Dick and the others saw a fierce gale suddenly rise amid the fiery particles surrounding the sun, stirring up several vortices that looked somewhat like portals.

Then flame-clad warhorses charged out from them, pulling a massive chariot behind them. The sun's patterns gradually became more intricate and mysterious.

"That should be the entrance to the Light domain, right?" The group watched the several vortices that had yet to dissipate from a room in Mercury Base.

"Who would dare go over there?" Jason said. "That's the sun! Wouldn't we be burned to ashes if we just flew over?"

"Of course we can't just go over like that." Raven said. "I'll use magic to protect you, but we still need to be careful. Those horses don't look like they have very good tempers..."

Seeing the portals about to vanish, Raven hurriedly covered them with magic and flew them over. Only after getting a little closer did they realize that the portals, which had looked tiny from afar, were actually boundless behemoths.

The outline of the entire Light domain flickered within the sun. It was an almost circular arc of light, far brighter than the rest of the sun. Without magic protecting their eyes, a single glance would probably have burned them out.

As they passed through the portal, Dick said, "Something about this feels strange. Why would anyone put a portal to their territory inside the sun?"

"Maybe it's for defense," Jason said. "Without magic, no one can get in at all. That keeps ordinary people from stumbling in."

The explanation barely made sense, and Dick did not ask any further questions. Once they passed through the portal, the sun's scorching heat and blinding radiance vanished completely. They appeared beside a great lake.
