"The next show? There's a rehearsal for the next show?" Aragorn stared at Roland in utter confusion.
"Move!" Roland grabbed Aragorn, hefted the sack, and ran. Behind them, Bywater had already gone up in flames, with a few wisps of black smoke mixed in, glaringly obvious in the night market.
"It's on fire!" Aragorn said excitedly.
"Then the orcs did it, and it has nothing to do with us! Someone will handle it!" Roland didn't even look back, only dragged Aragorn along in a mad sprint.
"Cuckoo, cuckoo!" Roland suddenly stopped and started imitating a birdcall into the night.
"???" Aragorn looked completely baffled. You were running just fine—why did you suddenly stop to make bird noises?
"Over here, Your Majesty!" Caslo's voice rang out.
Roland pulled Aragorn and followed him. At that moment, Caslo was crouched in the roadside grass like a thief, with two orcs pinned under his feet. Clearly, he had been waiting for a while.
"Why did you keep two of them alive?" Aragorn asked, puzzled.
"They'll be useful in a bit!" Roland said casually.
"Caslo, you can go call people now!" Roland nodded to Caslo.
"Got it! I'll go first. You bring the gift and follow after! I'll notify Marquis Al-Teglang-Franz in advance!" Caslo nodded.
"You know the drill!" Roland gave him a thumbs-up.
"Just wait!" Roland nodded to Aragorn and watched Caslo carry the two orcs away.
"Don't talk later! Just roar! Watch my expression and act accordingly!" Roland warned.
"Oh, right! Make sure you remember this! Tonight we were staying at the Green Dragon Inn, and we rushed over to check because Bywater was attacked by orcs! Don't let anything slip when we go back later!" Roland instructed.
"Orcs!" Caslo's shout came from the distance.
"Go!" Roland shouldered the sack and charged out.
