"Ahem!" The moment Roland opened his mouth, blood ran from his nose and the corners of his lips.

"Heh... heh..." A wet, bubbling rasp sounded in Roland's throat, blood clearly flooding his windpipe. Legolas's arrow had plainly shot straight through Roland's lung!

"Pull it out! Pull the arrow out!" Roland ordered while vomiting blood.

"No, no, no! You can't move. I'll find someone to save you!" Aragorn stared helplessly at the King of Lagrange, who looked as if he were about to die, his hands and feet going cold as panic left him at a complete loss.

"It's over! It's all over!" Aragorn murmured as he looked at Roland lying on the ground. They had only wanted to do a good deed and help Bilbo find the woman he loved, but he had never imagined such a huge mistake would happen in the middle of it. And because they wanted to stay nimble, neither of them had worn armor, so Roland had taken the hit dead-on! And the grand prize, no less!

"Useless!" Roland coughed blood as he reached out and snapped the arrow shaft. Then a dim golden glow surged from his chest. Dos, shrunk down to the size of a fist, drove the Dragon Power of the Golden Holy Dragon, and strands of healing light welled up from all over his body.

"Huff, huff!" Roland abruptly sat up, pulled open his shirt, and looked at his chest. The skin there was now smooth and delicate, without the slightest trace of a wound!

"Gah!" Aragorn, who had been grieving and helpless, froze in place like a pheasant seized by the neck.

"Riiip!" Without another word, Roland tore off his own clothes, balled them up, and wiped his chest with them.

"Help wipe the blood off my back!" Roland handed
