Jiu Zi is compassionate and unusually opposed to the Witch Clan's entrenched hostility toward humans. She openly argues against sacrificing humans to revive the Twelve Ancestral Witches, even when much of the clan rejects her position. 301 303

She is also curious, pragmatic, and politically capable. Her initial attempt to lift Wanyan Meng's curse was motivated partly by a wish to understand stronger curse arts, while her later rescue plan exploits the moment when the clan's guards and elders are occupied by the resurrection ritual. 183 281

Jiu Zi enters the Southern Region to gain experience and attends an auction at Tannan Market. There, she attempts to remove Wanyan Meng's ancient curse, triggering a catastrophic backlash that contaminates her with misfortune and intensifies the Jade Blood Toad King's tribulation into purple lightning. 173 180 181

Her Golden Core cultivation is shattered, and she collapses severely wounded outside Tannan Market. Qin Wang rescues her from three tiger demonic beasts, heals her injuries, and shelters her until she awakens three days later. 180 181

Jiu Zi is confined within the Saintess Mansion while the Witch Clan prepares to revive the Twelve Ancestral Witches. After recognizing Qin Wang beneath his Qin Ba disguise, she reveals that Wanyan Meng is intended as a sacrifice and proposes rescuing her during the resurrection ritual. 276 278 281

She and Qin Wang investigate the Twelve Heavenly Pillar Mountains, where she commands the Cyclops guarding the Witch Clan Ancestor Hall and displays an unexplained affinity for the Ancestor's throne. 284 287

She delivers the Chaos Stone to Qin Wang on behalf of Wushen Ji and becomes visibly flustered by their closeness, though she insists to her father that nothing improper exists between them. 311

When Qin Wang suffers the Annihilation Tribulation and loses access to his Candle Dragon Mark, Jiu Zi wants to accompany him into the Underworld but accepts that she would be unable to match his strength there.
