| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Ordinary human Master / Spirit Graph Projection user | 84, 182 | Though a poor Magus by talent, Gudako trains extensively and masters Spirit Graph Projection, allowing her to call Servant shadows with their recognition and permission. |
| Craft Essence artificial Mage Circuits | 244–246 | Da Vinci's backpack-like Mystic Code enables repeated Servant summoning, but circulating its Magic Power scorches Gudako's nervous system and risks permanent damage. |
| Ten Rings-rebuilt body and Seven Virtues organs | 253–286 | Her body is remade after the Final Singularity. The organs conceptually embody the Seven Virtues, influencing her mind and granting resistance to emotion-inciting Authorities. |
| Crown-and-wings transformation | 317–319 | The Ten Rings inject further power, giving Gudako white wings, a scepter, a princess-like dress, immense Magic Power, and destructive magic cannons. Sakura identifies a Beast-like aura within her. |
| Sealed potential for Human Evil | 319–321 | Sakura uses calamity and an elaborate multi-system seal to suppress Gudako's power and reduce her possibility of becoming Human Evil; Gudako is transferred away before the seal is fully completed. |
| Golden-egg angelic evolution | 418 | Gudako evolves inside a golden egg as her body becomes increasingly magical; she no longer requires oxygen and can convert Aether or True Aether into oxygen and Magic Power. |
| Living-dead angel form | 427–428 | Yahweh's alterations produce an ashen, cracked form with a halo and three pairs of gray wings. After regaining consciousness and shedding a wing to escape Sakura's calamity, she returns to a weaker pinkish-white form with five white wings. |
| Jacob's Limbs | 429 | Yahweh temporarily grants Gudako the ancient martial art Jacob's Limbs, allowing her to contend with Sakura in close combat after previously being overwhelmed. |
Background / History
Gudako begins as Chaldea's Master and an apparently ordinary human with limited Magus talent. Merlin enhances her with Avalon during the battle against Vortigern, and she demonstrates Spirit Graph Projection by manifesting a Servant recognized by her to fight in her place 84.
Her lack of natural aptitude does not stop her from becoming a capable Master. Through training and repeated combat alongside Servants, she develops Spirit Graph Shadows into a reliable battlefield asset and earns the loyalty of the Heroic Spirits she summons 182 204.
During the Uruk conflict, Gudako negotiates Wicked Child Ibaraki into assisting Chaldea by using private photographs of Shuten-dōji as leverage. She later confronts Sakura Matou directly, refusing to retreat despite Sakura's overwhelming superiority in close combat 183 193.
At the Final Singularity, Gudako pushes Da Vinci's artificial Mage Circuit Craft Essence beyond safe limits to summon Servants against Goetia. Her nerves are repeatedly damaged by the strain, but she continues fighting after Medusa sacrifices herself to protect her and Mashu 244 245. Following Goetia's defeat, her body is rebuilt through the Ten Rings' influence, leaving her with altered internal organs and increasingly dangerous potential 253 286.
In the Qin Lostbelt, the Ten Rings awaken dramatically when Gudako fights Sakura's Alterego, the King's Flower. Her angelic transformation gives her enough firepower to defeat it in a single attack, but it also distorts her behavior and brings her into a destructive battle with Sakura 317 321.
Later, Yahweh's continued modifications force Gudako into a further angelic evolution. She emerges as a living-dead, winged being and battles Sakura again, eventually regaining her own will while knowingly accepting Yahweh's power to continue opposing Sakura 418 427 428.
Appearance
Gudako is initially described as a slender, ordinary-looking young woman whose physical ability comes primarily from training and Mystic Code enhancement rather than an exceptional natural body 84 182.
- In her Crown-and-wings transformation, she manifests pure white wings, falling feathers, a pink-and-white princess-like dress, and an ornate scepter 317.
- Her later angelic undead form has pale, cracked skin, vacant eyes, a halo, and three pairs of gray wings 427.
- After regaining consciousness, she appears pinkish-white and retains five asymmetrical white wings 428.
Personality
Gudako is usually cheerful, approachable, and somewhat scatterbrained. Her relaxed behavior can turn mischievous—especially toward Servants she finds appealing—but she forms unusually deep bonds with them and is repeatedly described as possessing exceptional charm toward Heroic Spirits 182 357 361.
Beneath that playful exterior, she is tenacious and willing to accept severe personal risk for Chaldea. She continues summoning through nerve damage at the Temple of Solomon and nearly injects herself with Magic Marrow Fluid, despite the risk of permanent paralysis, to reach the Nautilus and save her allies 244 245 379.
Her transformed states can alter her demeanor sharply. Under the Crown-and-wings power, she becomes mocking, aggressive, and openly speaks of devouring Sakura; after recovering from Yahweh's control, she retains her awareness but consciously chooses to keep fighting Sakura 317 318 428.
Abilities & Skills
Spirit Graph Projection
Gudako uses a specialized variation of Projection Magecraft to manifest Servant shadows.
- Projecting a Servant requires that Servant's recognition and permission 84.
- She can summon a Spirit Graph Shadow to intercept attacks or fight beside her 182 379.
- She can call Servants with whom she has formed bonds across Singularities to the battlefield 204 244.
- Sakura is able to imitate this ability after stealing a Spirit Graph Shadow through the Golden Holy Grail 286 314.
Mastery of Servant Summoning
Gudako serves as a conduit for Chaldea's summoned Heroic Spirits and their Magic Power.
- She summons Servants through her Craft Essence during the Temple of Solomon assault 244.
- With the Fruit of Wisdom as fuel, she maintains repeated summons until the strain forces her to collapse 244.
- She instinctively distributes received Magic Power among contracted Servants in an almost ideal ratio 251.
- Her exceptional affinity with Servants makes it easier for her to earn their cooperation and loyalty 182 358 361.
Combat Training and Magecraft
Although not naturally gifted as a Magus, Gudako has learned combat techniques from numerous Servants.
- She can fight divine army soldiers in close quarters using throws, kicks, and captured weapons 379.
- She uses basic Magecraft to analyze and operate enemy equipment, including a divine army spear 379.
- Her Craft Essence can temporarily overload her muscles, allowing her to move faster than weakened Servants 390.
- Her technical skill remains below Sakura's refined martial arts, even when supported by Yahweh's angelic body 429.
Ten Rings and Seven Virtues
Gudako's reconstructed body is tied to the Ten Rings and the conceptual organs within her.
- Her internal organs correspond to chastity, diligence, generosity, humility, gentleness, temperance, and tolerance 286.
- The organs influence her consciousness and were seemingly intended to shape her into a saintly vessel 286.
- Their effects protect her from Authorities that provoke dissatisfaction, conflict, or discord 286.
- The Ten Rings can release extreme Magic Power, trigger transformations, and empower her contracted Servants 313 316 317.
Angelic Magic
Gudako's awakened forms grant her massive magical output and aerial mobility.
- She flies using manifested wings and wields a scepter as a magical focus 317.
- Her cherry-pink magic cannons defeat the King's Flower and can damage Sakura 317 318.
- In her later form, gray magic cannons carve a massive abyss into the seabed and leave curse-like marks that Sakura cannot easily remove 428.
- Her power is unstable: Sakura's calamity can severely injure her, while her own altered organs continuously repair damage 428.
Jacob's Limbs
A martial art temporarily bestowed by Yahweh.
- Its techniques are delivered directly into Gudako's memory during battle 429.
- It lets her evade Sakura's attacks and exchange blows with her after being decisively outclassed 429.
- The ability is external assistance from Yahweh rather than a skill Gudako independently mastered 429.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Artificial Mage Circuit Craft Essence — Da Vinci-designed Mystic Code that acts as artificial Mage Circuits for Servant summoning; prolonged use damages Gudako's nervous system 244 246.
- One hundred Command Spells — A scroll of Matou-crafted Command Spells given by Sakura before Tiamat's return 205.
- Three special Command Spells — Implanted directly into Gudako's heart by Sakura; can summon a particular individual for a combined total of thirty minutes, but require enormous Magic Power 260.
- Ten Rings — The source of her reconstructed organs, transformations, and much of her abnormal power 286 317.
- Magic Marrow Fluid — An emergency syringe capable of forming temporary pseudo-Mage Circuits; Gudako considers using it despite the risk of permanent paralysis, but Dragon Girl stops her 379.
- Holy Grails — Elizabeth gives Gudako several Holy Grails she had found, treating them as ordinary objects 362.
Relationships
- Mash Kyrielight — Gudako's closest battlefield partner. Mashu consistently shields her, follows her decisions without hesitation, and supports her during both summoning operations and dangerous infiltrations 181 244 379.
- Sakura Matou — A recurring opponent and reluctant ally. Sakura comes to recognize Gudako as a real person rather than a fictional construct, but repeatedly battles and attempts to seal Gudako's potential for Human Evil 194 319 321 428.
- Romani Archaman — Chaldea's central support figure and someone Gudako deeply trusts. The Ten Rings associated with Gudako are identified as having been given by Roman, and Gudako fights to protect him and the rest of Chaldea 253 313 379.
- Merlin — An early enhancer and frequent ally who implants Avalon in Gudako and later fights beside her against Sakura 84 193.
- King of the Caves — Gudako's guardian spirit. He protects her consciousness from the Crown, safeguards her golden egg from Merli, and treats Gudako's condition as his responsibility 290 317 425.
- Elizabeth (Dragon Girl) — A Servant Gudako befriends and attempts to contract with. Elizabeth gives her multiple Holy Grails and later stops Gudako from using Magic Marrow Fluid 362 379.
- Ereshkigal and Nezha — Servants strongly attached to Gudako through her unusual personal charm; both defend her when danger approaches 358 379.
- BB — A wary temporary associate who offers combat assistance in exchange for Gudako's Command Spell 371.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Uruk and the Underworld
Gudako acts as Chaldea's field Master during the Uruk crisis. She negotiates Ibaraki's assistance, follows King Hassan to the Underworld, retrieves Gilgamesh's Tablet of Destiny, and summons bonded Servants to oppose threats such as Gorgon and Tiamat 183 185 187 204.
Temple of Solomon
Gudako leads Chaldea's push toward Goetia's core. She relies on artificial Mage Circuits to summon Heroic Spirits, suffers severe nervous-system damage, and continues advancing despite exhaustion and the loss of Medusa 244 246. She stands with Mashu before the defeated Goetia and declares humanity's victory, only for the conflict to continue when Goetia returns in human form 252 253.
Qin Lostbelt
After the Ten Rings' alterations are discovered, Gudako becomes central to Sakura's concerns over Human Evil. Her power awakens against the King's Flower, transforming her into a winged, scepter-wielding combatant capable of fighting Sakura directly 286 317. Sakura eventually incapacitates and partially seals her before Chaldea retrieves her through Spiritron Transfer 319 321.
Olympus and Yahweh's Alterations
Gudako remains Chaldea's principal Master through the conflict with Zeus and the divine army, fighting on foot when Chaldea cannot adequately support its Servants 371 379. Yahweh's modifications later force her into an angelic evolution, culminating in her living-dead winged form and another destructive confrontation with Sakura 418 427 429.
