Martin escaped the Magia Gang's experimental base alongside the young Kraft, whom he brought out after Kraft clung to him during the prisoners' escape. Kraft had lost his earlier memories and took Martin's surname, later becoming his adopted son 2.

After settling in New York's Chinatown with Kraft, Martin received the Medal of Freedom, which secured genuine identities for them.
