Three minutes later, Spider-Man stood atop a nearby shop and spotted the remnants of what had once been a flash mob art event. They were remnants because the props arranged around the area had been utterly destroyed by the now-zombified performers and enthusiasts.
Spider-Man's gaze instantly locked onto a glittering object beneath a collapsed display rack. It looked like a fragment of a lens, which meant the camera had to be somewhere nearby.
But after carefully searching every inch of ground around the fragment, he found nothing resembling a camera. Then, a zombie in a jacket turned around, revealing a bloody camera lodged in his chest.
Apparently, he had tripped while fleeing. The camera lens had struck the ground and shattered, while one corner of the camera had pierced his chest. But he had been bitten by zombies soon afterward, and his tenacious vitality had kept him from dying.
The problem was that several other zombies surrounded this one. He could either jump down, knock them all out, and take it by force, or use a cleverer method.
At that moment, Spider-Man's eyes fell on a sewer entrance not far from the group of zombies.
Two minutes later, a pair of red-and-blue hands reached out from the sewer like the claws of an evil ghost, seized a zombie by the ankle, and with a whoosh, dragged it into the sewer.
Suppressing his nausea, Spider-Man smashed the zombie's head to pulp with a sewer stone, then broke its spine before finally freeing up his hands to pry out the camera.
Smart cameras had no film, so Spider-Man could only hope that the dark preview screen meant it had run out of power. He climbed out of the sewer, dealt with the two zombies in a coffee shop, and found a way
