Magneto and Wanda were both at a loss for words.
In theory, this should have been the moment for a touching father-daughter reunion. At the very least, they should have crossed the room, exchanged a few pleasantries, hugged lightly, and patted each other on the back.
But clearly, they had never done anything like that before and had no intention of starting now. That made the empty passageway between them look incredibly awkward.
If normal father and daughter reunited under these circumstances, anyone who failed to clear a path would be hopelessly tactless. But for Magneto and Wanda, everyone who had retreated far away and left them a broad avenue looked utterly tactless instead.
Couldn't they see that neither of them wanted to hug? Why had everyone run so far away?

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and headed for the dining table. Some moved the table, some shifted chairs, and they introduced themselves as they took their seats. The Brotherhood of Mutants and the X-Men were unexpectedly getting along quite well.
