"Adventurer's Guild"

Shien looked at the guild employee smiling at him from across the counter, pondered for a moment, then spoke.

"Excuse me, what procedures are required to become an adventurer?"

That was what Shien asked.

Yes, Shien intended to become an adventurer.

Having just arrived in this world, becoming an adventurer seemed unavoidable if he wanted to make a living here.

So, Shien planned to try being an adventurer first before making further plans.

At the very least, he could not let himself starve to death, right?

"Certainly. You wish to become an adventurer, is that correct?"

The smile on the guild employee's face did not fade, as though she had long anticipated Shien's purpose in coming here.

"Then please allow me to first explain the essential matters concerning adventurers and the Adventurer's Guild."

With that, the guild employee began her explanation in a fluent, practiced manner.

"First, you may already know some of this, but let me explain what adventurers are and what the Adventurer's Guild is."

Just as Shien had learned earlier, adventurers were a group of people who engaged in adventuring activities and worked by accepting all sorts of commissions.

They were found throughout every country in the world.

They first appeared shortly after the war of a thousand years ago had ended.

In order to repair the various damages caused by the war, the races, all suffering from a shortage of manpower, gradually produced groups of people who would lend their strength to those commissioning work in exchange for payment.

After a thousand years of development, those people became the adventurers of today.

By now, adventurers were a common sight throughout Omnipotens. They were also a group relied upon by the upper ranks of every nation and deeply trusted by the people.

The Adventurer's Guild was the organization to which adventurers belonged. It was responsible for managing adventurers, accepting commissions for them from every region and faction, screening those commissions, categorizing them by difficulty, and offering them for adventurers to choose from.

At least one Adventurer's Guild branch could be found in every city and town across the world. The guild's headquarters was located in the royal capital of the Kingdom of Mithra, the birthplace of adventurers. Lamigium, where Shien currently was, belonged to the Kingdom of Mithra, which was also the largest known nation at present.

Shien wanted to know more about this country, but the guild employee did not seem inclined to elaborate.

Then there was the "war of a thousand years ago" and the "various races" the guild employee had mentioned. Shien felt the urge to ask about those as well.

Of course, the latter was not entirely beyond his understanding.

Ever since entering the town of Lamigium, Shien had seen all manner of unbelievable beings along the way.

There were Beastfolk with animal ears and tails.

There were Dwarves with broad builds and short statures.

There were even Elves with pointed ears and extraordinarily beautiful features.

These races, which had existed only in legends from his previous life, now appeared naturally throughout the town. Quite a few could even be seen in this Adventurer's Guild, mingling harmoniously with humans. It truly had a dreamlike atmosphere.

This Another World apparently did not contain humans alone. It had all sorts of races.

After all, even gods and Demon Kings existed, so this was hardly surprising.

Still, Shien was somewhat concerned about that "war of a thousand years ago."

But it seemed to be common knowledge in this world, and the guild employee did not appear to intend to explain it specifically. Shien could only suppress his curiosity and continue listening.

At that point, the guild employee began the important explanation.

"To become an adventurer, you must first reach the legally recognized age of adulthood for your race. Humans and Beastfolk reach it at fifteen, Dwarves at fifty, and Elves at one hundred and fifty. Your level must also be at least ten. Only then will you meet the requirements to become an adventurer."

"Adventurers are also divided into ranks."

"Adventurers at Level Ten or above are first-class adventurers and will be awarded a Black Iron First-Class Junior Medal by the Adventurer's Guild."

"Adventurers at Level Twenty or above are second-class adventurers and will be awarded a Bronze Second-Class Intermediate Medal by the Adventurer's Guild."

"Adventurers at Level Thirty or above are third-class adventurers and will be awarded a Silver Third-Class Senior Medal by the Adventurer's Guild."

"Adventurers at Level Forty or above are fourth-class adventurers and will be awarded a Gold Fourth-Class Top Medal by the Adventurer's Guild."

"Adventurers at Level Fifty or above are fifth-class adventurers and will be awarded a Platinum Fifth-Class Special Medal by the Adventurer's Guild."

"Adventurers at Level Sixty or above are sixth-class adventurers and will be awarded a Mithril Sixth-Class Famous Medal by the Adventurer's Guild."

"Adventurers at level seventy or above are seventh-class adventurers and will be awarded an Obsidian Seventh-Class Honor Medal by the Adventurer's Guild."

"In theory, seventh-class adventurers are the highest-ranking adventurers. Even across all the Adventurer's Guilds throughout the world, there are only thirty-three adventurers of this rank. Four of them have even reached Level Eighty or above, while one has surpassed Level Ninety. Though they are still seventh-class adventurers publicly and hold Obsidian Seventh-Class Honor Medals, these five occupy a different status from other seventh-class adventurers. Each receives lavish treatment from nations across the world. Some have even been made honorary nobles. At times, they accept national-level commissions capable of determining a country's fate, or direct commissions from royal families, and enjoy immense fame."

"Our Adventurer's Guild welcomes anyone who wishes to join. We look forward to everyone making their mark on the world stage as adventurers. So long as they have not lost their 'Blessing,' we will never refuse them."

At those words, Shien raised an eyebrow.

This so-called "Blessing" was another intriguing term.

Unaware of what Shien was thinking, the guild employee took out an item and placed it on the counter.

It was a device with a crystal floating inside it, resembling a small globe without a map.

"This is a Magic Tester. It has the same effect as a Level Six Appraisal Skill. It can detect the levels of individuals below level seventy and Skills below Level Seven. Although it cannot detect Unique Skills or Special Skills, it can detect the presence of a Blessing. Even though it cannot distinguish which god's Blessing it is, it will emit white light so long as the person possesses a Blessing. Otherwise, it will emit black light."

That was what the guild employee explained.

"Please extend one hand and place it above the Magic Tester."

Hearing that, Shien could not help but feel uneasy.

Obviously, if the Magic Tester emitted black light, his treatment would likely undergo a drastic change at once.

What exactly was this so-called "Blessing?"

Judging by the guild employee's explanation, it seemed to be some kind of Skill related to gods.

Shien could not help glancing at one of the Skills in his Skill list—Supreme God's Blessing.

This should count as the "Blessing" he possessed, right?

With that thought, Shien steadied himself, extended his hand, and held it over the Magic Tester.

"Clang!"

The next second, the crystal atop the Magic Tester bloomed with light, and lines of writing from this other world appeared one after another above the device.

Fortunately, the light was white.

Seeing this, the guild employee smiled faintly before shifting her gaze to the text floating above the Magic Tester.

The moment she looked at it, the guild employee froze.
