"Your Highness, do something! I can't stand this guy anymore!" Omsk looked at Roland with a face full of misery, the resentment in his eyes downright terrifying.
"Ahem, well... Darian, go tell Lord Charlie Pross to tone it down." Roland did not know whether to laugh or cry. He did not object to Charlie Pross's fanatical devotion to the Dragon God, but only as long as he did not start brainwashing the army. What Roland wanted was an empire ruled by royal authority, not a theocratic state where divine authority reigned supreme.
"..." Darian Nightblade nodded with a dark expression. Though reluctant, he could only head out helplessly.

"The two Orc armies have begun setting up camp. They've stationed themselves ten li away from us!" Caslo told Roland.
"Ten li..." Roland silently considered it. This distance was quite telling: close enough to keep an eye on Lagrange City, yet beyond the attack range of the city's defenders. It also left them a buffer against a knight charge. It was a position where they could defend if they retreated and attack if they advanced.
"It seems they aren't in a hurry to attack." After calculating the distance at which the Orcs had camped, Joerster reached a conclusion. As the head of the Swift Hand Family, he might not command troops, but that did not mean he knew nothing of warfare. Many members of the Swift Hand
