The Avengers' superheroes were fighting fiercely against the Chitauri, but as the enemy committed more and more troops, they were gradually struggling to hold on.
What infuriated them even more was that those bastards on the World Security Council hadn't just refused to help-they had actually sent someone to launch a nuclear bomb at New York City.
"I'll intercept it!"
After receiving Nick Fury's call, Tony Stark flew toward the incoming nuclear bomb without hesitation.
"So you made the same choice after all... Uncle Tony."
An unfamiliar voice joined the Avengers' channel. It sounded rather young and spoke in a lazy drawl.
Then Tony Stark saw someone in a black suit appear before him, hovering in midair.
Stark stopped abruptly and eyed the mysterious newcomer warily.
The figure in black ignored him, however, raising his right hand toward the incoming nuclear bomb. Only then did Stark notice the strange pistol with an oversized lightbulb in his hand.
Kraft pulled the trigger. Green light flashed from the Portal Gun's muzzle, and the distant nuclear bomb vanished from the sky as if someone had rubbed it out with an eraser.
"Who are you?"
Although the newcomer had disposed of the nuclear bomb through some miraculous means, Tony Stark remained on guard. Who knew whether he was reinforcements summoned by the Chitauri?
"Someone here to help you, of course~"
The answer also sounded over the Avengers' channel. Stark watched the mysterious figure put away his strange pistol, then tilt his head.
"How did that line go again?"
Kraft thought back for a moment.
"Who called in the fleet!"
