He had only chosen to side with the Kshatriya earlier to avoid complications and gaining another enemy.

"Now, let's get to know each other properly, Tony Stark."

Ivan Vanko swung his whips and gave Tony Stark a cruel smile.

"What an eventful day..." Stark sighed helplessly. "Let's wrap this up as quickly as possible!"

Once he dealt with this Russian, he still had to stop that mysterious green mech from killing Norman Osborn. Hopefully, Spider-Man could hold out a little longer.

Tony Stark's plan sounded good, but once he engaged Ivan Vanko, he found himself locked in a bitter struggle.

Ivan Vanko had taken Stark's advice and increased his reactor's operating speed, giving his mech an output that rivaled Stark's. While its armor wasn't made of vibranium, it was made of high-strength gold-titanium alloy, and it was much thicker than even Colonel James Rhodes's modified Mark II.

Tony Stark wasn't extravagant enough to make ammunition out of vibranium, so his weapons couldn't do any effective damage to Ivan Vanko. His only weapon capable of inflicting serious damage, the single-use laser, had already been used on Kraft.

"I should've prepared a melee weapon for myself, too."

Although Ivan Vanko's two whips couldn't damage the vibranium Mark VI, they could restrain him, and he had no way to counter them.

Moreover, while vibranium offered excellent protection, it conducted electricity like most metals. Even with some insulation built into the Mark VI, the shocks from Ivan's whips still made Tony Stark's scalp tingle.

That gave Tony Stark the idea of equipping his Iron Man suit with a melee weapon.
