasant-looking version themselves.

Ch. 423Evil God: O Great Isaac, Please Grant Me Power!

Chapter Summary

Key Plot Points and Events

  • The Large-Cup Witch and her companions successfully deliver Isaac’s new research to Witch Country for review. However, they cannot understand it because it concerns the entirely new field of Witch Factors, rather than potionology.
  • The witches decide not to purchase Isaac’s Witch Elixir immediately. They expect the formula to become publicly available and are wary of the risks associated with a potion personally created by a Mad Witch.
  • Isaac reflects on the escalating war involving the Orc Empire, the Kingdom Alliance, and the Terra Royal Family. He had assumed the conflict would remain controlled because the Terra family was protected by a promise from Demigod Wizards, but the combatants are becoming increasingly irrational and bloodthirsty.
  • Isaac checks on his father, Gaia, and uses a Virtual Deity to continue protecting him. He remains especially concerned because Gaia is only a weak Fourth Tier powerhouse and lacks powerful institutional protection.
  • Through Meixiukante, Isaac learns that two Demigod Wizards have intervened and stopped the fighting. They order the factions to settle the conflict in a decisive battle within a specially chosen Small World.
  • Isaac suspects the Demigods’ unusual intervention may be connected to the possible return of Emperor, whose former power was overwhelming enough to dominate multiple Demigods.
  • Isaac considers joining the coming battle either as a member of the Solomon family or as a noble of the Terra Kingdom. He ultimately chooses to fight under his family’s banner, since supporting Terra could force him to oppose his elder brother Caesar.
  • After receiving Caesar’s approval, Isaac returns to the Glacier Research Tribe and resumes his studies. Because of the approaching war, he adds Authority Crystal research to his agenda, hoping to profit from the coming battle and perhaps eventually purchase a Floating City from the Truth Association.
  • Isaac conducts an experiment to create a research-assistance contract with an Outer God. The ritual succeeds instantly because Isaac’s Golden Finger maintains a massive margin of error and the request is easy for the Outer God to accept under equivalent exchange.
  • Isaac recognizes that the true challenge will be binding the Outer God tightly enough to prevent it from sabotaging or manipulating the research.
  • The chapter ends humorously when Isaac summons an Evil God’s divine avatar and instructs it to perform a trade ritual with him and “grant itself power,” leaving the Evil God confused about who is supposed to be empowering whom.

Character Developments

  • Isaac continues to demonstrate extraordinary versatility, moving effortlessly between potionology, Witch Factors, Authority Crystals, ritual contracts, and research involving Outer Gods.
  • He becomes more cautious and responsible regarding his family, especially his father Gaia and his elder brother Caesar.
  • Isaac shows strategic judgment by refusing to join Terra’s side despite his noble status, realizing that doing so could make him fight against Caesar. His loyalty to his family outweighs the potential benefits of supporting Terra.
  • His ambitions also become clearer: he wants to exploit the war’s opportunities to advance his research, develop Authority Crystals, and possibly acquire a Floating City.
  • The Large-Cup Witch is impressed but overwhelmed by Isaac’s genius. Her inability to understand his research emphasizes how far beyond conventional wizarding fields Isaac has progressed.
  • Caesar is portrayed as exceptionally powerful and mysterious, having defeated a Fourth Tier opponent while still only at the Third Tier. His approval reassures Isaac that joining the family side is acceptable.
  • Gaia remains vulnerable despite being a Fourth Tier wizard, prompting Isaac to provide him with covert protection.
  • The Evil God becomes the target of Isaac’s unusual experimental methods, setting up a comedic and potentially dangerous interaction.

Significant Themes

  • Genius beyond convention: Isaac’s research has advanced beyond established disciplines, making even experienced witches unable to evaluate it.
  • The danger and irrationality of war: Political promises and strategic logic become less effective once people are consumed by violence and excitement.
  • Family loyalty versus political advantage: Isaac chooses his family over the Terra Royal Family, even though Terra offers a legitimate alternative and possible benefits.
  • Power and control: The planned Outer God contract reflects Isaac’s attempt to exploit powerful beings while restricting their ability to betray or manipulate him.
  • Equivalent exchange and loopholes: Isaac’s rituals succeed because he combines a fair bargain with an unusually generous margin for error, allowing him to achieve results other researchers could not.
  • Ambition through research: Isaac views the battlefield not merely as a political conflict but as an opportunity to obtain resources, advance his studies, and profit from new discoveries.
  • Comedy through perspective: The final exchange humorously reverses the expected power dynamic, with Isaac treating an Evil God as an experimental assistant.

Character Interactions

  • The Large-Cup Witch examines Isaac’s research but admits, implicitly through her confusion, that it lies outside her expertise. Isaac calmly tells her to submit it for review without urgency.
  • Isaac uses the Virtual Deity to monitor and protect Gaia after confirming his father’s safe return to the Main World.
  • Meixiukante briefs Isaac on the war and the intervention of the Demigod Wizards, helping him decide how to participate.
  • Isaac weighs his relationship with the Terra Royal Family against his bond with Caesar and ultimately informs Caesar of his decision to join the family side. Caesar approves.
  • Isaac forms a research-assistance contract with an Outer God, successfully turning a potentially dangerous entity into a controlled research partner.
  • In the closing scene, Isaac gives an Evil God instructions for a trade ritual, confusing the deity by asking it to grant power to itself.

Ch. 424The Incompetent Evil God Old Ghost and the Mad Witch Brat Who Ate and Took Everything

Chapter Summary

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Isaac forces the Evil God Old Ghost to participate in a reversed Trade Ritual. Instead of sacrificing materials to receive power, the Evil God must sacrifice to Isaac and request an Authority Crystal.
  • The Evil God initially considers exploiting the ritual, but upon entering Isaac’s Mysterious Void, he discovers that many of the abilities and pieces of forbidden knowledge stored there originally belonged to him.
  • When the Evil God removes a “star” containing Star God knowledge, he realizes that the knowledge vanishes from his own memory and is transferred to Isaac. The ritual has effectively made him help Isaac rob him.
  • Isaac successfully condenses his [Flame] Authority into an Authority Crystal. The process also provides valuable data about converting Authorities through rituals.
  • After the ritual, Isaac unknowingly receives additional Star God-related forbidden knowledge from the Evil God’s Mysterious Void. The Evil God becomes furious and ends his divine incarnation, temporarily withdrawing from the experiment.
  • Isaac decides that the Evil God can be replaced if necessary, though he expects improved research results and the completion of the [True God Cipher] may eventually entice Old Ghost to return.
  • Isaac studies the [Flame] Authority Crystal and concludes that elemental Authorities are common, easy to regain, and especially useful as experimental materials despite their limited advancement potential.
  • Over the next three days, Isaac refines the conversion process and determines that only a few more Trade Rituals are needed to master Authority Crystal production.
  • Rather than immediately resuming experiments with the Evil God, Isaac revises his plans for the Star-Creation Experiment. He shifts his focus from star-making itself to the experiment’s byproduct: the galaxy.

Character Developments

  • Isaac demonstrates increasing mastery of ritual theory, experimentation, and Authority manipulation. His [Analysis] Authority allows him to gather data even while the ritual restricts his spellcasting.
  • Isaac also reveals his habitual opportunism: although he did not deliberately plan to steal from the Evil God’s Mysterious Void, he readily accepts the unexpected benefit and treats the incident as useful research data.
  • Evil God Old Ghost is humiliated by being forced to sacrifice to a mortal. His pride and malicious nature initially lead him to consider attacking or exploiting Isaac’s abilities, but he ends up unintentionally assisting Isaac’s theft of his own knowledge.
  • Old Ghost’s anger exposes the limits of Isaac’s contract. Because Isaac deliberately left the Evil God the right to refuse research requests, Old Ghost can withdraw when the experiment becomes too offensive.
  • Despite their hostility, the Evil God develops a grudging appreciation for Isaac’s abilities and taste, particularly when he recognizes his own powers within Isaac’s collection.

Significant Themes

  • Reversal of power and social order: A Sixth Tier True God is forced to beg a comparatively weaker wizard for power, overturning the normal hierarchy of gods and mortals.
  • Contracts versus manipulation: Although contracts are binding, their exact wording matters. Isaac’s careful limitations prevent him from fully compelling the Evil God, while the ritual’s mechanics create consequences neither party completely anticipated.
  • Knowledge as something transferable and consumable: The chapter treats forbidden knowledge and Authority as resources that can be extracted, condensed, stolen, and repurposed.
  • Scientific experimentation and exploitation: Isaac approaches divine powers with the mindset of a researcher, prioritizing data and repeatable processes even when the experiments harm or humiliate his partner.
  • Humor through unequal understanding: The Evil God believes he may outwit Isaac, only to become an unwilling assistant. His indignation contrasts with Isaac’s awkward but practical attitude.
  • The value of analysis: Isaac’s high-level [Analysis] Authority significantly accelerates his research, confirming that information-gathering and comprehension can be as powerful as direct combat abilities.

Character Interactions

  • Isaac treats Old Ghost less like a deity and more like a research assistant, instructing him to perform the reversed Trade Ritual.
  • Old Ghost reacts with disbelief and wounded pride but complies because of their binding contract.
  • Inside the Mysterious Void, Old Ghost shifts from contempt to admiration before realizing Isaac’s collection contains his own stolen abilities.
  • The ritual turns their relationship into a comic inversion: Old Ghost supplies the sacrifice and even helps Isaac extract knowledge, while Isaac benefits from both the Authority Crystal and the stolen Star God information.
  • After the ritual, Isaac awkwardly attempts to claim the theft was accidental, but Old Ghost angrily rejects the explanation and withdraws.
  • Isaac ultimately treats the setback as temporary and turns his attention to the larger Star-Creation Experiment, especially the possibility of gaining a Great Deed through the creation of a galaxy.

Ch. 425Moens scored a comeback and restarted the Star-Creation Experiment!

Chapter Summary: Moens Regains Ground, Restarts the Star-Creation Experiment!

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Isaac reflects on the nature of Great Creations, dividing them into two categories:
    • Rule-based creations, such as extraordinary power systems like knighthood or Arcane Masters.
    • Wonder-type creations, such as the Endless Wilderness, Boundless Tower, and the galaxy Isaac hopes to create.
  • Isaac abandons his previous plan of keeping the Infinite Starfield secret until he was fully prepared. Since the Arcane Masters’ own Star-Creation Experiment is already public, he decides to take advantage of his first-mover position and begin developing it openly.
  • He realizes that Star Creation requires an enormous amount of mana and resources—far beyond what even a Sixth Tier individual could normally provide. However, his Dimensional World may supply nearly unlimited mana.
  • Isaac begins investigating whether the costs of his witchcraft-based Star Creation can be converted primarily into dimensional mana. His research progresses rapidly with the help of his Golden Finger, [Analysis], and Moens’s experimental data.
  • Isaac’s work is interrupted when Moens announces that his team has overcome the final obstacle in the Star-Creation Experiment. A separate group using Isaac’s proposed data-analysis method not only located the problem but discovered how to solve it.
  • After comparing the Arcane and witchcraft versions of Star Creation, Isaac identifies a crucial difference in their spell models. He cannot yet fully understand its principles without seeing the improved spell in action.
  • Isaac returns to the experimental site in the void near Brurell. The team prepares to create four satellites:
    • Two for testing satellite creation.
    • Two for attempting to create low-grade Star Gods.
  • The experiment is important because its success will allow the team to begin planning planetary-scale experiments and make it easier to secure funding from the Truth Association.
  • Isaac gathers [Planet Creation] concept power as a valuable material for future spellcasting and even summons Demonic Claw Hamon to help collect it.
  • The first satellite is successfully created with no complications. Moens is pleased but remains focused as he moves toward the next experimental site.
  • Isaac notices that the concept power produced during this experiment is subtly different from that gathered during the previous round, though he sets the concern aside to prioritize the ongoing experiment.

Character Developments

  • Isaac becomes more proactive and ambitious. He shifts from cautious secrecy to openly pursuing Star Creation, recognizing that hiding the project is no longer practical. His ability to exploit dimensional mana and reduce material costs highlights his ingenuity and resourcefulness.
  • Isaac also demonstrates his characteristic opportunism by treating the concept power generated by the experiment as valuable “free” material.
  • Moens regains confidence after his team’s breakthrough. Having endured the pressure of working alongside Isaac, he takes pride in finally solving the problem and subtly keeps the discovery’s full details as a surprise.
  • Moens remains cautious despite his excitement, especially because the experiment involves potentially dangerous newborn Star Gods.
  • Demonic Claw Hamon assists Isaac in collecting concept power, functioning as part of Isaac’s increasingly elaborate experimental preparations.

Significant Themes

  • The difficulty and cost of Great Creation: Even creations with clear methods require vast quantities of mana, materials, knowledge, and funding.
  • Research and uncertainty: Success depends not only on intelligence and preparation but also on luck. The breakthrough comes unexpectedly from a parallel research group rather than Isaac’s main line of investigation.
  • Competition and first-mover advantage: Isaac realizes that secrecy cannot prevent others from pursuing the same goal, so he chooses to act before rival researchers can overtake him.
  • Resourcefulness and efficiency: Isaac’s advantages do not remove the need for resources; they allow him to use those resources more efficiently and conduct more experiments than ordinary wizards.
  • Scientific risk and failure: The chapter emphasizes that even highly advanced magical research can consume enormous resources without guaranteeing success.
  • Ambition versus caution: The team advances toward planetary-scale Star Creation but deliberately begins with satellites and low-grade Star Gods to limit potential catastrophe.

Character Interactions

  • Isaac and Moens continue their productive but competitive partnership. Isaac provides innovative theories and analytical methods, while Moens’s team turns them into practical experimental breakthroughs.
  • Moens keeps the exact nature of the improved Star-Creation method from Isaac temporarily, apparently enjoying the rare opportunity to surprise or outpace him.
  • Isaac recognizes Moens’s competitive impulse but accepts it as a natural part of ambitious research.
  • Moens observes Isaac’s unusual effort to collect concept power but chooses not to question it, having grown accustomed to Isaac’s eccentric behavior.
  • Their cooperation remains essential: Moens directs the experimental process, while Isaac studies the resulting concepts and prepares for the next stage of development.

Ch. 426The Terror of the Main World and the Might of Demigods!

Chapter Summary

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Moens completes four experiments: two beings become satellites, while two others begin transforming into low-grade Star Gods. He destroys the latter before they are fully born, since creating gods remains a major taboo.
  • Isaac returns from the experiment without further discussion. Moens focuses on publishing his findings and applying for planetary-scale funding through the Truth Association.
  • Isaac continues researching dimensional magic power. Six months later, he completes a ritual capable of creating galaxies with a small amount of Star Creation concepts and dimensional magic power.
  • The research reveals a serious limitation: Isaac’s supposedly infinite dimensional magic power can only create one planet before requiring a ten-year recovery period. Its “infinity” is practical rather than absolute.
  • Isaac’s first-stage Authority Crystal ritual succeeds, producing a Third Tier [Boundless] Authority Crystal. However, the more useful second-stage ritual—capable of extracting Authority Crystals from other beings—remains unfinished.
  • Meanwhile, wars across the Main World escalate into mass slaughter. High-tier knights and other supernaturals begin killing ordinary civilians on a large scale.
  • Hundreds of Demigods suddenly intervene, appearing over the capitals of nations and suppressing the fighting through overwhelming but carefully controlled magical pressure. The war ends almost immediately.
  • The Demigods announce a new, regulated decisive battle involving Terra, the Orc Empire, the Kingdom Alliance, and other nations affected by the war. Each nation must field:
    • Up to 300 “Soldiers” of Third Tier or below
    • Up to 6 Fourth Tier “Generals”
    • One Fifth Tier “King,” whose defeat eliminates the faction
  • Small nations without a suitable King must either surrender or gamble on an all-out attack.
  • Solomon Kingdom is forced to participate despite its weakness. It lacks a Fifth Tier powerhouse, has only Isaac and his father as possible Fourth Tier participants, and cannot field enough qualified soldiers.
  • Isaac agrees to return to the Main World and help prepare Solomon for the battle. He plans to strengthen his father, recruit more Third Tier fighters, and use familiars to fill the required quota.
  • The chapter ends with Isaac noticing that the rules specifically emphasize that True Gods cannot enter the battlefield, suggesting a deliberate and ominous hidden threat.

Character Developments

  • Isaac becomes increasingly aware of the limitations of his powers and resources. His research advances dramatically, but he learns that even his Dimensional World’s “infinite” magic power has practical boundaries.
  • He also demonstrates loyalty and political responsibility by choosing to support Solomon, despite being able to remain uninvolved as a member of the Flesh Cult.
  • Moens is portrayed as an ambitious researcher who remains constrained by the taboo against creating gods. He is eager to remove his status as a Sixth Tier candidate and gain greater freedom.
  • Isaac’s father, Gaia, is revealed to be a weak Fourth Tier knight, making him a liability in the upcoming battle. Isaac intends to improve his strength.
  • Solomon is shown to be politically fragile and militarily underdeveloped. Its survival depends heavily on Isaac’s participation.

Significant Themes

  • The limits of power and “infinity”: Isaac discovers that dimensional magic power is only effectively infinite under normal conditions; world-scale creation exposes its real limitations.
  • The dangers and taboos of creation: Moens destroys potential Star Gods because creating gods remains forbidden, emphasizing the boundaries even powerful researchers must respect.
  • Research and institutional support: High-level magical research increasingly depends on large organizations and funding, while individual researchers struggle to validate or finance advanced work.
  • The overwhelming power of high-tier beings: Demigods can end wars instantly and suppress entire nations without harming civilians, demonstrating the enormous gulf between ordinary people and top-level supernaturals.
  • Political power versus military power: The battlefield rules turn national survival into a contest of elite champions, with the defeat of a single King deciding an entire faction’s fate.
  • Loyalty and responsibility: Isaac’s decision to defend Solomon shows that his relationships and political commitments increasingly influence his actions.
  • Hidden manipulation and foreboding: The conspicuous mention of True Gods in the battlefield rules hints that the coming conflict may involve forces beyond the stated restrictions.

Character Interactions

  • Isaac and Moens: Their experimental partnership proceeds smoothly, with Isaac acting as an observer and collaborator while Moens handles the Star Creation research. Afterward, they separate without needing discussion because the results match Moens’s calculations.
  • Isaac and the Truth Association: The Association provides crucial funding for large-scale research, allowing Isaac to pursue projects that would otherwise be impossible.
  • Isaac and Solomon: Although Isaac could avoid the conflict, he chooses to support Solomon because of his connection to the kingdom and its rulers. His involvement becomes essential to the kingdom’s survival.
  • Isaac and his family: Isaac prepares to work with his elder brother and others, while also planning to strengthen his father, Gaia, before the decisive battle.
  • The Demigods and the nations: The Demigods end the uncontrolled wars, then impose a structured battlefield designed to settle national conflicts while limiting the scale of destruction.

Ch. 427The Supreme Bone was reborn!

Chapter Summary

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Isaac volunteers to become the “King” in Solomon’s upcoming battle against a Fifth Tier opponent. Although the role is extremely dangerous and both the Virtual Deity and divine summoning methods are restricted, Isaac insists that he is the only member capable of surviving the confrontation.
  • Caesar initially refuses, concerned for Isaac’s safety, but eventually agrees after recognizing that Solomon has no better option.
  • Isaac takes control of the battle preparations and announces that most members will not participate. Only Caesar, Cheryl, and Snake Princess Barbara are selected for the initial force, while stronger familiars and chosen allies occupy the remaining slots.
  • Isaac provides Witch Elixirs, potions he developed with Witch Country that can greatly enhance a Witch’s Bloodline Power. He gives Caesar supplies for Barbara and for recruiting Witches from Witch Country.
  • Barbara is expected to advance from the Upper Second Tier to approximately the Mid Third Tier after using the elixirs. Isaac also offers her a special training spell to improve her control over her newly increased Magic Power.
  • Isaac introduces a Virtual Divine Spark, which grants fixed Third Tier power comparable to that of a god. Caesar is instructed to recruit roughly twenty reliable people to fuse with the Sparks.
  • Gaia is removed from the combat plan because he is not strong enough for the Fourth Tier position. Isaac instead reserves that position as a summoning slot for different Outer Gods, allowing Solomon greater tactical flexibility.
  • The remaining Third Tier positions are reserved for Smith and other powerful allies.
  • After the public meeting ends, Isaac privately gives Caesar an Artificial Authority Crystal containing the Authority of [Boundless].
  • Caesar’s hidden god reveals that Isaac has somehow recreated the Authority, something the god itself had only recently begun preparing to restore. Isaac notices that something unusual is happening within Caesar.

Character Developments

  • Isaac demonstrates increased authority, confidence, and strategic leadership. He insists that his strength does not depend solely on gods or divine artifacts, emphasizing his mastery of Authority spells, research, and artificial creations.
  • He also reveals himself as a highly capable researcher, inventor, potion-maker, and tactician. His creation of the Witch Elixirs, Virtual Divine Sparks, training magic, and Artificial Authority Crystal establishes him as a major power independent of conventional divine support.
  • Caesar reluctantly accepts Isaac’s decision to act as King and follows his battle strategy. He remains protective of Isaac but recognizes that Isaac’s abilities make him the most suitable candidate. Caesar also becomes responsible for recruiting Witches and users of the Virtual Divine Sparks.
  • Cheryl confirms the nature of the Authority Crystal and shows that she has researched forbidden Mad Witch powers in hopes of protecting Isaac if he loses control.
  • Gaia accepts being excluded from the battle because his strength is insufficient, illustrating the harsh importance of power in the supernatural world.
  • Snake Princess Barbara moves from fear and confusion to excitement and admiration as she learns that Isaac can rapidly elevate her strength. Her dependence on him increases, and she becomes a potentially valuable Third Tier combatant.
  • The other members initially feel insulted when Isaac excludes them, but their resentment disappears after seeing the power of his elixirs and divine artifacts. Their awe shifts into caution when Isaac reveals that the Virtual Divine Sparks may have dangerous hidden effects.

Significant Themes

  • Power determines authority: Even respected Third Tier figures must obey Isaac’s plans because strength is the decisive factor in the supernatural world.
  • Knowledge as power: Isaac’s research abilities allow him to rival or surpass divine beings without depending entirely on gods. His inventions show that scientific and magical innovation can recreate seemingly unique divine powers.
  • Risk versus necessity: Solomon must accept dangerous arrangements because refusing to gamble may lead to an even worse outcome.
  • Trust and loyalty: Isaac is willing to use people whose loyalty is imperfect, provided they do not betray Solomon immediately. This reveals a pragmatic, morally flexible approach to warfare.
  • The dangers of artificial power: The Virtual Divine Sparks and Authority Crystal offer immense benefits, but their unknown side effects create unease and suspicion.
  • Transformation and advancement: Barbara’s rapid growth represents how Isaac’s inventions can reshape the balance of power and elevate previously weaker allies.

Character Interactions

  • Caesar and Isaac clash over Isaac’s decision to become King, with Caesar acting protectively and Isaac responding confidently and provocatively.
  • Isaac’s calm authority suppresses the anger of the excluded members, who ultimately accept his decisions after witnessing his capabilities.
  • Caesar and Cheryl react with shock to the Witch Elixirs, recognizing their immense potential for strengthening Witches and recruiting allies.
  • Isaac treats Barbara as a valuable strategic asset, promising both immediate advancement and specialized training.
  • Caesar shows caution toward the Virtual Divine Sparks, while Isaac accepts the possibility that some users may be spies or only partly loyal.
  • In the private discussion, Cheryl identifies the Authority Crystal, and Caesar’s hidden god praises Isaac’s achievement, revealing that Isaac may have sensed the god’s presence or reaction.

Ch. 428On the eve of war!

Chapter Summary: “Eve of War!”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Caesar questions Isaac about his search for Morgan. Isaac explains that he originally wanted to investigate the legendary Boundless, though he found it unimpressive.
  • Isaac reveals how he created Authority Crystals: he adapted the transaction rituals used between Mad Witches and Outer Gods, using ritual techniques to strip Authority from himself and condense it into crystals.
  • His explanation shocks everyone, especially because it implies that an Outer God effectively prayed to Isaac for power during the process.
  • Isaac distributes several experimental Authority Crystals, potions, and magical items to his family. The elemental crystals are considered less valuable, but the gifts help him clear out the large stockpile of items accumulated through his research.
  • He recalls his subordinates from Brurell, leaving the Silver Knight behind to continue mercenary work and resource gathering.
  • Isaac enters seclusion for two months to prepare for the coming special war. Reaching the Fifth Tier is impossible in that time because advancement requires a secret Legendary Ascension Ritual, but Isaac plans to obtain Fifth-Tier combat power through transformation magic.
  • Drawing on his previous research into Myriad Spirits Transformation, Isaac prepares to learn a Fifth-Tier transformation spell, hoping to confront or escape from Fifth-Tier enemies.
  • After two months, Isaac assembles his battle force: Little Mouse, Lapis Lazuli, Holy Master, the Magic Eye Soren, Agares, twenty witches, and twenty Virtual Deities.
  • Smith, Rona, Isaac’s father, and Gaia remain in the Solomon Kingdom to guard it. Isaac reserves the kingdom’s single Fourth-Tier slot for deity incarnations, which can provide flexible power or be sacrificed in emergencies.
  • The group travels through a mysterious seven-colored radiance known as the Rainbow Bridge and arrives at a Floating City near the battlefield rather than entering the Small World directly.

Character Development

  • Isaac demonstrates increasing arrogance and confidence, but his abilities justify much of it. He treats his Authority Crystal creation as routine and is already thinking beyond ordinary tier-based limitations.
  • His experiments show that he is becoming deeply aligned with the Mad Witch path. Caesar worries that Isaac’s research has reached a level involving deities and Outer Gods that he can no longer safely protect him from.
  • Isaac remains pragmatic and efficient, using the prewar period to distribute surplus magical items, organize his forces, and seek unconventional ways to overcome the Fifth-Tier power gap.
  • Caesar becomes increasingly concerned about Isaac’s safety and recognizes that Isaac’s actual strength far exceeds what his formal tier suggests.
  • Cheryl is curious about Isaac’s technique but dismissive of elemental Authority Crystals because she has already surpassed the stage where they would meaningfully improve her abilities.
  • Agares is recruited for his exceptional Third-Tier combat strength and swarm-based tactics.
  • The deity connected to Caesar reveals more of its history, including its former pride in the Rainbow Bridge and its defeat by a Demigod witch.

Significant Themes

  • Innovation beyond established systems: Isaac recreates a technique thought to depend on Outer God transactions, showing that conventional magical limitations can be bypassed through research.
  • The danger of power and ambition: Isaac’s growing connection to Mad Witch methods concerns Caesar, who fears the consequences of Isaac becoming involved with deities and cosmic forces.
  • Strength versus formal rank: The chapter emphasizes that tier classifications do not fully represent Isaac’s true combat ability.
  • Preparation and strategy: Since Isaac cannot advance normally before the war, he relies on transformation magic, force composition, deity incarnations, and defensive planning.
  • Secrecy and forbidden knowledge: Caesar is warned that certain truths cannot be spoken directly. Isaac’s ability to sense hidden powers suggests that he is approaching secrets normally concealed from him.
  • The changing value of magical creations: Authority Crystals and other rare items may be revolutionary, but their practical value depends on who can use them and whether they qualify as recognized Great Deeds.

Important Character Interactions

  • Caesar tries to reprimand Isaac for his recklessness, but Cheryl interrupts to question Isaac about the Authority Crystal’s creation.
  • Isaac’s explanation leaves Caesar, Gaia, and the others stunned, particularly at the idea of an Outer God praying to Isaac.
  • Caesar and his father silently share concern over Isaac’s dangerous path, while the deity praises Isaac as a true Mad Witch.
  • Isaac offers his family experimental crystals, potions, and equipment, though Cheryl shows little interest in the elemental Authorities.
  • Before the war, Isaac coordinates with his allies and assigns defensive responsibilities, keeping Smith, Rona, his father, and Gaia in the Solomon Kingdom.
  • During the journey, Isaac senses the hidden power behind the Rainbow Bridge and suspects a connection to Caesar’s mysterious deity. The deity confirms that Isaac can perceive its presence, but advises Caesar not to explain the truth directly.
  • Caesar and the deity exchange a humorous but tense discussion about the Rainbow Bridge and the deity’s past defeat, ending with Caesar’s silent skepticism.

Ch. 429Combat Power Explosion? Third Tiers Here Were as Common as Stray Dogs

Chapter Summary

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Isaac and his companions arrive in a massive battlefield plaza filled almost entirely with Third Tier transcendents. He casually compares them to “stray dogs,” provoking widespread resentment, though no one dares confront him because he is a Fourth Tier powerhouse.
  • Isaac observes that the gathering includes many unusual transcendent paths beyond the publicly dominant knights, wizards, and Arcane Masters. He realizes that numerous partially developed or deliberately hidden power systems exist throughout the Boundless Void.
  • He becomes interested in a Third Tier transcendent known as a Legendary Mage, an advanced form of Magical Web Mage who uses a personal “Sub-Web” cut from the original Magical Web with its owner’s consent.
  • Isaac reflects on the mysterious limitations of the Magical Web and wonders whether it could be treated like a Great Creation or potentially “poached,” as happened with the Star Wizard path.
  • A black-robed Sixth Tier Legendary Wizard appears to oversee the battlefield game. The plaza falls silent, and he offers to answer questions before the contest begins.
  • Isaac asks whether he may leave Solomon’s Fourth Tier slot vacant and instead summon different Fourth Tier divine incarnations as temporary familiars. The Demigod allows it but warns that Fifth Tier incarnations are dangerous because they could serve as anchors for a god’s complete descent.
  • Isaac then asks whether he may use materials found within the battlefield to create entirely new familiars. His wording strongly implies that living participants could potentially be used as raw materials, horrifying everyone and raising the possibility of a dangerous loophole in the rules.

Character Developments

  • Isaac continues to display overwhelming confidence, irreverence, and intellectual curiosity. He treats powerful figures and restrictive rules as objects for experimentation, while also remaining cautious when genuine risks—such as divine descent—are identified.
  • Isaac’s recent advancement in Ritual Studies has made him capable of understanding how Fifth Tier divine incarnations might enable gods to descend fully. This places him closer to Demigod-level insight, even though he has not yet reached that rank.
  • Caesar remains at Third Tier because Isaac deliberately preserved the available Fourth Tier slot. He is unable to advance as he had during the Black Orc war, though he continues accumulating strength.
  • Cheryl demonstrates her expertise by explaining the Legendary Mage path and the structure of the Magical Web. She also maintains confidence in her status as a Grand Arcane Master, distinguishing herself from the ordinary Third Tiers Isaac mocks.
  • The Legendary Mage becomes visibly uncomfortable under Isaac’s scrutinizing, experimental gaze, sensing that Isaac is considering him and the Magical Web as research subjects.
  • The black-robed Demigod wizard reveals that the battlefield’s rules were partly designed to restrain Isaac. He is relieved when Isaac asks questions, since Isaac’s Divine Tome, ritual expertise, and powerful summons could otherwise overwhelm the game.

Significant Themes

  • Power and hierarchy: Third Tier beings are common in this battlefield, but Isaac’s Fourth Tier status places him far above most participants. The arrival of a Sixth Tier Demigod further emphasizes the enormous scale of power.
  • Hidden forms of advancement: The chapter highlights how many transcendent paths remain concealed or underdeveloped, suggesting that the known systems are only a small portion of the possibilities in the Boundless Void.
  • Knowledge as danger: Isaac’s curiosity is portrayed as threatening. He does not merely seek power; he wants to dissect systems such as the Magical Web, divine incarnations, and transcendent paths, potentially exposing dangerous secrets.
  • Rules and loopholes: The battlefield’s regulations are shown to be imperfect. Isaac immediately searches for technical openings, while the organizers rely on his willingness to ask questions before the game begins.
  • Creation and ethics: Isaac’s proposal to create familiars from local materials introduces the possibility of treating living beings as components, turning the battlefield’s participants into potential resources and opening a metaphorical “Pandora’s box.”
  • Divine descent and risk: Fifth Tier incarnations are fundamentally more dangerous than Fourth Tier ones because they can act as anchors for gods to enter the world completely.

Character Interactions

  • Isaac insults the gathered Third Tiers, while Caesar reacts helplessly because he technically belongs to the group being mocked. Cheryl remains unbothered due to her elite Arcane Master identity.
  • Cheryl explains the Legendary Mage’s relationship to Magical Web Mages, helping Isaac understand why the path exists and why the Magical Web may be flawed.
  • Isaac’s intense interest in the Legendary Mage makes the man uneasy, as he recognizes the look of someone being considered for experimentation.
  • The Demigod wizard and Isaac engage in a cautious exchange: the Demigod formally answers Isaac’s questions while privately acknowledging that the rules were designed around containing him.
  • Isaac’s proposed use of divine incarnations shocks the entire plaza, and his second question alarms everyone even more because it appears to suggest manufacturing familiars from other participants.

Ch. 430Taking the Day Off, I'm So Sleepy Today

Chapter Summary: “Taking the Day Off, I’m So Sleepy Today”

  • Plot and events: The narrator takes the day off and does not write because they are extremely sleepy.
  • Character development: The narrator prioritizes rest over productivity, revealing their tiredness and willingness to pause.
  • Themes: Rest, self-care, and the limits of productivity.
  • Character interactions: No interactions with other characters occur; the focus remains entirely on the narrator’s condition and decision to rest.

Ch. 431Desperate 0.1 Centimeters!

Chapter Summary: “Desperate 0.1 Centimeters!”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Isaac’s questions expose potential loopholes in the War Game rules, alarming the black-robed wizard overseeing the event. The organizers fear that unrestricted use of familiars, golems, or external control could transform the War Game into a genuine massacre.
  • The organizers clarify that contestants may only use materials from the Small World to create familiars and golems, and may exercise only temporary control over them. Permanent control through contracts or magic is forbidden.
  • To prevent accidental deaths from escalating tensions, the black-robed wizard announces that contestants who “die” will be teleported out and restored to perfect condition. This resurrection rule is actually improvised by the Demigods, who alter the Small World’s laws after the fact.
  • Isaac becomes intensely interested in this rule change, realizing that modifying the laws of an entire world may offer clues about the creation of Rule-Type Great Creations.
  • The contestants are transported into the Small World, while several wizards remain behind to weave and stabilize the new rules.
  • The War Game’s scoring system is explained:
    • Third Tier opponents are worth 1 point.
    • Fourth Tier opponents are worth 2 points.
    • Fifth Tier opponents are worth 3 points, plus 7 additional points because they are “Kings,” for a total of 10.
    • Eliminating a King eliminates the rest of that King’s team.
    • Kings’ locations are periodically revealed, making them high-value targets.
    • Teams also possess fixed-point teleportation items designed to facilitate attacks on Kings.
  • Teams can gain points by controlling three permanent Grand Altars or destroying randomly appearing Lesser Altars. The contest lasts one year, after which the team with the most points wins the greatest rewards, though all teams receive benefits based on their scores.
  • Isaac plans to divide his forces: Caesar will lead the main group to gather points, while Isaac travels separately to draw enemy attention and prevent the entire team from being wiped out at once.
  • Immediately after landing, Isaac receives the locations of all Kings and discovers that he himself has already been selected as a target because he appears to be the weakest King.
  • A Fourth Tier assassin launches a surprise attack with anti-magic, spatial-locking shadow abilities. However, Isaac’s defenses stop the dagger exactly 0.1 centimeters from his temple.
  • The assassin repeatedly attacks, but every strike fails to cross the same tiny distance, creating the chapter’s central image of an apparently insignificant yet completely impassable defensive gap.

Character Development

  • Isaac demonstrates both strategic caution and intellectual curiosity. His questions reveal his tendency to probe rules for weaknesses, while his interest in the altered resurrection rule shows that he views the War Game as an opportunity for magical research, not merely combat.
  • He also displays strong battlefield awareness by deliberately separating himself from Caesar’s main force and using himself as bait to redirect enemy attacks.
  • Isaac’s overwhelming defensive power is emphasized. Even a highly specialized Fourth Tier assassin using anti-magic and spatial-locking techniques cannot reach him.
  • The black-robed wizard is shown as cautious and politically aware. He understands that careless rules could trigger uncontrollable bloodshed, and he quickly closes loopholes while presenting the resurrection rule as though it had always been part of the design.
  • The Demigod wizards are revealed to be deeply frustrated with the lower-tier nobles and some even considered eliminating them outright. Nevertheless, they cooperate to preserve the War Game and prevent broader instability.
  • The assassin is characterized as disciplined, silent, and exceptionally skilled. Though surprised by Isaac’s defense, he continues attacking without hesitation.

Significant Themes

  • Rules versus loopholes: The chapter explores how formal rules can be exploited and how organizers must constantly adapt to prevent competition from becoming slaughter.
  • Conflict disguised as reconciliation: The War Game is intended to reduce internal warfare, yet its scoring system, assassination mechanics, and territorial objectives still encourage combat.
  • Power and political control: The Demigods manipulate the rules to manage the lower tiers, revealing both their authority and their contempt for the participants.
  • Scientific curiosity amid danger: Isaac treats the War Game as a laboratory. Even the altered laws of resurrection interest him more as evidence about world-rules and magical creation than as a safety measure.
  • The gap between appearance and reality: Isaac is labeled the weakest King and targeted first, but his defensive ability makes him far more dangerous than opponents expect.
  • A tiny margin of absolute superiority: The repeated 0.1-centimeter distance symbolizes the enormous difference between the assassin’s formidable attack and Isaac’s seemingly unreachable defense.

Character Interactions

  • Isaac repeatedly questions the black-robed wizard, forcing him to clarify restrictions on familiars, golems, control magic, and death.
  • The black-robed wizard attempts to shut down further loophole-seeking by invoking the principle that “friendliness comes first.”
  • The black-robed and white-robed wizards cooperate to rewrite the Small World’s rules, despite disagreement over the burden and necessity of adding resurrection.
  • Isaac’s planned separation from Caesar reflects their strategic cooperation: Caesar protects and leads the main force, while Isaac deliberately attracts danger elsewhere.
  • The assassin engages Isaac in a one-sided opening confrontation, demonstrating lethal skill but failing to penetrate Isaac’s defense. Isaac, meanwhile, calmly analyzes the assassin’s shadow power during the attack, treating the encounter almost as an experiment.

Ch. 432I Finally Finished Writing—Let Me Tell You Something Absolutely Insane

Chapter Summary

Plot Points and Events

  • The narrator explains that their parents are divorced. Their mother has peacefully formed a new family, while their father is in a strained relationship with his current partner, whom the narrator calls their stepmother or “Auntie.”
  • The narrator has often acted as the mediator between their father and stepmother, usually taking the stepmother’s side because of the father’s domineering personality and habit of giving people the cold shoulder.
  • While the narrator is at work, their father calls them home to register their fingerprint for the house’s keypad lock. He explains that the stepmother has moved her belongings out, so the lock needs to be changed.
  • The father reveals that he had asked the stepmother to register their marriage that day. She agreed only if her name was added to the narrator’s property deed.
  • The narrator is outraged because they paid the down payment and continue to pay the mortgage. Their father contributed financially for only two months during a difficult period, and the stepmother had no financial involvement.
  • The narrator had previously planned to buy a separate, inexpensive retirement home for their father and stepmother once their own financial burden decreased. However, the stepmother’s demand causes the narrator to abandon that plan and stop caring whether the couple stays together.

Character Developments

  • The narrator shifts from being a loyal mediator and supporter of the stepmother to feeling betrayed and emotionally detached from both adults’ relationship.
  • The father is portrayed as controlling, difficult, and prone to emotional punishment, though he appears to rely on the narrator’s support.
  • The stepmother changes in the narrator’s eyes from a decent, practical person into someone willing to demand ownership of property she did not help purchase.
  • The narrator’s previously generous plans reveal a strong sense of responsibility toward their parents, but the deed dispute makes them reconsider those obligations.

Significant Themes

  • Family responsibility and boundaries: The narrator has invested heavily in keeping the family stable but realizes that helping relatives does not require surrendering personal property.
  • Trust and betrayal: The stepmother’s demand undermines the narrator’s positive view of her and makes past support feel unappreciated.
  • Financial independence and ownership: The house represents the narrator’s hard work and autonomy, making the request for shared ownership especially offensive.
  • Emotional exhaustion: Years of mediating between the father and stepmother have left the narrator frustrated and unwilling to continue managing their relationship.
  • Conditional relationships: The proposed marriage becomes transactional, dependent on access to property rather than mutual commitment.

Character Interactions

  • The father calls the narrator to explain the lock change and the separation from the stepmother.
  • He tells the narrator about the stepmother’s condition for marriage, placing the narrator’s property at the center of their conflict.
  • The narrator’s relationship with the father is marked by frequent arguments, while their relationship with the stepmother had previously been supportive and close.
  • The narrator now rejects the role of peacemaker and decides that the couple’s future is no longer their responsibility.

Ch. 433Success Need Not Be Mine, but I Will Have a Hand in It!

Chapter Summary

Key Plot Points and Events

  • An assassin attacks Isaac during the teleportation period, hoping to eliminate him while he is a vulnerable Fourth Tier among powerful Fifth Tier opponents.
  • Isaac uses his Authority spell, Arrogant Turtle, to immobilize the assassin. He identifies the assassin as a Shadow Assassin whose standardized dagger grants the ability to counter Authority spells.
  • Isaac takes the dagger and studies the assassin, realizing that the Shadow Assassin path sacrifices long-term potential for powerful specialization and easier development.
  • Isaac deliberately loosens his restraint, allowing the assassin to escape with a Miniature Eye of Omniscience. Isaac intends to use the assassin and his companions as research samples for studying their transcendent path.
  • Isaac reflects on his own research into transcendent paths. He considers preserving the Bloodline Wizard path, while potentially sacrificing the Faith Wizard and Temple Knight paths in exchange for completing Great Deeds and possibly improving relations with the gods.
  • Isaac travels to a valley and destroys a Lesser Altar with a powerful Magic Cannon. The altar’s barrier is difficult to break for most participants, but Isaac can attack freely because the Dimensional World provides him with effectively unlimited Magic Power.
  • The destruction attracts the Auks Kingdom, a powerful faction with one Fourth Tier and fifty Third Tier combatants. Rather than retreat, Isaac confronts them.
  • The Auks Fourth Tier leader merges with the fifty Magic Array Guards, dramatically increasing his strength from Lower Fourth Tier to Upper Fifth Tier, shocking Isaac and ending the chapter on a cliffhanger.

Character Developments

  • Isaac demonstrates his superiority in combat, restraint, and strategic manipulation. He is not merely defeating enemies; he is gathering information to advance his research and Great Deeds.
  • He shows increasing sophistication as a researcher of transcendent paths, valuing practical development and contribution over personally controlling or perfecting an entire system.
  • Isaac’s attitude toward danger remains confident, but he recognizes the serious threat posed by Demigods and genuine Fifth Tier powerhouses.
  • The Shadow Assassin is revealed to be a former experimental subject or survivor of a disturbing past, making Isaac’s analytical gaze deeply frightening to him. He escapes only because Isaac intentionally permits it.
  • The Auks Fourth Tier leader is portrayed as pragmatic rather than foolish. Though aware of Isaac’s reputation and the poor odds of victory, he accepts the confrontation and uses the Magic Array Guards’ fusion technique to reach Upper Fifth Tier.

Significant Themes

  • Success as collective achievement: Isaac believes that his success need not belong entirely to him, as long as he contributes to the eventual completion of a valuable transcendent path.
  • Pragmatism versus idealism: Isaac is willing to sacrifice the upper limits of certain paths if doing so produces immediate Great Deeds, while preserving the Bloodline Wizard path because he believes it has greater long-term potential.
  • Research through observation: Since direct experimentation is restricted by the war-game rules, Isaac develops an indirect method—collecting data from many participants, analyzing it computationally, and conducting controlled experiments in the Dimensional World.
  • Power and specialization: The Shadow Assassin path demonstrates the trade-off between immediate specialized strength and future potential.
  • The limitations of apparent power: The Auks Kingdom possesses enormous numbers of high-level combatants but lacks Demigods and strong future prospects, illustrating that raw military strength does not guarantee lasting advancement.
  • Authority and transcendence: The chapter emphasizes that Authority can generally only be countered by Authority or overwhelming power, while different paths and abilities can gain strength through sacrifice, specialization, or integration.

Character Interactions

  • Isaac dominates the Shadow Assassin, immobilizing him, examining his weapon and path, and psychologically frightening him with his researcher-like gaze.
  • The assassin expects Isaac to violate the war-game rules but is ultimately spared because Isaac fears the consequences of provoking Demigods and Fifth Tier powers.
  • Isaac manipulates the assassin into escaping so that he will carry information—and the Miniature Eye of Omniscience—back to other Shadow Assassins.
  • Isaac confronts the Auks Kingdom’s forces after destroying their altar. The Auks leader recognizes Isaac’s reputation and understands the danger of fighting him.
  • The Auks leader ultimately fuses with his fifty subordinates, transforming the encounter from a straightforward battle into a serious challenge for Isaac.

Ch. 434How wizards fought

Chapter Summary: “A Wizard’s Way of Fighting”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Isaac, a Fourth Tier Miracle Wizard, faces Rex, a powerful knight capable of temporarily reaching the Fifth Tier by fusing with his subordinates.
  • Although Isaac traditionally would have fled from such an opponent, he decides to test whether a Fourth Tier wizard can truly fight a Fifth Tier combatant.
  • Rex launches an immediate, flame-covered sword attack after ascending to the Fifth Tier.
  • Isaac uses Time Stagnation to halt the battle temporarily. During that interval, he:
    • Casts Arrogant Turtle, layering a thousand defensive Authority spells around himself.
    • Constructs Star Creation: Black Hole, despite the interference caused by Rex’s Fifth Tier power.
    • Uses Mind Acceleration to examine the battlefield and search for hidden enemies or traps.
  • When time resumes, Rex’s sword has broken through eight layers of Isaac’s defense and nearly penetrated the ninth, demonstrating the overwhelming strength of a basic Fifth Tier attack.
  • However, Isaac’s Black Hole spell activates, distorting Rex’s body and swallowing half of it, catching the temporarily empowered knight off guard.

Character Developments

  • Isaac shows a major shift in confidence and combat philosophy. Instead of automatically retreating from a Fifth Tier opponent, he chooses to confront Rex directly.
  • His extensive defensive preparation and rapid spellcasting reveal his exceptional magical talent, even though he lacks the centuries of accumulated knowledge common among older wizards.
  • Isaac demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of combat magic. He uses time-related spells not only for attack but also to create opportunities for planning and observation.
  • Rex is portrayed as an exceptionally strong but relatively straightforward fighter. His temporary Fifth Tier transformation grants him tremendous physical power, yet he lacks advanced Fifth Tier combat techniques and has limited resistance to complex spells.
  • Rex is also shocked by Isaac’s ability to endure his sword strike, since most Fourth Tier wizards either flee or cannot survive such an attack.

Significant Themes

  • Cleverness versus brute force: Rex relies on overwhelming physical strength, while Isaac combines layered defense, time manipulation, preparation, and spatial magic.
  • The nature of wizard combat: The chapter challenges the belief that wizards are slow or helpless in close combat. Their true advantage lies in mental speed, broad awareness, and the ability to prepare multiple responses.
  • Combat awareness and decision-making: Isaac explains that wizards often struggle not because they react slowly, but because they perceive too many possible actions and must choose among them instantly. Mind Acceleration allows him to extend that decision-making window.
  • Defense as a form of power: Isaac considers defensive magic even more important than offensive firepower. His Arrogant Turtle spell is strengthened far beyond normal Fourth Tier limits, though Rex’s attack reveals the gap between Fourth and Fifth Tier strength.
  • Knowledge and experience: Isaac’s rapid rise has given him extraordinary power but comparatively limited theoretical knowledge. His lack of mastery creates risks, particularly when using a newly learned transformation spell or fighting an opponent above his level.

Character Interactions

  • Rex attacks immediately after merging with his subordinates, attempting to overwhelm Isaac before he can respond.
  • Isaac refuses to retreat and counters Rex’s direct assault with carefully timed spells.
  • Their exchange becomes a contest between Rex’s Fifth Tier sword power and Isaac’s defensive and spatial magic.
  • Rex’s confidence is shaken when Isaac survives his strike, while Isaac gains valuable evidence about the limits of his defenses.
  • The confrontation ends with Isaac’s miniature black hole catching Rex and beginning to consume half his body, reversing the momentum of the battle.

Ch. 435Star-Creation Power: Black Hole!

Chapter Summary: “Star-Creation Power: Black Hole!”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Rex attacks Isaac, but Isaac creates and unleashes a Miniature Black Hole, one of the earliest applications of his Star-Creation Power.
  • Rex manages to instinctively retreat, but the black hole devours his lower body. Although his powerful vitality allows him to regenerate, he loses roughly seventy percent of his vitality and magical power.
  • Rex’s temporary Fifth Tier strength depends on fifty fused Magic Array Guards. Many of the guards attached to his lower body are destroyed, reducing the total to twenty-eight and causing his strength to fall from Fifth Tier to around Mid Fourth Tier.
  • Isaac recognizes that Rex is no longer a serious threat and dispels the unstable black hole. He reflects on its immense destructive power and its current limitations, particularly its slow casting speed and difficult control.
  • Isaac waits for Rex to recover because he wants to observe more of the Magic Array Guards’ abilities and learn from the ongoing conflict reshaping the Main World.
  • Rex chooses to fight rather than flee, launching the battle skill Crimson Flame Streak.
  • Despite the attack’s power, Rex cannot penetrate Isaac’s Authority defenses, stopping 0.1 centimeters from Isaac.
  • Isaac restrains Rex with Authority, petrifies him and the remaining Magic Array Guards using the Petrification Magic Eye, and stores their stone forms for later study.
  • Upon sensing other powerful beings approaching, Isaac escapes into the void to find a secure location where he can investigate his captives.

Character Developments

  • Isaac demonstrates major progress in Star-Creation Power by successfully creating and controlling a miniature black hole without being harmed by it. However, the technique remains immature and difficult to cast.
  • Isaac’s confidence grows as he realizes that, with further improvements, the black hole could allow him to challenge Fifth Tier experts. He also remains aware that his defenses and overall tier are still insufficient for reliably fighting much stronger opponents.
  • Isaac becomes increasingly analytical and opportunistic, treating the battle as a chance to study unfamiliar powers, particularly the Magic Array Guards and their fusion mechanism.
  • Rex suffers a devastating injury and loses most of his enhanced strength. His dependence on the fused Magic Array Guards is exposed, as their destruction directly weakens him.
  • Even after recognizing that he is outmatched, Rex refuses to retreat and instead attacks Isaac, showing determination and willingness to fight to the death.

Significant Themes

  • The danger and potential of new power: Isaac’s black hole ability is extraordinarily destructive but still unstable, emphasizing the gap between theoretical mastery and practical control.
  • Power built on sacrifice: Rex’s temporary strength depends on the Magic Array Guards losing their identities and risking death whenever he is injured, highlighting the brutal cost of forced fusion and artificial advancement.
  • Knowledge through conflict: Isaac deliberately prolongs observation rather than immediately defeating Rex, viewing battle as a source of information and an opportunity for research.
  • Transcendence beyond conventional morality: Isaac considers whether the brainwashing and exploitation behind the Magic Array Guards could qualify as a “Great Deed,” suggesting that the world’s laws may judge results rather than morality.
  • The shifting balance of power: The larger conflict is portrayed as an unprecedented struggle affecting the major forces of the Main World, with resurrection removing the usual fear of death and encouraging increasingly reckless battles.

Character Interactions

  • Isaac and Rex’s confrontation shifts from a dangerous clash between near-equals to a one-sided battle after Rex’s strength collapses.
  • Isaac watches Rex recover instead of attacking immediately, both to study him and to test his own new abilities.
  • Rex responds to Isaac’s challenge through action rather than words, using Crimson Flame Streak in a final attempt to break through Isaac’s defenses.
  • Isaac decisively defeats Rex by combining Authority-based restraint with the Petrification Magic Eye, then withdraws before the approaching forces arrive.

Ch. 436Traces of the Rules

Chapter Summary: “Traces of the Rules”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Isaac establishes a concealed laboratory in an underground cavern during the war game. He restrains Rex and the Magic Array Guards, releases them from petrification, and separates the Guards from his body for examination.
  • He summons Hamon and activates his Authority Spell, Eye of Omniscience, allowing him to analyze the Magic Array Guards in detail.
  • Isaac discovers that the Magic Array Guard path is extraordinarily powerful but brutally corrupting:
    • It can fuse with thousands of people and distribute half of the host’s damage among the Guards.
    • Practitioners gradually lose their emotions and eventually become obedient puppets.
    • Advancing to Fourth Tier requires death, transforming the practitioner either into a powerful enchanted magic crystal or a cultivation-enhancing fruit.
  • The fruit form is particularly valuable to Third- and Fourth-Tier knights, whose Furnace Method allows them to consume and refine it efficiently. However, Demigod-imposed rule modifications create hidden disadvantages, including reduced cultivation efficiency and difficulty reaching Sixth Tier.
  • Isaac realizes that these disadvantages are not inherent flaws but restrictions deliberately embedded into the Small World’s rules to prevent the Magic Array Guards from being abused.
  • He decides to preserve the Magic Array Guards’ secrets rather than reveal them to other nations. He intends to destroy the Auks Kingdom and bury the knowledge once he becomes powerful enough.
  • Because the war game may end at any moment—and Isaac remains a marked target as the “king”—he limits most experiments to data collection. His immediate goal becomes improving the Eye of Omniscience so it can observe rules even outside the Small World.
  • Outside the world, Demigod-level observers recognize that Isaac’s Analysis Authority resembles that of a dormant or absent member of the Mad Witch Society. They realize Isaac’s Authority Spell is already Sixth Tier despite his own lower level, an abnormality characteristic of Mad Witches.
  • The observers begin discussing whether gray robes should be added to the influential Black-and-White Project, highlighting the gray-robed wizard’s importance.

Character Developments

  • Isaac demonstrates his characteristic combination of ruthlessness, curiosity, and restraint. Though willing to study horrifying magical paths, he rejects personally using the Magic Array Guard’s “human fruit” method and focuses instead on extracting knowledge.
  • He becomes more aware of the Demigods’ manipulation of rules and begins treating the war game not merely as a battle but as a rare research opportunity.
  • Isaac’s priorities become clearer: survival comes first, followed by long-term research into Authority, rules, and the simplification of extraordinary paths.
  • The Magic Array Guards are revealed to be victims as well as weapons. Their power depends on the erosion of emotion, individuality, and ultimately life itself.
  • The outside Demigod observers grow increasingly interested in Isaac, recognizing both his unusual Authority Spell and his potential to become an exceptional future wizard.
  • The gray-robed wizard, associated with the Mad Witch Society and the Black-and-White Project, is shown to possess significant influence and reacts with restrained surprise to Isaac’s progress.

Significant Themes

  • Power at the cost of humanity: The Magic Array Guard path exchanges emotion, individuality, and life for strength and utility.
  • The ethics of knowledge: Isaac studies an evil system without endorsing it, raising questions about whether understanding dangerous power can be separated from exploiting it.
  • Rules as hidden instruments of control: The Demigods have deliberately modified the world’s laws to balance powerful abilities, demonstrating that reality itself can be designed to restrict or guide evolution.
  • Survival versus morality: Isaac’s willingness to conceal the Guards’ secret reflects his pragmatic belief that dangerous knowledge must remain hidden until he can control its consequences.
  • Limits and exceptional talent: Isaac’s Sixth-Tier Authority Spell despite his lower personal realm reinforces his status as an unprecedented anomaly.
  • Research as power: Isaac’s greatest advantage is not raw strength but his ability to observe, analyze, and convert unusual phenomena into future advantages.

Character Interactions

  • Isaac restrains and studies Rex and the Magic Array Guards, treating them as experimental subjects while ensuring they cannot interfere.
  • His magical pet Hamon assists him by contributing to the activation of the Eye of Omniscience, illustrating the unusual advantages Isaac gains from his bond with powerful familiars.
  • The Demigod observers debate the origin of Isaac’s Analysis Authority and connect it to a dormant figure linked to the Mad Witch Society.
  • A purple-haired Witch, a gray-robed wizard, and a white-robed Arcane Master exchange observations about Isaac’s Authority Spell and his significance.
  • The discussion culminates in the suggestion that gray robes may need to be added to the Black-and-White Project, implicitly acknowledging the gray-robed wizard’s status and influence.

Ch. 437Little Mouse: Is this right? Where did my huge romantic showdown go?

Chapter Summary

Key Plot Points and Events

  • The gray-robed wizard explains that he once believed the Mad Witches needed a “gray” position between the black-and-white factions. However, Isaac’s appearance convinced him that modern wizards should commit to either black or white. The Demigod Wizards agree, believing Isaac’s extreme behavior has revived the dangerous tendencies of the old Mad Witches.
  • The Demigods discuss how the Mad Witch Society had been gradually reforming under the Legendary Gate, even experimenting with systems such as the Terra Empire’s Emperor Token. Isaac’s arrival halted those efforts, including plans for a Demigod Token exchange, because the Mad Witches were already dangerously reckless without such resources.
  • The Demigods acknowledge that Mad Witches remain important to Wizard Civilization, but believe the old, violent methods no longer suit the current era. Their plan to awaken the Evil God is partly intended to give younger Mad Witches more choices and correct past mistakes.
  • Meanwhile, Caesar’s group discovers a small altar but is confronted by a powerful knight party led by Amy, a Third Tier fighter. Little Mouse, Lapis Lazuli, and the Holy Master prepare to attack, but Caesar effortlessly suppresses all three of their attacks with his magic.
  • Cheryl recognizes Amy and reveals that the two groups already have a connection. Amy’s hostility immediately disappears when Cheryl greets her warmly.
  • Little Mouse notices the awkward atmosphere between Caesar and Amy and assumes they are involved in a love triangle, especially because Caesar is already married to someone else. He becomes excited by the prospect of witnessing romantic drama.
  • Cheryl proposes an alliance between the two groups. Amy initially hesitates because she dislikes working with Caesar, but agrees because cooperation will improve their chances of obtaining more altars and points.
  • The two sides agree to divide altar points evenly, while battle points will be calculated according to each member’s contribution by Cheryl. Amy accepts the terms immediately because she trusts Cheryl’s fairness.
  • Caesar also states that his group will direct the combat strategy, since they have prepared extensive tactics. Amy readily agrees, leaving her teammates confused by her lack of negotiation.
  • Little Mouse is disappointed that the expected love triangle seems to have turned into Amy’s obvious willingness to cooperate with Caesar.

Character Developments

  • Isaac: His influence continues to reshape the Mad Witches and Wizard Civilization. His aggressive, old-fashioned methods are viewed as both admirable and dangerous, making him a symbol of a bygone era that the Demigods do not want revived.
  • The gray-robed wizard and the Demigods: They reaffirm their commitment to the Black-and-White Project and reject the idea of returning to a morally ambiguous “gray” path. They see civilization’s future as one based on development without the bloody methods of the past.
  • Little Mouse: He remains highly observant, excitable, and fond of gossip. He is astonished by Caesar’s strength and becomes fascinated by what he believes is a romantic conflict between Caesar and Amy.
  • Lapis Lazuli: She has abandoned the goal of becoming fully human, choosing strength and usefulness instead. Though she still hates her original demonic appearance, she accepts using her true abilities to better support Isaac.
  • The Holy Master: He reacts quickly and displays an intimidating array of dimensional magic, emphasizing his dangerous power and his status as one of Isaac’s formidable familiars.
  • Caesar: He demonstrates overwhelming combat power despite being only Third Tier, suppressing three powerful opponents with ease. He acts responsibly and pragmatically, stopping an unnecessary battle and organizing a fair alliance.
  • Amy: She initially resents Caesar and appears to harbor complicated feelings toward him, likely connected to his marriage. Nevertheless, she prioritizes practical cooperation and trusts Cheryl enough to accept fair terms without bargaining.
  • Cheryl: She serves as the social bridge between the two groups. Her familiarity with Amy prevents a fight, and her reputation for fairness makes the alliance possible.

Significant Themes

  • Old versus new methods: The Demigods’ discussion contrasts the Mad Witches’ violent traditions with the newer ideal of peaceful, controlled development.
  • The danger of extremism: Isaac’s power and influence are respected, but his methods threaten to reignite the reckless behavior the Mad Witch Society has worked to overcome.
  • Trust and cooperation: The alliance between Caesar and Amy’s groups depends largely on Cheryl’s reputation and the mutual belief that fair cooperation is more valuable than aggressive competition.
  • Appearance versus reality: Amy’s initial hostility suggests conflict, but her behavior changes instantly around Cheryl and Caesar. Likewise, Lapis Lazuli’s appearance and identity contrast with her decision to use her abilities for constructive purposes.
  • Comedy through misunderstanding: Little Mouse interprets the tense interactions as the beginning of a romantic triangle, only to find that Amy’s supposed dramatic feelings result in smooth cooperation instead.

Character Interactions

  • The gray-robed wizard and the Demigods unite in their criticism of Isaac’s influence while still acknowledging his impressive abilities.
  • Little Mouse, Lapis Lazuli, and the Holy Master nearly attack Amy’s knights, but Caesar intervenes with overwhelming force.
  • Cheryl and Amy share a warm reunion that instantly dissolves the knights’ hostility.
  • Amy and Caesar interact awkwardly, with Amy trying to remain businesslike despite her apparent personal feelings, while Caesar seems frustrated by the situation.
  • Cheryl negotiates the alliance, and Amy accepts largely because she trusts Cheryl.
  • Little Mouse watches the interactions eagerly, expecting romantic drama but ending the chapter confused and disappointed when the “love triangle” turns into a practical partnership.

Ch. 438Caesar, the Prince of Dreamwalking Wonderland: I Can't Marry Them All, I Really Can't!

Chapter Summary

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Little Mouse realizes that the anticipated romantic rivalry surrounding Caesar has largely disappeared because several potential rivals have become additional teammates, greatly improving the group’s search efficiency.
  • After the group discovers two Bone Altars and earns a point, they encounter two more women who are angry with Caesar, especially because Amy is accompanying him. Little Mouse excitedly interprets this as the long-awaited “love-rival battle.”
  • Hoping to encourage the drama, Little Mouse gives Cheryl several Artificial Divinity Fragments. Cheryl accepts them, explaining their practical uses in golems and potions, though they are less valuable because substitutes are more common.
  • Cheryl and Little Mouse mentally discuss Caesar’s romantic history. The two new women were former companions from Caesar’s adventuring years and developed strong, unrequited feelings for him.
  • Cheryl reveals that Caesar has more than twenty women who harbor deep feelings for him, while over a hundred others have weaker romantic attachments. Little Mouse is stunned by the number.
  • The explanation is Caesar’s connection to the Great Creation known as Dreamwalking Wonderland, a realm outside normal time where people from different eras and spaces can meet. This allowed Caesar to form relationships with many women over what appeared to be a relatively short period.
  • Cheryl explains that future knowledge cannot normally be brought out of Dreamwalking Wonderland, either because of the laws of time and space or because the realm’s creator prevents it.
  • After the argument ends, Caesar introduces the two women as new members of the group. Though they are not team leaders, they will accompany Caesar and the others from then on.
  • Cheryl reacts knowingly, while Little Mouse is delighted that the romantic complications have multiplied.

Character Developments

  • Little Mouse remains obsessed with romantic drama and eagerly tries to provoke or observe conflicts between Caesar and his admirers. Its shock at the number of women connected to Caesar also leads it to recognize the extraordinary nature of his fate.
  • Cheryl acts as the more rational observer. She understands the political and practical reasons Caesar could take multiple wives but doubts he can realistically manage so many relationships. She also provides important information about Dreamwalking Wonderland.
  • Caesar is revealed to have a remarkable, almost protagonist-like destiny. Although he understands the women’s feelings, he is awkward and uncertain about how to deal with the sheer number of them.
  • The two newly introduced women are established as former adventuring companions who still resent Caesar for not choosing them first, yet remain interested enough to join his group.
  • Amy becomes a source of jealousy for Caesar’s former confidantes simply because of her current closeness to him.

Significant Themes

  • Romantic rivalry versus companionship: What Little Mouse hopes will become a dramatic love battle instead results in the rivals joining the team.
  • The consequences of extraordinary destiny: Caesar’s connection to Dreamwalking Wonderland has shaped his unusual romantic history and made his life resemble that of a legendary protagonist.
  • Polygamy and political responsibility: The chapter discusses how rulers may marry multiple partners for political alliances, succession, and the need for several talented heirs.
  • Time, space, and fate: Dreamwalking Wonderland challenges ordinary limits on time and relationships, while still enforcing restrictions on transferring future knowledge.
  • Gossip and entertainment: Little Mouse and Cheryl treat the romantic complications as amusing spectacle, with Little Mouse valuing the drama almost as much as the mission.

Character Interactions

  • Little Mouse gives Cheryl Divinity Fragments in exchange for her participation in discussing the romantic situation.
  • Cheryl and Little Mouse privately analyze the history and motives of Caesar’s admirers.
  • The two new women confront Caesar and Amy, creating the romantic tension Little Mouse has been waiting for.
  • Caesar awkwardly introduces the former confidantes to the group, while Cheryl responds with knowing skepticism.
  • Little Mouse enthusiastically watches the expanded group, declaring the situation entertaining enough that it would accept losing the war game.

Ch. 439Authority · Divine Authority · Ancient Sorcery · Flesh Mutation

Chapter Summary

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Isaac completes a brief experiment on the Magic Array Guards in the underground cavern. Because of the War Game’s restrictions, he is forbidden from conducting invasive research such as dissection or transplantation.
  • After disposing of the test subjects, Isaac checks his accumulated points. He discovers that he himself generated most of the points, while Caesar and the others contributed very little.
  • Isaac reasons that Caesar’s team is relatively safe because the War Game prevents high-tier fighters from attacking weaker opponents. Since Caesar possesses Fourth Tier combat ability despite technically being Third Tier, other Third Tier teams would be foolish to challenge him.
  • Isaac uses the Authority spell Eye of Omniscience to observe half of the Small World and prepare for a large-scale hunt, intending to collect points and gather experimental data by targeting other participants.
  • Just as he prepares to teleport, the War Game announces a new calamity: the Void Tide, which causes all spatial magic to deviate unpredictably.
  • Isaac adapts by using Electromagnetic Flux, an Authority spell that allows him to travel as lightning. He avoids using the Pumpkin Carriage because its spatial abilities might behave unpredictably under the Void Tide.
  • Isaac locates a group attempting to destroy a Bone Altar. Their Fourth Tier leader senses his arrival and summons a massive pale-violet jellyfish-like magical construct for defense.
  • Isaac and Hamon jointly cast Authority · Divine Authority · Ancient Sorcery · Flesh Mutation, an overwhelmingly powerful spell that penetrates the construct’s defenses and engulfs the group in grotesque, destructive magic. The chapter ends as “hell” descends upon them.

Character Developments

  • Isaac is portrayed as increasingly confident, calculating, and predatory. He treats the War Game as both a competition and a source of experimental subjects.
  • He demonstrates flexibility and composure when the Void Tide disrupts his preferred method of movement. Rather than being hindered, he immediately switches to another Authority spell.
  • Isaac’s mastery of magic has advanced significantly. His formerly outdated Flesh Mutation spell has been refined into a powerful Ancient Sorcery capable of combining multiple high-level magical systems.
  • Caesar is established as an abnormal or “bug-like” combatant: officially Third Tier, but possessing Fourth Tier fighting strength. His team’s survival depends largely on avoiding unnecessary challenges.
  • Hamon continues to function as Isaac’s terrifying magical partner, amplifying the grotesque and demonic nature of Isaac’s spells.

Significant Themes

  • Power and exploitation: Isaac views other participants primarily as prey, sources of points, and experimental material.
  • Adaptation under imposed rules: Even powerful characters must respond to the War Game’s restrictions and calamities. Isaac’s strength lies not only in raw power but also in his ability to change tactics.
  • The limits of advancement: Ancient Sorcery was created to overcome the gap between tiers, but it still cannot fully surpass the barrier between Fourth and Fifth Tier. The chapter emphasizes both the possibilities and limitations of magical evolution.
  • Predator and prey: Isaac deliberately embraces the role of hunter, reversing the expectations of the War Game and turning other competitors into test subjects.
  • Magic as experimentation: Isaac’s spells are not merely weapons; they are ongoing projects that he continually modifies, combines, and upgrades.

Character Interactions

  • Isaac’s relationship with Caesar and his team is strategic rather than directly personal. He relies on their ability to survive until the end while recognizing that they are unlikely to earn many points.
  • Isaac and Hamon cooperate seamlessly in casting Flesh Mutation, combining Isaac’s magical expertise with Hamon’s demonic power.
  • Isaac’s confrontation with the Fourth Tier knight highlights the contrast between the knight’s alertness and defensive preparation and Isaac’s overwhelming superiority. Despite detecting the threat quickly, the knight cannot withstand Isaac’s enhanced Ancient Sorcery.

Ch. 440Gray Robe Wizard: The god will agree

Chapter Summary

Isaac’s sinister Flesh Mutation spell bypasses the Jellyfish Knight’s protective force field and causes the surrounding crowd’s body parts to become independently alive and rearranged. The Jellyfish Knight himself remains unaffected because his specialized regeneration technique has embedded powerful Self-Will throughout his flesh, granting resistance to mutation magic. Isaac realizes that although his spell has reached the peak of the Fourth Tier, the knight’s regenerative mechanics counter it; Isaac would need Fifth Tier power to overcome him directly.
Instead, Isaac summons a Fourth Tier avatar of the powerful Outer God Lord of Billions of Radiance through his Divine Tome. At Isaac’s command, the avatar fires a radiant beam that dissolves the Jellyfish Knight’s body despite his defensive stance and extraordinary regeneration. Isaac recognizes that the Lord’s Radiance Authority does not truly equal Dominion, as it possesses only a fraction of Dominion’s power, but it is still overwhelmingly superior to a Fourth Tier knight.
The surviving Third Tier knights begin mentally collapsing after witnessing the slaughter. Concerned that their mental states might not be restored by the Demigods’ resurrection system, Isaac has the radiant avatar kill them as well, then dismisses it. When a genuine Fifth Tier powerhouse approaches, Isaac chooses not to fight. He transforms into a Fifth Tier dragon and flees, acknowledging that he lacks the strength—and the willingness—to risk a direct battle.
Beyond the world, the watching Demigods argue over Isaac’s participation in the event. Some believe he should never have been allowed to join, while others point out that excluding a Fourth Tier participant would have been unfair to the Solomon Kingdom, especially since Isaac is connected to Caesar and “that lady.” They are embarrassed that a supposedly weak “Mad Witch” has repeatedly disrupted their carefully designed rules and even possesses a Divine Tome capable of commanding powerful gods.
The dispute ends when the gray-robed wizard volunteers to intervene. He plans to negotiate with the Lord of Billions of Radiance by threatening to cut away half of Its Radiance Dimension, confident that the Outer God will understand the implied pressure. The others accept this solution, though they resent that it may unintentionally benefit Isaac by preventing the Lord from awakening before Isaac reaches the Fifth Tier.

Character Developments and Interactions

  • Isaac demonstrates tactical intelligence rather than relying solely on brute force. He recognizes the Jellyfish Knight’s resistance, summons a superior entity to eliminate him, and retreats immediately from a genuine Fifth Tier opponent.
  • The Jellyfish Knight is shown to be highly experienced and cautious, refusing to trust his regeneration blindly. His specialized Self-Will protects him from Isaac’s mutation spell, but it cannot withstand the Lord of Radiance’s overwhelming power.
  • The Lord of Billions of Radiance acts as Isaac’s devastating summoned weapon, obeying his command without appearing to require the attention of Its true body.
  • The Demigods become frustrated and divided over Isaac, whose actions expose the inadequacy of their rules and threaten their authority.
  • The gray-robed wizard emerges as a calm, pragmatic mediator, ending the dispute through a calculated threat rather than argument.

Significant Themes

  • Power versus mechanics: Raw spell penetration is not always decisive; specialized abilities such as the knight’s Self-Will and regeneration can counter stronger magic.
  • Tactical survival: Isaac knows when to attack and when to flee, valuing long-term advancement over reckless combat.
  • Authority and control: Isaac’s ability to command a powerful Outer God undermines the Demigods’ assumption that they control the event.
  • Rules failing under exceptional individuals: The Demigods’ elaborate restrictions cannot contain Isaac, exposing the limits of institutional power.
  • The danger of excessive power: Isaac’s attack is so horrifying that it breaks the minds of weaker opponents, forcing him to consider the consequences of his own methods.
