Peter Parker knelt in a corner of a New York street, slumped forward in despair as though Martin Lee had hit him with Salted Fish Energy. Beside him stood a Shiba Inu, wagging his tail with a dopey look on his face.
"D-damn it... I feel like I've lost something important..."
Beneath his mask, Peter Parker shed tears of regret.
I knew Kraft was trouble, but he still got me in the end!
Peter Parker hadn't intended to confirm the upgrade. He would rather fight in an inferior suit than let that brat Kraft run circles around him again...
He was Spider-Man! He would rather die than surrender his dignity!
Unfortunately, Kraft had prepared for that too. When Peter Parker declined the upgrade, the Belt retracted his suit along with his ordinary clothes.
For a moment, aside from the Belt and his Spider-Man mask, Peter Parker wore nothing but a pair of Spider-Man-themed briefs that Kraft had left him out of the last scraps of kindness in his heart.
Good thing I was smart enough to find a secluded corner before putting in the coin!
That was probably the only silver lining.
Seeing how devastated Peter looked, Quinn tilted his head and offered some consolation. "You're pretty pale, woof!"
"Shut up!"
Just as Peter Parker was sinking into self-loathing, Spider-Man received a call from the New York Police.
"Spider-Man, we need your help!"
"What happened now?!"
The moment he heard someone needed help, Peter Parker perked right up.
"There's a criminal going around destroying police cars. They're so fast we can't even tell who's doing it. All we hear is a string of mocking laughter-'hahahahaha.' Judging by the voice, it's probably a young girl."
The officer on the other end sounded utterly frustrated.
"We can't even dispatch patrol cars anymore.
