"How is serum production coming along?"
On the top floor of Osborn Tower, Norman Osborn coldly questioned his subordinate.
"Since we have to keep it under wraps, production capacity is somewhat limited. Our current stock is only a little over two hundred and fifty thousand doses."
"That's enough. Once the plan succeeds, we can expand production openly. That stock will be enough to get Osborn back on its feet in the early stages."
Norman nodded and instructed his subordinate, "But production in secret mustn't stop. The more stock we have, the more room we'll have to maneuver later... put the plan into action!"
"Yes, sir!"
His subordinate acknowledged the order, then turned and left Norman's office.
Soon, someone placed a Gaia Microbe Dispersal Device manufactured by Oscorp in an inconspicuous corner atop the Empire State Building.
After activating the timer, the person quickly left and vanished into the night.
The next day, a massive, unusual epidemic suddenly broke out in New York City. Countless residents developed symptoms such as weakness throughout their bodies, coughing up blood, and difficulty breathing, adding another layer of despair to the already chaotic city.
That despair was only for the poor, however. Although the rich couldn't completely cure this previously unknown disease, modern medicine offered them plenty of ways to stay alive.
The poor could only rely on their own constitutions to tough it out.
"I have to say it again: this world's Norman Osborn really is ruthless!"
After Devil's Breath spread, Kraft, who had already reviewed its experimental data, immediately guessed the truth. He then had Angela investigate the Osborn Group's recent activities. Sure enough, they had long since begun secretly producing antiviral serum, waiting for the situation to deteriorate further before stepping forward as saviors.
In truth, Osborn's scheme was nothing new.
