He wore a black robe, and his rough, somewhat fierce face was etched with particularly savage patterns. He looked like a gang boss, enough to make anyone who saw him fear him.

The rough-looking man seemed impatient about something—or perhaps extraordinarily anxious. His hands beneath his black robe kept clenching and rubbing together, producing intermittent cracking sounds like breaking bones.
His name was Gord. He belonged to the Old Demon Faction under the Primal Demon and was one of the apostles serving beneath the Apostle of the Moon, a Legendary-tier expert as high as Level Ninety-Eight.
Among demonkind, Gord was quite a famous figure.
There was no other reason for it. Before joining the Primal Demon, Gord had been a genuine demon officer.
He had once served under the Poison Demon.
He had participated in the final battle a thousand years ago.
He had even fought one of the Thirteen Heroes, thirteen peak Legendary-tier experts of the human race, and lost by only one move.
Thus, Gord had once been a highly respected officer among demonkind.
If he had remained in the Poison Demon's service, perhaps he would now have been the strongest person in the Poison Demon Territory.
After all, the Poison Demon had a full ten officers under his command, the most among the Six Great Demon Lords.
According to the pattern that the more officers one had, the weaker they individually were, the officers under the Poison Demon were undoubtedly not particularly outstanding in terms of individual strength.
