Shafna had actually already guessed at the suggestion Shien would make.

She knew Shien would propose transferring the curse onto himself.

That was partly why Shafna had been reluctant to mention this method—she had expected Shien to make such a proposal.

As it turned out, Shien had not disappointed her.

"If it's me, then even if I'm cursed, I can use the Holy Sword to remove it." Shien said this to Shafna. "So you don't need to worry about the curse causing me any trouble."

The moment she heard Shien say that, Shafna instinctively rejected the idea.

"But have you considered that you might be cursed to death before you remove it?" Shafna stared straight at Shien. "This curse is carried through the Mind-Weaving Demon's deep connection. Even skills that resist negative conditions will be bypassed."

In other words, Shien's Inner Fate of Heaven would be unable to resist this curse. He would bear all of its power himself, without even the slightest reduction.

"Even the Holy Sword's protection will be bypassed by the Mind-Weaving Demon. If you do this, you'll have to use your mortal flesh to endure this curse of several hundred years in its entirety. Are you sure you can take it?"

Shafna's gaze at Shien was filled with solemnity.

No matter what, Shien was still a human with a mortal body. He was unlike the demons, who were naturally strong and physically exceptional, let alone Demon Men.

Even Shafna had nearly collapsed from this curse's torment. A human with a mortal body like Shien might very well die on the spot the instant he was cursed.

"I don't want little Aiyi to hate me for the rest of her life, and I don't want to owe you for the rest of mine either." Shafna stared intently
